Spring Green is a bit of a misnomer in this view. Things hadn't quite 'greened up' on this spring day as T007 crosses the Spring Green bridge.
WAMX 3928 has the honors of leading this day's train. Both 3928 and 3947 are regulars out of the Madison terminal, generally on local or yard jobs. However, when in a pinch, they can be found leading heavily laden grain trains on the PDC and Reedsburg Subdivisions. Such is the case here, where the extra power will be used on T008 the next day.
The Spring Green bridge is one of the most prominent structures on the Prairie Subdivision. The multi-span deck, through-truss, swing span, timber trestle make for an impressive structure. The wooden approaches are currently being upgraded to steel and concrete.

This shot of an old railroad trestle that crosses the Wisconsin River was taken behind my workplace in downtown Wausau, Wisconsin back in September. I took this with my back-up point-and-shoot camera that I carry with me at all times.

We finally got some decent snow in Central Wisconsin. My first shot of 2012 is a view of the frozen Wisconsin River that was captured on a cold and windy Monday afternoon at Memorial Park on the southeast side of Wausau, Wisconsin. That stump reminds me of a whale surfacing for some reason.

There is a lot going on in this picture, lol. The apex predator, American Bald Eagle, just caught a small fish and is taking a sharp turn upward to avoid the screaming geese. The male Goldeneye duck is speeding up his swim to get away from the hectic situation while the female is a safe distance away. Totally uninterested in the situation is a pair of Mallard ducks as they continue sunning at the edge of the glistening ice.

Recently I went to a favorite spot in my neighborhood in Wausau, Wisconsin to view the sunset over Lake Wausau and the Wisconsin River. There were some clouds just above the horizon that blocked the sun, but not the light. It is interesting to see the differences just before the sun goes down and just after sunset from the same location. I will post the"just after sunset" version tomorrow.
