Founded in 1874, this is the oldest Jewish cemetery in the Pest side of Budapest. It is the Jewish section of the city’s Kerepesi monumental cemetery, where national heroes are buried — and is the final resting place of the crème de la crème of Hungarian Jewry of the time. Massive family tombs of Jewish noble families and industrialists line the perimeter; but there are also the graves of ordinary people. There is also a section where Holocaust victims are buried.
Quite a few of the tombs are the work of leading architects of the day — such as Ignác Alpár, Sándor Fellner, Albert Körössy, Emil Vidor and Béla Lajta. Lajta, whose work prefigured art deco, also designed the entry way from the street and the massive Ceremonial Hall (now roofless), built around 1908.
Today the cemetery is densely overgrown and tragically neglected. The huge tombs of families who once wielded social, political and financial power are literally crumbling; collapsing and being swallowed by vines and other vegetation. Some of them have been broken open: you can even see the coffins in the crypts
A few of the big tombs have been maintained and/or cleaned. And there have been fitful efforts to clear parts of the cemetery over the years — but it cries out for a concerted effort to clear the vegetation and save some of the family tombs.
Plants of the graveyard, according to the Talmud, must not be used in any way. Therefore in traditional Jewish communities trees and bushes of the cemetery are not pruned, grass is not mown, only the paths are paved and maintained. For the visitor this may suggest, usually without reason, untidiness, whereas the aim is the preservation of the natural environment. Moreover, this tradition expresses: it is futile to oppose decay.

Week 4. The Sydney Harbour Bridge and CBD as seen from Milsons Point. The sun splashed some bright golden light on the clear horizon while fast moving clouds enveloped the city with a bluish gray hue to contrast the sunset on that humid Sunday.
More than half-a-dozen photographers lining up the coast with their heavy tripods and 2 dozen selfie-stick-wielding Chinese tourists probably shot almost the same photo as mine. While this scene might be shot to death already, the view is simply worth coming back to! =)

Time is running short on Fantasy Faire 2021, but there are still so many things to find, so many sights to see!
I get to show you a few treasures here that I picked up at the Faire. One, I confess, is not available if you don't already have it: the dark skin I'm wearing is the Hel Draugr skin from Fallen Gods. It's a special edition, available only for Alia Baroque's Jail-and-Bail fundraiser last Friday evening.
It made the perfect match to the sleek Valkyrie Spirit bodysuit from *Lurve*. Lurve's Faire store in Khol Dracys has a number of lovelies for you, and Valkyrie Spirit is definitely my favourite. It includes the unrigged helm and bracers, and both of these have just wonderful materials. The specular reflection is just PERFECT -- I look like I'm wearing real steel on my forearms and head.
I added a few other bits that are a little harder to see. GERMINAL has some lovely tattoos at the Faire, and you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Lamia foot tattoo on my calves. It's a lovely black swirly bit, and seemed to fit well on my Valkyrie -- a nice subtle bit against the darker limbs of Alia's draugr skin. I also included the Corrupted eyes from A.D.D. Andel. I have a feeling I'll be adding these eyes to some of my other exotic skin outfits!
My wings are from Bare Rose, who does not have a booth at the faire, but I wanted to point these out because they're my favourite bento angel/feathered wings. I have them in white, but they're modify, so you can go in and adjust colour and specularity. So making some steel-grey metallic wings is easy. I've been able to match them to a whole bunch of different outfits.
One last quick word. These marvelous poses are all from Poseidon Poses -- appropriately enough, the Valkyrie series. They're amazing and perfect. Poseidon Poses is my go-to for action poses! You should totally stop by their Faire store in Valhalla.
There's still a few more things to come from the Faire. Please stop by, spend an hour or two or ten... and help support Relay for Life's fight against Cancer.

Awhagaro is an ancient legendary warrior who has been protecting his homeland for centuries. He wields the elements of lightning, air and ice.
Awhagaro only appears when the island is in great danger and no one has ever seen him in peaceful time, so it’s still unknown if he actually exists or is just a legend made up by the island’s inhabitants to intimidate the ones who wish to invade the island. His origins are unknown as well, but some say that Awhagaro is a kaita comprised of a Toa of lightning, a Toa of air and a Toa of ice who somehow got stuck in the combined form, which explains his ability to wield three elements at once and his extraordinarily long lifespan.

the a9 and 300PF are so so so amazingly light. The 1.4TCiii adds just a smidge of weight but is still so 'wieldable'.
It was refreshing to find this little dagger all stretched out, instead of curled into the typical "dagger pose" we know so well.

Rämhohptep, King of Kings:
Across the barren desert of the south, as far as the eye can see, where the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, lies the kingdom of the Desert Ancients. Thousands of years ago stretched the greatest empire known to mankind. Kingdoms flourished and people rejoiced for all they had. Bountiful cities connected with plentiful trade routes. A vain and egotistical visionary, the only thing that stretched further than Rämhohptep’s kingdom was his thirst for unending power. Tyrannical with his leadership, he led the armies of the old empire through war after war, campaign after campaign, until all of the known world was under his rule. Rämhohptep’s vision of ultimate power was so great, however, that it remained within him as his body, now withered from old age in the greatest kingdom ever ruled, was laid to rest in the greatest tomb ever created.
This need for unending power and authority, the need to conquer all that was, remained in Rämhohptep for millennia, slowly coalescing and forming into a power so great that it could no longer be contained. The settled sands on his tomb sifted, the seals of his magnificent sarcophagus released, and out stepped Rämhohptep, no longer living, but now forever unliving.
The gold of his immaculate armor is a stark contrast to his tattered cloths and weathered bones, but Rämhohptep holds a power so great that all quell beneath his wrath. He has risen all the Tomb Pharaohs from their pyramid crypts and now commands the greatest undead army ever witnessed.
Charging into battle atop a magnificent chariot made of ancient bone and wielding khopesh of unrelenting power, Rämhohptep has reclaimed his once great kingdom, now an empty land of sand and bone. On Achernon, Korath stands over a man. He wields a baton in each hand. The man screams in an alien language for mercy. Korath just laughs at the man and lowers one baton to the man’s head. This causes the man on the ground to silence his whimpers.
”You feel that? That’s a baton capable of killing a man more powerful than the Mad Titan himself.”
“Please! I’ve got a family.”
”Then you know the imperativeness that your information is to me.”
“I said I don’t know where the gem is! You’ve got to believe me!”
”Unfortunately for you. I do believe you.” Korath presses a button on his baton that sends an electrical blast down the baton and it hits the man’s head. Fortunately for the man, the blast does not kill him, but instead just sends him unconscious. Korath holsters his weapons and turns to his men.
“What do we do know?” One asks.
”We keep looking.”
Just outside the building Korath and his men stand, Star-Lord’s ship lands and Peter jumps out of the cockpit. He makes his way to the entrance and peaks into the building. Peter notices Korath and his men.
”Rora. How many are in there?”
”I’m seeing six heartbeats. Five have hostile intent as the other seems to be in a state of unconsciousness.”
”Good.”
Peter pulls his gun from it’s holster and readies it. He takes a deep breath in and kicks the door in. This causes all five men inside to turn their attention to the entrance. Peter stands there smiling underneath his mask.
”Star-Lord!” Korath says as he takes his batons out of their holsters.
”Hey! I’ve got some questions for you, Korath. You do realize Achernon has a no invasion sign on it’s front lawn?”
”Indeed! That’s why this is no invasion. Just a mere reconnaissance mission.”
”Reconnaissance? For what?”
”If I told you that, I’d have to kill you, and I have no intentions to do so. Not yet anyways.”
”Aw, thanks. Unfortunately for you, your hostile actions on this planet give me every right to bring you in for breaking the no-invasion law.”
”Well then.” Korath signals his men to ready their weapons and take aim against Star-Lord. As they do so, Korath takes a defensive stance and smiles. ”Go right ahead.”
Always hated the Dumbledore hairpiece for Gandalf. Credit for the hair: I got the idea on the Eurobrick-forum, I think General Magma was the one to use this hairpiece.

A rare, physical-map- wielding tourist walks in front of a graffitied wall in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel island, the Azores. The artwork, found on Rua 6 de Junho, is one of the two pieces Portuguese artist Eime decorated the town with during the Walk&Talk urban art festival back in 2012.
Backstory: As the final of the synthetic lifeforms created to contact the Mask of Life, Unit-10 was considered to be a failure. Initial tests of Project: Eidolon's Ghost Engine concluded it would be useless in acquiring the mask, and Eidolon's memories were wiped. Eidolon awoke only to find it lacked memory or purpose. Eidolon attempted to escape his creators but was brought down by his sister unit, Avalon. Following Diaa's reactivation of Avalon and Echelon, Eidolon fled into the wilderness of Okoto. Eidolon now roams the world seeking meaning. He has found an unlikely ally in the Valkyrie, Irei.
Powers and Abilities:
Eidolon carries the experimental Ghost Engine, a dimension canceling device. The engine allows him to "ghost" an object by temporarily suppressing its physical form. Practically, this allows Eidolon to phase through walls, pierce defenses such as armor and shields, or make an objects intangible. Like his siblings, Eidolon possesses impressive combat algorithms, though his were partially corrupted when his memory was wiped.
Tools:
Eidolon wields the spear Alceste, an elegant weapon salvaged from an ancient ruin. For ranged combat, Eidolon carries a plasma rifle.

If you were wondering who were the ones that wielded those formidable syringes in the 50s from the previous post - here they are. They're also part of the reconstructed local health care unit of the Groene Kruis (Green Cross), at the Nederlands Openlucht Museum.
The Green Cross was the second associations to improve public health in the Netherlands and was founded at the end of the 19th century. Doctors took the initiatives to set up local associations. The first one was the White cross. The associations were involved in district nursing, the organization of ambulance transport, tuberculosis control and the care of mother and child. The latter in the form of maternity nurses and consultancies.
The Green Cross building was realized in 1954 and deconstructed (partitioned in a number of large pieces) and reconstructed at the museum).
The roman catholic nurse/nun shown here is somewhat curious since the Groene Kruis was a non-denominational organization. In, at the time, pillarized (verzuild) Holland, there was a roman catholic local health association called the Wit/Gele Kruis. But maybe the nurse was a very early member of the depillarization movement ;-)

### Will Apple Listen to Mark Zuckerberg’s Criticism?
I Don’t Think So—At Least Not for Someone Enchanted by the Apple Vision Pro.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, recently appeared on a well-known podcast, where he criticized Apple for failing to release an innovative product since the iPhone and for experiencing a decline in sales.
Appearing on a podcast originating from Apple and then proceeding to criticize the company might seem like a lighthearted joke, but I believe he was serious.
Why? Because he now wields a weapon—the AR glasses.
With the support of various institutions and a team of highly skilled professionals, he has likely achieved some notable milestones. Yet, as someone who has been a devoted Apple user since the PowerBook 540c, I still do not sense any real craftsmanship or identity in what he creates.
This sentiment extends to other IT giants that currently dominate the world—Meta, Amazon, Tesla, Microsoft, and Google.
Just by listing their names, readers of this text are likely already picturing their respective CEOs.
In the past, I wrote that Steve Jobs was not an artist.
What he excelled at was weaving together scattered ideas from across the world, expanding upon them, and linking them to the future.
The true creator was Jonathan Ive.
A minority of people may share this perspective with me.
However, when I see these IT moguls quickly shifting their corporate stances the moment the possibility of Trump returning to power emerges, I feel compelled to speak my mind.
The AR glasses, the cars—everything they create lacks a fundamental concept.
Call it ideology or, in lighter terms, identity.
It is true that Tim Cook and Apple’s current team have become more prone to letting slip details about upcoming products before their official release.
I have always loved music.
Artists shut themselves in a studio, cutting off the outside world, pouring their anger, hatred, joy, and sorrow into each note with intense focus.
It’s as if they are entrusting something to their music.
And when they finally release their album, they explain the emotions and thoughts behind its creation.
(Prince, whom I admire, rarely spoke about his work, so understanding his art required engaging with the final product itself.)
Until an album is complete and released, artists say nothing.
It was those artists who moved me to my core.
The faint glow of Apple’s innovation still remains within me.
Not even last year’s widely criticized "failure"—the Apple Vision Pro—could extinguish it.
In fact, it shines even brighter than the iPhone.
Because beyond its cutting-edge electronic components, I can sense a concept, an ideology.
Unfortunately, I will never feel the same from Meta’s AR glasses or Tesla’s cars.

Apple refused to bow to Trump.
If asked what Apple’s ideology truly is, I would answer this:
**Apple is a group of individuals who believe in themselves.**
Steve Jobs, watching from heaven, is probably chuckling at this overly serious text I wrote.

We found the 8mm film of our honeymoon for the first time in decades, and burned it onto a DVD.
On June 6, 1993, we got married, and headed straight to Nassau, Bahamas, via New York.
Our destination was the pink sand beach where the late Princess Diana went on her honeymoon.
If you're heading to the Bahamas, this might be a good reference.
The hotel we stayed at was the Ramada Hotel, which no longer exists.
My wife is showing us the hotel room.
But now you can see the beautiful scenery in real time.
When I played the DVD that arrived, it showed footage of our arrival in the Bahamas.

The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine
quietly.

I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.

I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After

until I realized it is love?

マークザッカーバーグ氏の批判に、アップルは耳を傾けるだろうか。
僕にはそう思えない。アップルヴィジョンプロに夢を見せられた僕には。
メタのマークザッカーバーグ氏は、有名なポッドキャストに出演し、アップルはアイフォン以来革新的な製品を発売せず、売り上げも落ちていると批判したようだ。
アップル発祥のポッドキャストに現れ、アップルを批判すると言うのは軽いジョークに思えるが、真剣に訴えたんだろうと僕は思う。
なぜなら、今の彼はARグラスという武器を手にしているからだ。
おそらく、さまざまな関係機関や優秀なスタッフが彼を支え、それなりの目標を達成したんだろうが、パワーブック５４０cから使い続けてきた僕のような古いアップルファンからしてみれば、まだ物作りのアイデンティを彼からはまったく感じない。
これは他の、現在世界を制覇しているIT企業らも含む。
メタ、アマゾン、テスラ。マイクロソフト。グーグル。
社名が並ぶだけで、このテキストを読まれている方は名前と顔をすでに浮かべているはずだ。
僕は以前、スティーブ・ジョブズはアーティストではないと書いた。
彼は、現世界に散らばったイメージを紡ぎ合わせ、それを膨らます。そして未来へリンクさせる。それが得意だっただけだ。
実際に創作していたのはジョナサンアイブだ。少数ながらも僕のような意見を持っている方もいるだろう。
しかし、先述したIT関連の面々が、トランプ氏に再び権力が戻るとなった途端に会社の方針を覆す様子を見ていると、僕は一言、どうしても意見したいのだ。
彼らが作ったARグラスや車などには、肝心な観念が欠けている。思想という重い言葉や、軽めのアイデンティティと言い換えてもいい。
確かに、ティムクック氏やアップルの現在のスタッフらは、発売前の商品に関して口を滑らせることが多くなった。
僕は、以前から書いているように音楽が大好きだ。
外界を断ち、アーティストらがスタジオにこもって、怒りや憎しみ、喜びや悲しみを一心不乱になって一音に吹き込む。何かを託すと言ってもいい。
そして、完成したアルバムを発表し、どんな思いを込めて制作したのかを語る。（僕が好きなプリンスはほとんど語らなかったので、完成された作品を理解する必要があった）
アルバムが完成し、発表するまで、彼らはひとことも語らない。
僕の胸を震わせたのは、そんなアーティストらだった。
僕の中に淡く灯っているアップルの革新性は、いまでも消えていない。
それは昨年、大失敗だと批判されたアップルヴィジョンプロでさえも消すことはできない。むしろ、アイフォン以上の強烈な光を放っている。
ただの斬新な電化製品ではなく、細かな電気部品の向こうに観念や思想を感じるからだ。
残念ながら、メタのARグラスやテスラの車に、僕がその観念や思想を感じることは今後もないだろう。
長々と書いてきたが、結論は以下の記事だ。

アップルは、トランプ氏になびかなかったのだ。
アップル社の観念や思想とは、具体的に何かと訊かれたら、僕はこう答える。
アップルとは、自分自身を信じる人間が集まっているグループだ。
たぶん、天国のスティーブ・ジョブズは、僕がクソ真面目に書いたテキストを、鼻で笑っていることだろう。
トランプ氏に媚びない会社。
それがAppleさ。:)

１９９３年６月６日、僕らは結婚し、そのままニューヨークを経由して、バハマのナッソーへ向かいました。
目的地は、亡くなられたダイアナ妃が新婚旅行へ向かったピンクサンドビーチです。

あらすじ
大学を目指している北見ケイは、SNS上で、6歳年上のイベントコンパニオン、上村香織に出会う。
上京してきた香織の夢は、有名なアーティストの友達になるためだ。
そのためにはラジオ局のプロデューサー、大沢亮の存在が必要だった。
大沢は、ラジオの生放送中、香織へ語りかける。
「僕には妻子がある。しかし、僕は君に会いたいと思っている」
ケイの同級生で、彼を想っている三條里香は、香織の動向を探っていた。。。。。
本編
人が海へ向かう理由には、二つある。
ひとつは、波打ち際ではしゃぐ子供のように、今の瞬間の海の輝きを楽しむこと。
もうひとつは、その輝きを静かに見据えて、過ぎ去った日々を懐かしむ老人のように記憶の埃を払うこと。
二つは重なり合わないようではあるけれども、たったひとつの意味しか生まない。
再生だ。
明日っていう、曖昧な日を確実なものへと変えてゆくために、自分の存在に向き合う。
それが再生の意味だ。

このロットナンバーは、眠っていたレオナルドダヴィンチの作品がオークションにかけらた際に付されたものです。
作品にはサインなどがいっさい記されていなかったため、彼の作品だと断定できませんでした。
しかし、様々な鑑定の結果、陽の光を浴びました。
誰にも気づかれない作品。肩書がなくとも静かに語りかける作品。

She can wield power orbs. Don't really know what they're meant to be -- star energy? idk -- but they're cool and fit with the theme.

One of the thirteen Zodiarchs, powerful Great Beings/deities who represent the star signs and their constellations, chosen by a powerful and mysterious being known as the First.
Nyctoria represents Scorpio, the eighth star sign, having ascended from her mortal form as a being of pure shadow by confronting her inner darkness in destroying her progenitor, Makuta Teridax.
The First granted Nyctoria the powers of the Red Star and stewardship of the cycle of death and rebirth.

The extra title by her name is a reference to Hyperion, the Titan who fathered Helios (Sun), Selene (Moon), and Eos (Dawn) in Greek mythology. And, of course, astrology and space stuff are themes here as well.

In Norse mythology, Thor is a hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms, strength, destruction, fertility, healing and the protection of mankind. Whomever began calling this wonderful abyss in the sea at Cape Perpetua Thor's Well is a genius, for a well is exactly what it looks like. The well is a challenge to photograph, as tide levels and swells need to be just right to do it justice. I will return again and again until I get it just right! Thanks to Nick, Karla and Riley for joining us here ~ it was a blast!!!
Keitara wields a staff capable of absorbing and utilizing elemental energy, as well as transforming between staff, scythe, and rifle forms (she swears the idea originated before RWBY). Certainly a challenge to build, but I'm happy with the solution I came up with.
Built by man upon the body of God's seventh angel, septum wields the seven pronged Staff of Ramus, and carries the seventh bowl in its seven fingered hand upon its seventh arm. Should the fluid be poured unto the Earth, man's world would be torn asunder. Comeuppance... and hubris.

Time is running short on Fantasy Faire 2021, but there are still so many things to find, so many sights to see!
I get to show you a few treasures here that I picked up at the Faire. One, I confess, is not available if you don't already have it: the dark skin I'm wearing is the Hel Draugr skin from Fallen Gods. It's a special edition, available only for Alia Baroque's Jail-and-Bail fundraiser last Friday evening.
It made the perfect match to the sleek Valkyrie Spirit bodysuit from *Lurve*. Lurve's Faire store in Khol Dracys has a number of lovelies for you, and Valkyrie Spirit is definitely my favourite. It includes the unrigged helm and bracers, and both of these have just wonderful materials. The specular reflection is just PERFECT -- I look like I'm wearing real steel on my forearms and head.
I added a few other bits that are a little harder to see. GERMINAL has some lovely tattoos at the Faire, and you might be able to catch a glimpse of the Lamia foot tattoo on my calves. It's a lovely black swirly bit, and seemed to fit well on my Valkyrie -- a nice subtle bit against the darker limbs of Alia's draugr skin. I also included the Corrupted eyes from A.D.D. Andel. I have a feeling I'll be adding these eyes to some of my other exotic skin outfits!
My wings are from Bare Rose, who does not have a booth at the faire, but I wanted to point these out because they're my favourite bento angel/feathered wings. I have them in white, but they're modify, so you can go in and adjust colour and specularity. So making some steel-grey metallic wings is easy. I've been able to match them to a whole bunch of different outfits.
One last quick word. These marvelous poses are all from Poseidon Poses -- appropriately enough, the Valkyrie series. They're amazing and perfect. Poseidon Poses is my go-to for action poses! You should totally stop by their Faire store in Valhalla.
There's still a few more things to come from the Faire. Please stop by, spend an hour or two or ten... and help support Relay for Life's fight against Cancer.
