Whenever we visit the North Norfolk coast I always look out for this boat at Burnham Overy Staithe as it's a real beauty. I was going to go for a closer crop of the boat but i wanted to include a decent backdrop of the marshes.

Tokyo Tower at night. Whenever there is a next time I think I want to try a long exposure, this is a handhold shot.

Info from WiKi:

""Tokyo Tower (東京タワー Tōkyō tawā, officially called 日本電波塔 Nippon denpatō "Japan Radio Tower") is a communications and observation tower in the Shiba-koen district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan. At 332.9 metres (1,092 ft), it is the second-tallest structure in Japan. The structure is an Eiffel Tower-inspired lattice tower that is painted white and international orange to comply with air safety regulations.

Built in 1958, the tower's main sources of income are tourism and antenna leasing. Over 150 million people have visited the tower. FootTown, a four-story building directly under the tower, houses museums, restaurants and shops. Departing from there, guests can visit two observation decks. The two-story Main Deck (formerly known as the Main Observatory) is at 150 metres (490 ft), while the smaller Top Deck (formerly known as the Special Observatory) reaches a height of 249.6 metres (819 ft). The names were changed following renovation of the top deck in 2018.[4]

The tower acts as a support structure for an antenna. Intended for television broadcasting, radio antennas were installed in 1961, but the tower now broadcasts signals for Japanese media outlets such as NHK, TBS and Fuji TV. Japan's planned digital television transition by July 2011 was problematic, however; Tokyo Tower's height, 332.9 m (1,092 ft) was not high enough to support complete terrestrial digital broadcasting to the area. A taller digital broadcasting tower, known as Tokyo Skytree, was completed on 29 February 2012. Every five years Tokyo Tower is repainted. It takes one year to repaint it.

Since its completion in 1958, Tokyo Tower has become a prominent landmark in the city, and frequently appears in media set in Tokyo.""

Whenever I take Tom for a walk he constantly talks to me. I haven't worked out if it's because he scared, or he just wants me to know where he is at all times.Or maybe he is just telling me all the things he is seeing and how much fun he is having.

Whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul, I shall recall the memory of a warm, sunny, late summer afternoon or a cozy day in autumn..

Whenever I see these old coastguards' cottages, I fantasise about living in one of them. There are fabulous views along the coast in both directions.

Whenever we cross Dartmoor on our way to Tavistock and the south-west we invariably pass this old granite quarry on the western side of the moor. Some of the rocks appear to be piled very precariously on the side of the road, but they haven't moved yet! The quarry started operating in 1876 and finally closed in 1997. It is said that the granite from Merrivale was used to pave Trafalgar Square and also the Falklands Memorial

The white buildings to the right of centre include the Dartmoor Inn, which had fairly recently re-opened after being closed for some time.

In this area (mainly on the south side of the road) are a number of prehistoric remains, and the group of monuments at Merrivale is one of the finest on the moor. Side by side here are the remains of a Bronze Age settlement and a complex of ritual sites, including three stone rows, a stone circle, standing stones and a number of cairns – earth mounds associated with burials. The monuments were probably built over a long period, between about 2500 BC and 1000 BC.

I enjoyed doing this painting and whenever I do city life paintings I cant stop listening to Glenn Frey song ‘you belong to the City’. One of the band members of Eagles and when he wanted to create solo album, he was at its best. This was a soundtrack for Television series Miami vice. What a song.

Don Johnson featured in Miami Vice who also had a bill board chart hit song Heart Beat.

Saxophone was used in most of the songs in the 80s. Which created the mood and the videos were amazingly good. If I am a time traveler, I would love to travel back to 80s where music and videos was amazingly good and inspirational.

Frankly speaking, the song by Glenn Frey inspired me to do lot of city life and city night’s art works. Whenever I do painting I want this song to be playing..Again and again. I never ever get tired listening to this song and also the other songs of 80s.

Its always raining here and the net is slow. Love to go out and capture the neon lights with my pocket camera. It may inspire me to do another city night painting. I am glad that the architect selected all the city nights’ paintings along with other paintings. Hope to do few more in future.

Until then let me close my eyes and enjoy listening to this amazing song by Glenn Frey.

“Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things, which escape those who dream only by night.”!!!

Whenever there’s anything the least bit scary, Charlotte hides under the closest blanket.

Whenever I creep close enough to my subjects, they tend to lose the defining edges. With this shot, I moved in just before my lens would not focus. The lines radiating out from the center appear to have been painted by a very fine brush. There you are...a flower as a work of art.

Whenever we approach the arboretum, we usually see a Great White Egret hunting in the shallow water at the lake's edge. Once it hears and/or see us approaching, it flies off, so we try to be quiet, but it still flies away.

Same thing happened again this visit, except while sitting in the sitting area, taking pictures - we happened to look up and there was the Egret! Perched on one leg, high in a tree nearly over our heads, I couldn't help but wonder if it thought it was well hidden, or just patiently waiting for us to move along?

Whenever I see one of these ducks, I'm always blown away by the textures, colours, shapes, tones that the plumage creates....nature is just gob-smackingly amazing....

P.s. to get the best out of the shot though, you do have to lie down on muddy ground, in a very busy part of Bushy park, with everyone around you thinking you've totally lost the plot....

P.p.s......They're right....!!!!

Whenever I think back to earlier times, they seem so innocent to me...

Whenever I'm getting near Eilean Donan castle I always say " I'm not taking any pictures this time I've got enough ". As soon as it comes into view my finger goes to the indicator stalk and I pull into the car park and out comes the camera.

We stayed in Montalcino for a week this summer and every time I passed the above area it was deja vu for me. " The light's a bit different this time I think ". If you haven't been to this area it's on the road between Montalcino and San Quirico d'Orcia. On one side of the road you have this view , on the other side of the road are ' those trees ', you know the ones , the little copse you see on bottles of olive oil and on many prints.

Be warned , you will NOT get out of your hire car and take just one shot , you will take a couple , then you will ' just walk up the road a little'. Before you know where you are your car will be a dot in the distance. So make sure whoever you leave in the car has adequate entertainment and leave them the key so they can have the air con. on. You'll forget about the thirty odd C degree heat but they won't ! You've been warned.

Whenever there are bright green leaves I see them in the incredible formations of nature. The structure is so pure, perfect close to a miracle. My contribution for the theme:formation / Photo Sunday

Whenever people suffered the difficulty in real life, they either faced the challenge with courage or hided themselves in their secret garden temporarily, made their sophicated thoughts within, and then find way to breakthrough again.

Have you ever own your secret garden ? It could be a real place in the world , or just a mental place at your mind, which made yourself feel safe & help you calm down from the suddently sufferings in real life.

Try to create the secret garden through the overlayering composition, it can be a place mixed with variable emotions, happiness, sorrow, hate, sadness, peaceful etc, not necesarry a subjective garden in vision, maybe just a private corner under the tree, on the meadow, or even the space between the leaves & air.. tell me how you think about your secret garden.

it is time to reform ;-)

Whenever we go grocery shopping, I find that I look at the packaging our food comes in as a possible photographic subject. One afternoon my husband came home with a large bag of tangerines. I enjoy that fruit, yet the bag holding the orange orbs made me especially happy.

Whenever I do these they remind me so much of Biopsies under a microscope..

Whenever ı say that, I will not shoot macro/bokeh style anymore, but try to concentrate on different genres, to train my eyes in different ways, I always end up with shoots like that:)

Whenever I run or go for a bike ride, the bike path goes through this prairie area. I don't usually do any photography in this place but every year at this time the field is just full of flowers and every year I say I should try and photograph it. I always drag my feet and miss the opportunity but last evening I grabbed my camera and gave it a shot.

Palos Heights, IL

Whenever I upload a photo to Flickr I at least make some degree of an effort to identify the subject. Well, all I can say is that this is a hover fly, apparently one of 6,000 different types. I am sure there will be someone out there who can narrow down the ID but it does seem a complex world to myself being so ignorant when it comes to insects.

Photo taken in our garden.

Suffice to say, this is a starting point as far as my macro aspirations go.

Whenever I need to draw upon my own sense of peace and wholeness, it's from days like these.

Whenever possible I avoid having a subject isolated in the centre of my photos, but it was impossible this day. I followed the track through the sand hills leading to the beach, my plan to get some sunset shots. When I came up behind this man standing on the track and watching the sunset, I had to have this silhouette shot. He heard my camera and turned to apologize. No apologies required, I thanked him.

Whenever my garden starts loosing its colouful vitality and energy, and the lawn starts becoming multocolored by fallen leaves and petals, at the beginning of Autumn, I feel really down, because my garden starts its pre-hibernation period…

….But, on the other hand, it is really amazing how certain plants STILL go on blooming, independently of rains and negative météo, generally…

Here they are some, and very photogenic, I must say!!! 😊😊❤️❤️

Whenever I travel, I am fascinated by the influx of people who I am surrounded by and the preoccupation of guessing whether they are residents of the city I am visiting or tourists like me. I can identify with the feeling of being displaced and somewhat discombobulated first by the every day experience of being alive and second by the act of traveling across the world so easily and quickly in a way that would have been unheard of even a hundred years ago. I do like the idea that we all come from somewhere and yet I also feel like geography might be a cruel illusion to keep molecules floating in space so desperately apart. I’ve always been against the politicization of borders and xenophobia. In my own country, there has been such a talk about walls and the criminalization of humans who have valid life stories and probably a great deal to teach us. The only real danger to the future of America is white supremacists and profit over people, which has been shaping the legislature here fore far too long.

In any case, I like to imagine a Miami, Spain. Perhaps, it is just as warm and tropical but with better architecture and more progressive politicians. Perhaps, you can pacify even the most agitated alligator there by feeding it papa bravas and distract DeSantis from further hate speech and harmful policies by trapping him for an eternity in some elaborate Gaudi architecture.

Happy Sunday !

I photograph in rain whenever I have to. Here, there was also wind, which presents an entirely different problem. While setting up this shot, a gust blew the camera forward, the lens hitting the ground. Fortunately, everything was okay.

There was a lot that went into this photo at the time. Apart from the rain and wind, I had forgotten to bring my ND filters. The lens I was using has no shutter, and I use ND filters to allow a longer exposure as well as a more open aperture.

Because it was just me and the lens, I had to opt for f/64 - not my first choice - and 1 second of exposure. This was long enough that I could uncover and re-cover the lens, though I would have much prefered 4 or even 8 seconds.

Another curious thing is that even though I had been at this site two or three times before this, I had never noticed the weirdly obvious cliff. I have no idea how I missed it. The only explanation is that I was overly focused upon the car and the house behind it (behind the camera in this case) and ignored nature, which is sort of horrible.

But here it is anyway. For all the problems that swam through this photo's creation, I love it. It's far from perfect, but the shutter was open long enough to catch the movement of the grasses. It was soft enough to allow some of the lens's personality to show through. And the story of how it came to be is written there on the negative.
