Had a pretty good photog day......which always makes me happy. I have so many to look through and so I'm sure I'll be uploading more photos throughout the week.

I took the time today to lay out under the sun...and just enjoy the nature around me. The sky has been SO blue here in the Keys lately. I mean BLUE! It's gorgeous.

A little update on my continuing Anxiety situation. I had another visit with my doc who decided that he would like to try me on Buspar next. Though I'm still apprehensive about it, I will give it a shot. I am also starting counseling this week as well as the woman's bible study from my church. I am so excited about these things and look forward to seeing how this will help me. The funny thing is....I"m already feeling a difference in myself, just making these choices to find help in various avenues.

For the first time in a while....I am looking forward to the future. THough I know that there will be some challenges ahead, I'm really ready to take them as they come.

Plus I have my most awesome flickr friends to help me out when I need it!

much luv!

On Saturday, I did my first Moth Week event of the year. Three more to go. This time I was invited to setup for a city park for their first ever moth night. The next two are state parks. Then my friend's garden. I am not a moth expert (I like talking about spiders more), but I know enough and it is fun to share what I do know with people.

We had over 40 moth species at the park. I am sure there were many more, but it is hard to photograph everything while educating visitors about them. But that means less effort posting them all to iNaturalist. I would know hardly anything about moths if not for iNaturalist.

This Rindgea moth is very common here but can't be identified to species. I don't often get a chance to do an artistic moth shot. Moth sheets aren't very aesthetic. This one landed on some leaves just as I turned off my lights.

Struggling with this weeks theme as the weather here in the UK has warmed up suprisingly , however after my wild camp in the Lakes I woke up to find no frost on my tent but the fields in the valley bottom were white with frost.

that's right, drinking straight out of the milk jug. (I swear I have more class than this... usually)

there's not a lot of point to this, I just thought it'd be kind of silly. I thought (literally for almost an hour) about photoshopping my toes... they're something I both love and hate about myself. If you look close (particularly in the right photo) the toe next to my pinky toe is actually the shortest (on both feet!)... which is something I've never seen on anyone but me before. I've seen all kind of weird toes, but mine are original! weird... if anyone knows anyone with toes like me, I'd be interested to know! haha

thanks for all your thoughts and prayers through the week for my grandpa and my family and I. he's 82 and stubborn. fainted and went to the hospital and had to have emergency surgery, had an aneurism, breathing machine... scary stuff. I've been keeping in contact with my family and he's doing much better. Still very sick, weak and confused, but talking and laughing and concerned about the cows getting out of the pasture. haha. he still has a long road ahead of him and as I said... he's 82, but he has a lot of fight, and a lot of sass in him so we're praying for the best.

The stuffed dog is a sort of "hello!" to my friend April. I met her in the 6th grade and she came up from Nebraska to stay with me thursday-sunday and she was with me when I got the dog. It was nice to have her here in my city <3

[ 02 / 52 Weeks - 09 - 15 january ]

This week subject: Nature.

Metamorphosis.

This shot has NOT a realistic aim.

Hello, everyone. Hope you're all doing okay.

Unfortunately we've missed these last two weeks, but we're back now.

Once again we can't close the diagnosis. We did the tomography which didn't show anything. The week after that I took him to the best ophthalmologist we have here because I would like to know what was causing the mydriasis in both eyes. Then again, just for assumption and excluding the other probable diseases, we got to another stroke, just like at the end of 2015. The difference this time is that the only signs are the paralysis of the left side of his face and the ocular changes, thanks God. The lesser of two evils, 'cause I think you guys remember what he went through last time...

To be sure we need a MRI but there's no place in my state that does it. Actually, Brazil have 26 states and only 3 cities in 3 of these states offers veterinary MRI. None of them is close to where we live...

We started the treatment on the same day of the exam with steroids. Today is the 12th day and sadly I didn't notice any improvements. But he's not worse either, which is a win. We already started to give less medication and I don't know what'll be the next step.

Apart from that, he's doing okay.

He have this face because I told him we're going back to the ophthalmologist tomorrow and, as you can see, he's not very thrilled about it. hahaha

Have a blessed week, everyone.

What I do every single day of the week, is go for a walk. Walking is healthy, we sit around too much so I walk and I love it.

Early mornings are the best !

Learned: Water-self-portraits are so not easy.

But laying in a mix of water, soy milk and beetroot juice was an interesting and fun experience :)

The same tree one week later (see comments) from a different angle. There is a little more orange and a little less green, but the orange leaves from the top have fallen.

The faithful bench is still there.

When I woke up I was so tired to take a picture of something. I just bought a new coffee so I decided to take a picture of it. But I was still too tired so this one is second cup of my morning coffee :)

First trial with a new technic ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) with some trees clode to my garden

I had waited for over 3 weeks to capture this image so the tide was high enough on a day I wasn't working, The visit I feel paid off. This image is exactly what I wanted to capture, no horizon as I shot from high up and a misty etherical feel to the sea to give an impression of mist or fog.

There's long exposures and then there's long exposures. This one was 751 seconds long, thats 12 and half minutes, it's the longest I have ever taken, this was only achievable by using a big stopper, or so I thought, however that wasn't giving me the time I wanted so I added a little stopper too, thus reducing the light hitting the sensor by 16 stops.

The image here is straight from the RAW file, no editing whatsoever, no adjustment of colour temperature just simply resized in lightroom and uploaded. I hope you like it as much as I did taking it.

This sign is at the top of the walkway where I go to do stairs. There are 106 steps up and then down again I go! So pretty this time of year!

Here is my second concept for #surrealism 😊

.

It was truly surreal to find this abandonned concrete-construction 😮 .

In reality it was over water and it was crazy windy that day and I was running over the narrow beams like a frightened chicken and made @theanthonycastro (who took the photo) laugh.
