Rileys first week at Hogwarts had been very eventful, filled with adventures and magical lessons from her classes. All with the adjustment of attending an actual school.
The racing during Cowes Week viewed from Gurnard Beach Huts. I tried to use the ominous rain cloud looming overhead to really add to the composition of this shot, with the beach huts making the location instantly recognisable.
it’s easy to pretend to have nothing to do.
it’s not so easy to fool yourself.
I pretended to have free time the whole week. because I thought I deserved it. I read ‘the perks of being a wallflower‘ and it’s been the first book I have read that had nothing to do with school since I‘ve started this project in september. true fact.
I loved it very much, though. :)
the beginning of my week was not good but okay, the weekend was amazing. about 100 people from my grade went to a holiday village to party the end of our written examinations. we had lots of fun and for the first time in months I was able to forget about all the stress.

Sorry we missed a couple of weeks. Thought I submitted last weeks photo, but didn't. It's in the missed week discussion. The summer's been getting away on us way too quickly!

Week 44:52 Reflections (Oct 28th - Nov 3rd)
----------------------------------------------------------------
In the local pharmacy today to get a flu shot and my brother has a birthday coming up this Friday, so I was getting a card...
with mirrors everywhere in the store, it was filled with reflections.
Thought I'd throw in an angle shot as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------
This would work for the creative selfie theme a few weeks back.
self portrait, natural light
I promise the next shots will be more creative (at least a bit)...
if I continue uploading at this rate, I'll need a pro account soon... =/
I'll have to be a bit more selective

this week was good.
this week was bad.
this week was okay.
good: spent much time with Nina and her new babycat,
had a nice evening with the other Nina and Sarah,
took pictures with Kathy
bad: procrastination all the time, avoiding school stuff
I made a to-do list today
and I managed to do everything except for one thing.
it feels good. I will make more of them in the future, they help me take care of my stuff.
I had a week off, tomorrow school will start again. I have three exams
and two presentations next week.
I suck at maths.

the biggest thank you to www.flickr.com/photos/farahelizabethphotographic/ for the testimonial,
I haven't received one in a while and it made me really happy.
The ceiling at my gym! It's interesting, the things you don't pay attention to when you're not looking for them... :)

I didn't even get my film that I ordered until Thursday, and that was jam-packed, I went on a photoshoot with Leah and John and I ended up using all 36 exposures, so all of these shots are from Friday.
William didn't shoot very much at night but he photographed a lot of diners which were such a big part of the culture in the 60s and 70s. We have one in my town, but it's hard to get an image of it without a row of cars (non vintage) parked in front.

I realized last year that I have to do something to jump start my creativity. I rarely picked up my camera since Greg died a year ago. But photography has always been one of my great pleasures and I want it back. So I am going to try to do another 52 week project. I found two prompts on line and I am going to combine them for this project. My first entry represents "Beginnings" and this photo is of another project I'm taking on this year. I am going to make a temperature scarf. I will crochet a row every day representing the high temperature of the day and these are the colors I chose to use going from cold to hot.
This was the first sunrise image I have taken for a very long time. As hard as it is to climb out of bed when it is -8 degrees THIS is what it's all about and I have to say what an amazing morning it was! It isn't just watching a sunrise it is the whole experience of the extreme weather and hearing the intense sounds of the ice as it laps against the rocks and the pier. The steam out on the lake only happens like this when those temperatures drop to below zero.

I saw my friends every day this week, except for sunday, and had a really good time. I just feel like myself when I’m with them. and I appreciate them. a lot.
apart from that I took care of two things I’ve been putting off for a very long time and it felt so very good.
this week I caught myself saying that this summer is the best one I ever had and that thought makes me happy.
[august 23 – 29, 2010]
It was so much warmer this week than last week (-24 celcius rather than -27 celcius). I ventured outside for about 22 seconds to take this shot!
ancora gocce.. non ero soddisfatta dello sfondo quindi ci ho riprovato, così va meglio no?
piove ancora

Alright, so I've decided that my 52 week project isn't going to be self portraits but rather mostly of my sister. I never take enough photos of her and she's actually fantastic to take photos of so that's my plan. Hope everyone's New Year is going well so far.

Week six. Theme: Street.
This week's self portrait was fairly improvised. I had about five concepts in mind and, with the help of my wonderful assistant Bex, dragged a chair, a watering can, pyjamas (?!) across town to the location to play with. I've ended up going for a much simpler shot than I'd originally envisioned, as I like it better as a picture. This was the first time I've shot a self portrait with an audience and I'm happy to say it wasn't anywhere near as scary as I'd expected! Bring on next week's 'monster' theme :D

Title: Hands
52 Weeks of 2023
Took my DSLR out of its case for the first time in ages. I had almost forgotten how to use it, but through trial and error it started to come back to me... Also, tricky taking a hand selfie and tried with a variety of props, but decided on this one with glass of water (half full). This was taken indoors with natural light coming though venetian blinds.
I'm starting a new project, the 52 weeks! I'll upload one photo each week in one year and I'll only post them on facebook, so stay tuned! I'm so happy and I hope I can finish this one.
I hope you like it :)

My song of the end
I had seen it in my dreams
My song of the end
I can't stop the darkening clouds
Not at all what I had planned. :( At least I tried this week... sort of. It would have been great if I had medieval architecture and costume, but it's looking like this project is going to consistently take an h_h twist. Don't tell my son. He'd be so disappointed in me. ;0)
I don't even want to upload the previous weeks' photos. bleh

Another stroll around Holes Bay, was gobsmacked how many berries were still available for the foraging animals.

We took a couple of photos on the 1st of March for this series, both headshots that were similar to the first week of this series and then of him standing outdoors by a poker table playing poker with a friend of his. Well while none of those shots were bad, they just didn´t "pop" so I asked him if we could try again and if he was up for going in a suit into the blue lagoon and he loved the idea.
Many thanx to www.bluelagoon.is for allowing us in on such short notice, they were very helpful.
I don´t know what it is but this photo makes me think of agent Smith from the Matrix.
Lighting is a single bowens monolight with a 75° softlite reflector and of course direct sunlight.
Came to a close with a relaxed parade, food and some dance to wind the week down ..
These young ones move and groove at speeds truly past me so there is some pleasant [intentional] blur ..
