52 weeks the 2020 Edition - World Bicycle Day

look at the world inside you

because that’s the one that matters

it’s not the one around you

that sees you like everyone else

and how much can something mean that does not care about individuality?

- it can mean the world. the world around you.

look at the world around you

because that’s the one that matters

it’s not the one inside you

that is only known by yourself

and how much can something mean that only exists in yourself?

- it can mean the world. your world.

I feel like I complain too much about the things I have to do for school. but to be honest, I spend most of my time during a week on school work. I had two exams on friday and I was so nervous and studied all the time. I think I almost broke down once, but I didn’t. and I’m so glad it’s over. and there are only 5 and a half months left until school is over. I can do that. and I feel better now, I had a relaxing weekend so far and I won’t have that much stress next week.

I still have a tumblr, by the way. :)

An early post this week as we have plans for the weekend. The leaves in the backyard created an interesting background and Della looked around right on cue.

For my last post in this fashion week series, I'm featuring Baiastice and Essenz, a gold dress to wrap this editorial up. It was so much fun making these posts and thinking about different combinations, can't wait to show you guys what I have planned next 😛

So I'd taken this already but forgotton and have been getting behind in my shot a week!

A take on a common shot but wanting to use some natural light from the patio doors to cast a smooth diffuse shadow to one side too. Hope you like.

Merci

No more placenta previa :)

Feeling baby's hiccups every once and a while. What an odd feeling!

Last week my love and I were on our way to botanical garden. But the traffic was dreadful, and since we couldn’t change the traffic we changed our route: outside the city…up to the mountains. And then down to a lake.

There was a summerish autumn in İstanbul. As we started climbing, the temperature started declining. When we reached the top, there was 15 degrees difference... and chilly yet most refreshing air…reviving us.

Most of the mountain trees had worn their autumn clothes, though some of them were still green. The trees in the city were still green back then.

Things had changed in the last week: the trees of the city started to wear their autumn clothes, too. The weeds and grass got green and greener because of soft rain and sunshine following each other, yet the trees tell me it is autumn!

Oh no it's roid week and all I have is some super expired film.

Oh no it's roid week and I can't remember how to use the instant film back for my Hassy.

Oh no it's roid week and I haven't touched a real camera in at least four years.

Oh no it's roid week and it's too dark inside my apartment for this film.

Oh no I can't remember how to peel this off.

Splurge.

“...they come to us, these restless dead,

Shrouds woven from the words of men,

With trumpets sounding overhead

(The walls of hope have grown so thin

And all our vaunted innocence

Has withered in this endless frost)

That promise little recompense

For all we risk, for all we've lost...” ~ Mira Grant

Week 44/52

This week held the beginning of something I do every year, and something that absolutely saves my gloomy Novembers: NaNoWriMo. For those of you who don't know what this is, it's a program in which you're supposed to write a 50.000 word novel in a month. And it's always such an amazing time — we have parties and meet ups, I always meet a fantastic group of people and get together with old friends and write write write. It's a good purging mechanism. You just type — it's about quantity, not quality (the quality is for the editing process), so you just let your fingers run across the keyboard, enter word wars, make fun of your own characters, write crack!chapters and just go with it. It's liberating, and fun, and makes me feel more accomplished than anything else I do during the year.

We made it to Friday, happy weekend :-)

Second Life: 52 Week Challenge 2025

Polaroid week, spring, day 4

I didn't really have time to shoot these days, but there's a idea stuck in my head since two weeks and I will try to make it real sometime next week. Moreover I got obsessed with a lens and I'm going to save money now, I hope a holiday job for some weeks this year will help me to get the money soon. I'm not really content with this photo here but that's probably due to my new preference for taking nature shoots. As you can see on my stream, haha.

it's day five already!

thank you for all the fantastic amounts of inspiration this week, polaroid people! :)

(if for some reason you haven't been introduced to the amazingness that is 'roid week.. here ya go.)

Me at 31 weeks pregnant. Time for new shirts!!

On a trip out today with the wife and happened upon this old abandoned barn on the side of the road near Daventry, Northamptonshire and just had to take a look. I took a few shots but this is one of the favourites and meets week 17's theme in my photo a week challenge.

I love the geometry of the beams and rafters which practically scream triangles, rectangles and probably even parallelograms everywhere. Certainly a testament to the workmanship given this roof is still standing when some of the brick walls have holes you could walk through! And no, I don't mean doors LOL

Shot on a Panasonic G3 converted for infrared photography, processed in Lightroom and Silver Efex.

This is an image that speaks to me of the isolation that has been imposed on us with the Covid 19 virus , the gate has a lock but the light is on .

There are too many things on the table but it was one of those moments which I had to capture! My son blowing on his girls faces making them laugh

Had a pretty good photog day......which always makes me happy. I have so many to look through and so I'm sure I'll be uploading more photos throughout the week.

I took the time today to lay out under the sun...and just enjoy the nature around me. The sky has been SO blue here in the Keys lately. I mean BLUE! It's gorgeous.

A little update on my continuing Anxiety situation. I had another visit with my doc who decided that he would like to try me on Buspar next. Though I'm still apprehensive about it, I will give it a shot. I am also starting counseling this week as well as the woman's bible study from my church. I am so excited about these things and look forward to seeing how this will help me. The funny thing is....I"m already feeling a difference in myself, just making these choices to find help in various avenues.

For the first time in a while....I am looking forward to the future. THough I know that there will be some challenges ahead, I'm really ready to take them as they come.

Plus I have my most awesome flickr friends to help me out when I need it!

much luv!

On Saturday, I did my first Moth Week event of the year. Three more to go. This time I was invited to setup for a city park for their first ever moth night. The next two are state parks. Then my friend's garden. I am not a moth expert (I like talking about spiders more), but I know enough and it is fun to share what I do know with people.

We had over 40 moth species at the park. I am sure there were many more, but it is hard to photograph everything while educating visitors about them. But that means less effort posting them all to iNaturalist. I would know hardly anything about moths if not for iNaturalist.

This Rindgea moth is very common here but can't be identified to species. I don't often get a chance to do an artistic moth shot. Moth sheets aren't very aesthetic. This one landed on some leaves just as I turned off my lights.

Struggling with this weeks theme as the weather here in the UK has warmed up suprisingly , however after my wild camp in the Lakes I woke up to find no frost on my tent but the fields in the valley bottom were white with frost.

that's right, drinking straight out of the milk jug. (I swear I have more class than this... usually)

there's not a lot of point to this, I just thought it'd be kind of silly. I thought (literally for almost an hour) about photoshopping my toes... they're something I both love and hate about myself. If you look close (particularly in the right photo) the toe next to my pinky toe is actually the shortest (on both feet!)... which is something I've never seen on anyone but me before. I've seen all kind of weird toes, but mine are original! weird... if anyone knows anyone with toes like me, I'd be interested to know! haha

thanks for all your thoughts and prayers through the week for my grandpa and my family and I. he's 82 and stubborn. fainted and went to the hospital and had to have emergency surgery, had an aneurism, breathing machine... scary stuff. I've been keeping in contact with my family and he's doing much better. Still very sick, weak and confused, but talking and laughing and concerned about the cows getting out of the pasture. haha. he still has a long road ahead of him and as I said... he's 82, but he has a lot of fight, and a lot of sass in him so we're praying for the best.

The stuffed dog is a sort of "hello!" to my friend April. I met her in the 6th grade and she came up from Nebraska to stay with me thursday-sunday and she was with me when I got the dog. It was nice to have her here in my city <3

I am one of those wannabe photogs that will go and buy my props...which end up being used once or twice then sit on the shelf for the next x number of years. This is a second hand book I discovered in a very cool bookstore back when I did my first Project 365 in 2011.

Looking through my first project for these images, I can see I've come a long long way...learning so much in between. Can't recommend a 365 enough to anyone who loves a challenge and want to discover what photography means to them.
