I wanted at least one good sunrise during my 10 days in Scotland and was lucky to get this one.
Alarm was set each day for 3.50am! Scrambled out of our campervan, dashed across a golf course to reach Brora beach. Had spotted this fence leading down to the beach the day before and used it as foreground interest, along with the sand dune grass. Took many shots and came away happy and then went back to bed!
Done for A Fashionable Challenge. The theme is Carnival and I got inspiration from the Venice Carnival.
Fleet Week 2015 San Francisco USS CORONADO.
The Coronado is a "littoral combat ship", designed to be fast, and able to sail in close to shore. It has a number of uses: landing men and vehicles on shore, launching helicopters, and doing anti-submarine and anti-mine operations. Designed especially to repel swarm boat attacks.
Week 09 - 26 February - 4 March
Well one of my bucket list shots is to do a concert shoot. And not just any concert, but a big arena/stadium venue kind of concert... sadly, most venues stop you from even using a phone to take a photo.
Why? I don't know. I mean it's not like anyone's going to make any money from the images; and even if you shoot a video and post it on youtube, other than further promoting the artiste, there isn't much benefit to the person who shot the video. And I don't think that I'm alone in thinking like this.
Anyway, this weeks shot is of the Foo Fighters, namely Dave. Got a new little canon point and shoot with an 18x zoom. I like it. Still would much rather be standing with my 80-200mm rather than sneaking my little Canon point and shoot. More next week.
Kerry at 38 weeks, sat by the bedroom window. When I showed her this picture she couldn't believe what she was seeing and it really brought home how real her situation was.
Ten weeks in and I already have my first missed week. Real life got in the way and week 9 just slipped right past me.
If Mickey could, I'd ask him to remind me each week, but knowing how he likes to hide from the camera, I doubt he would ;).
18 weeks pregnant!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Feeling baby's movement a lot more often now. Not very strongly though.
My ultrasound appointment is on May 28th, and my next appointment with the obstetrician will be about 2 weeks after that. At the appointment I will get to know the results of my blood test (testing for a high risk pregnancy).
Technical: Panning
Use the technique of panning to capture a subject in movement. Panning is using a slower shutter speed while following the subject with the camera to create the sense of movement in an image.
cc welcome
17/52: Sunrise from Oshoro
July 22 - July 28
I have been working on a time-lapse project with my friend who is a movie director.
We have decided to make Otaru city is our location, however we had not been able to go out to shoot or find locations till last Wednesday.
We left Sapporo around 0:30, and headed to Otaru. We had a few locations we wanted to check out, so we took our time driving and looking for somewhere to shoot.
A place I wanted to check to shoot stars wasn't good because there were lots of traffic lights, and also a day after full moon didn't help, however we found a good location to shoot moon, mountain, and clouds, so we took one time lapse there and left to check out the place called Oshoro.
By the time we got to Oshoro, it was like 3:00 but the it was already getting brighter, so we decided to shoot at this location till the sun rose and this shot is from about 1/3 of the timelapse shots.
After this we looked for another location, but too tired, so drove back to Sapporo...
It was good fun and need to shoot more!
I hope you had a great week!
If you are interested....
I wasn't sure which photo I should use for 52 weeks. So I put one outtake into the comments.
Monotonous landscape? Not really! This power pole whispered unmistakable: " Take a picture of me for the weekly theme!"
week #05/52 for the group 52 of 2013
The theme this week is: Monochrome
Well this week was my first week officially out of school and it feels good for now lol I hear it gets boring after but Ill try to make something out of it. Any who yesterday was my one of my best buddy's wedding and he let me shot it so I have some work cut out for me. But on Thursday after watching some videos from John and ExtraMedium I decided to try it out with this picture.
some of the steps that I did in between were inspired by CaliforniaCPA and adding of the clouds and minor stuff too were inspired by ExtraMedium . I would admit that I did cheat with the HDR that I created the over exposed and underexposed one but it still looks pretty sick I think :P
This is the same place where the wedding took place I wanted to shot it again but on Friday it had the wedding decorations so I couldn't take it again I would have waited for there not to be a shadow on the house and no glaring either but oh well I still like it from what I had to what i created
Oh mom made up for being so busy all weekend....Weather was perfect and we played ball until my tongue was nearly dragging on the ground.
Week End
Another image from last Wednesday's amazing sunset. This was taken well after the sun sank below the horizon way to left fame. The sky above the Olympics suddenly light up with this orange glow reaching way north. Bonus colors in that part of the sky reminiscent of what's normally seen in July or early August.
Have a fantastic weekend! Go Seahawks!
I finally managed to put my four seasons photo together. You can see the back of my house during the seasons. No snow in winter though.
Week 9 - Theme: Express Yourself - I love being able to express myself and my moods with nail polish!
This week I went to AHHAA centre in Tartu, Estonia. Then I saw this.
Also first day shooting with my new Nikon d610. Loved it!
I just noticed I had some mistakes in the numbers of weeks, but now it seems to be ok.
I had my written french exam today, for the last past week I didnt have time to take any pictures, my Harry Potter project is late too. I have oral exam on thursday, so maybe tomorrow or by the end of the week I'll catch up with Harry!!! For now, enjoy!
