Taken last night near Onehunga Bridge. Decided late that we would go out to watch the sunset on Sunday evening, a great end to the week. At first it didn't look like much, then the clouds light up vibrant red.

There's nothing I like taking pictures of more than old abandoned barns and buildings!

Representing candy without actually using it in the photo.

My submission for week 34 Teleidoscope: Elements. It is a day late because I, frankly, just couldn't think of anything original to create for it.

Lost my clothes and then my body in this weeks Challenge

When I went for a walk that day, I recognized this old VW Käfer. Actually I have seen it many times before, but it never grabbed my attention. However, today it did.

And finally spring is about to come :-)

Week 10 - 3-10 March

Just over a week to go to the start of the Grand Prix Season.... While I'm not a big Ferrari or Vettel fan, I can't help but like the colours in the shot, besides the Red Bull colours may not have had the same impact. Vroom Vroom. More next week.

Had to feature these 2 again for my shot of the week. We were at Artvo and kids and adults had lots of fun putting ourselves in different pictures. More next week.

I'm not as behind on this as I thought i would be.

I can't believe it's christmas next week, and 2014 is almost over.

Milou’s week (and ours of course) has been colored by his hotspot, but it’s getting better and he’s not listless like a few days ago. Sigh of relief

week#145 Story telling

This was taken in the first few weeks of our lockdown when even here on the farm we were being extra careful Beau who lives in the 2nd house on our property and across the paddock would come over and talk to me through the window , but that slowly turned into coming into the house and the eventually to hugs again, hopeless we are.

Schipluiden is a village in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The village was founded relatively late in the 15th century.

Week 2

This week's prompt was "rule of thirds." I use this compositional rule often but I also like to break the rule when it works for the image. I took an image I liked better than this yesterday, but it didn't follow the rule of thirds so I chose this one instead.

The roads in this area were a bit worse than I had anticipated so getting around this area proved to be "interesting" early in the morning.

I finally received my Bird Buddy bird feeder and now I'm spying on the birds in our garden.

Spring indeed and a glorious day! Catching up with my photo a week and took this in my local graveyard.

The new growth of primroses were starting to come through in abundance and this little one caught my eye with the dappled spring sunshine highlighting the flowers. Additionally it's a perfect shot for both the theme of Spring and the Low Key technique challenge this month.

Shot on a Panasonic G3 converted for infrared photography, processed in Lightroom and Silver Efex.

Our little bear turns one tomorrow, its been an interesting and wonderful experience documenting part of her life for a year - her sister is demanding i start one featuring her now that i'm finishing up!

Week fifty two's picture will feature cake and candles (in black and white with a square crop of course!)

For Kim - Week 5 challenge

This is an old assignment so I hope by now things are better. If not.. this quote has had a lot of meaning to me in difficult times & I hope it does the same for you.

Start with a simple image.

Kim Klassen textures: Bien & Oro

Any border effects: Grunge edge 2

Two-tiered composition: I didn't really do this but I did add visual interest by adding in 3 rectangles.

A couple of weeks ago I posted another picture of Flynn, peeking out of the crop. It's more of a close-up, so you can't tell but it was taken in this same field. Since then, we've had wonderful warm, sunny weather & the rapeseed has been springing upwards so fast, you can almost watch it growing! Haha, the crop is now so tall & dense in many places, that not even sneaky, creepy Flynn can easily slip between the plants, so he's taken to skulking along the edges instead. At this particular corner of the field though, the crop is less dense & Flynn knows it & he still likes to vanish on me!

I only managed to get this photo because Flynn was hanging around for a few seconds, watching - to confirm which way I was going next. The footpath diverges at this corner & I like to keep Flynn on his toes by taking different routes, so he makes sure to stand where he can easily see me! As soon as Flynn can guess whether I'm going to turn left or right, he slips away into the plants & any opportunity for (dog!) photos is gone! Sure enough, after I took this, I only took a few more steps, before Flynn decided he knew my intentions & promptly turned tail & disappeared! Once he's out of sight, my main clues for Flynn's whereabouts comes from the occasional shaking of the flowers & every now & again, an alarmed pheasant shoots up into the air, letting out a surprised squawk as they go - presumably after they nearly got trodden on, by a certain collie dog!

My house has a strange little room that has doorway on each of the 4 walls.

Since I just uploaded the one picture of David with the feathers floating around, I wanted to do something different with this theme. It turned into a very dark concept but I definitely think succeeded making something different from the photo with David.

I could of probably done better with this photo but it was a busy week. Did this around 1am last night and just got done editing it today. I like that this project forces me to take pictures even on my busy weeks, since I'm so set on completing this project without missing anything. I find that a lot of my picture require me to make fake blood in my kitchen alone past midnight xD.

[ 50 / 52 Weeks - 10 - 16 december ]

This week subject: Winter.

Niente di che. Avevo un'altra idea. Poi è arrivata la neve. Tanta. Troppa. E continua.

Quindi mi sono limitata a fotografare gli alberi dalla finestra.

Giganti silenziosi e spettrali.

Nothing special.

Silent spectral giants.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Tried some portraiture this week. A work colleague bravely agreed to a few shots in a spare room at our office. Used the rooms spot lights plus a reflector to bounce light back onto her face. Applied a gradient map for the b&w effect and cloned some rogue hairs out.
