Milou’s week (and ours of course) has been colored by his hotspot, but it’s getting better and he’s not listless like a few days ago. Sigh of relief

The last part of the 52 week project for 2016 was another self portrait. I do a lot of shooting outside, thus the inserted background. The reflection? A bathroom mirror. :-)
And yes, I was a week late. :-)
I used a Analog Efects Pro 2 for the old look.
I created the matting and frame with Photoshop.
As always, thoughtful feedback, constructive criticisms, and suggestions are always appreciated. As always, I have used tools at my disposal to interpret the original raw file. Use of this photo without permission is not permitted.
week#145 Story telling
This was taken in the first few weeks of our lockdown when even here on the farm we were being extra careful Beau who lives in the 2nd house on our property and across the paddock would come over and talk to me through the window , but that slowly turned into coming into the house and the eventually to hugs again, hopeless we are.
Schipluiden is a village in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The village was founded relatively late in the 15th century.

The moon and a figure on the green heart lend interest to this picture of the green heart. The path is at an angle as it leads down to the library and I caught the moon

Week 2
This week's prompt was "rule of thirds." I use this compositional rule often but I also like to break the rule when it works for the image. I took an image I liked better than this yesterday, but it didn't follow the rule of thirds so I chose this one instead.
The roads in this area were a bit worse than I had anticipated so getting around this area proved to be "interesting" early in the morning.

Spring indeed and a glorious day! Catching up with my photo a week and took this in my local graveyard.
The new growth of primroses were starting to come through in abundance and this little one caught my eye with the dappled spring sunshine highlighting the flowers. Additionally it's a perfect shot for both the theme of Spring and the Low Key technique challenge this month.
Shot on a Panasonic G3 converted for infrared photography, processed in Lightroom and Silver Efex.
Our little bear turns one tomorrow, its been an interesting and wonderful experience documenting part of her life for a year - her sister is demanding i start one featuring her now that i'm finishing up!
Week fifty two's picture will feature cake and candles (in black and white with a square crop of course!)
For Kim - Week 5 challenge
This is an old assignment so I hope by now things are better. If not.. this quote has had a lot of meaning to me in difficult times & I hope it does the same for you.
Start with a simple image.
Kim Klassen textures: Bien & Oro
Any border effects: Grunge edge 2
Two-tiered composition: I didn't really do this but I did add visual interest by adding in 3 rectangles.

A couple of weeks ago I posted another picture of Flynn, peeking out of the crop. It's more of a close-up, so you can't tell but it was taken in this same field. Since then, we've had wonderful warm, sunny weather & the rapeseed has been springing upwards so fast, you can almost watch it growing! Haha, the crop is now so tall & dense in many places, that not even sneaky, creepy Flynn can easily slip between the plants, so he's taken to skulking along the edges instead. At this particular corner of the field though, the crop is less dense & Flynn knows it & he still likes to vanish on me!
I only managed to get this photo because Flynn was hanging around for a few seconds, watching - to confirm which way I was going next. The footpath diverges at this corner & I like to keep Flynn on his toes by taking different routes, so he makes sure to stand where he can easily see me! As soon as Flynn can guess whether I'm going to turn left or right, he slips away into the plants & any opportunity for (dog!) photos is gone! Sure enough, after I took this, I only took a few more steps, before Flynn decided he knew my intentions & promptly turned tail & disappeared! Once he's out of sight, my main clues for Flynn's whereabouts comes from the occasional shaking of the flowers & every now & again, an alarmed pheasant shoots up into the air, letting out a surprised squawk as they go - presumably after they nearly got trodden on, by a certain collie dog!

I got laser eye surgery on Thursday. It fixed my vision to 20/20, but unfortunately, I didn't get laser vision...
Since I just uploaded the one picture of David with the feathers floating around, I wanted to do something different with this theme. It turned into a very dark concept but I definitely think succeeded making something different from the photo with David.
I could of probably done better with this photo but it was a busy week. Did this around 1am last night and just got done editing it today. I like that this project forces me to take pictures even on my busy weeks, since I'm so set on completing this project without missing anything. I find that a lot of my picture require me to make fake blood in my kitchen alone past midnight xD.

[ 50 / 52 Weeks - 10 - 16 december ]
This week subject: Winter.
Niente di che. Avevo un'altra idea. Poi è arrivata la neve. Tanta. Troppa. E continua.
Quindi mi sono limitata a fotografare gli alberi dalla finestra.
Giganti silenziosi e spettrali.
Nothing special.
Silent spectral giants.
Tried some portraiture this week. A work colleague bravely agreed to a few shots in a spare room at our office. Used the rooms spot lights plus a reflector to bounce light back onto her face. Applied a gradient map for the b&w effect and cloned some rogue hairs out.
This photo is serving 2 purposes. Number one, to mark my 18th week of pregnancy. Number two, to show off this absolutely gorgeous blanket my dear cousin(-in-law), Allison, made for me. I am so in love with this blanket. Handmade blankets are quite possibly my favorite thing. I still have one that my great-grandmother made... plus I've collected several from Ian's mom and sister, and now this glorious addition! I just love them all. They're the kind of things that are so special that you hold onto them forever and cherish them and love them. They are the best heirlooms I think. (Plus, I am the sort of person who is always chilly, so I need lots of blankets!) Allison has also promised to make the baby a blanket once we know what sort of color scheme we will require.
So yes, I am now 18 weeks pregnant. Self-portraiture while pregnant is very strange. My initial reaction when I saw these pictures were "holy crap, I look so big" - which is certainly ok, but hard to get used to after years of trying to avoid looking big. It's just a whole new way of seeing myself.
I'm not the only person in this picture, and that still just blows my mind.
:)
Week 16: Eggsactly
I really feel like my muse has deserted me. I made this image just to keep up with my one 52 week project but I simply do not feel like taking photos, editing, or creating. I am going to Montreal with my family on Monday for a concert and I am really hoping that helps break me out of this funk.
A another week of seek-and-find at the last minute... but it's colorful. 14/52

“Listen, Bob. A gun is just a tool. No better and no worse than any other tool, a shovel- or an axe or a saddle or a stove or anything. Think of it always that way. A gun is as good- and as bad- as the man who carries it. Remember that.” Jack Schaefer
Not the most inspired shot ever. But, I'm up to date on the 52 week project shots now. Single speedlight (nikon SB700 )about 4 feet above and to the side, camera left aimed down on the pencil holder at 1/4 power. ISO100, 1/100th, F11.
44/52: River Marshmallows
January 27 - February 2
Well, 8 more weeks to complete this project and I know when I finish this project, Spring will have arrive!!
I have learnt heaps through the project, and I will do my best till the end.
Anyways one of my favorite Winter scenes is those marshmallows on the rivers.
They have such clean shapes and always make me smile when I look at them.

This week's prompt gave me an excuse to experiment and fail repeatedly. I really like how my sunflower turned out though. 28/52
