This ominous scene pales in comparison to what the folks in Florida are about to go through. Hurricane Ian has nearly reached CAT 5 severity with eye wall winds of 150 mph and gusts up to 190. A massive storm surge is expected to make things that much worse. Say a prayer or hold a good thought for all those poor folks in the path of this hurricane.

The morning was clear but it started to snow. We got maybe an inch. It was so pretty!

Icelandic Weather

There wasn't a lot of fall color at Allerton Park near Monticello, Illinois yesterday with the exception of a few scattered maple trees with bright yellow leaves. This old red weathered birdhouse caught my eye with one of these maples in the background shining with the late afternoon life. This birdhouse looks like it has seen many fall seasons come and go.
