April in Iowa typically brings an increase in wind speeds and it's also the start of the severe thunderstorm and tornado season. This scene is looking down a country lane at a small family farm in Keokuk County, Iowa.

Hello everyone ... long time, no see. I've been spending a bit of time wandering the coastline over the past months ... mainly near home in South East Scotland, but up in the North West, when it's been permissible, too. This series is of some close-ups of the sedimentary sandstone and mudstone rocks I've been looking at. I hope they give an impression of the forms, textures, tones and 'designs' that always delight and amaze me in weathered rocks like these.
or so they tell us--for a bit at least. It's been one blast after another for months, it seems!

On the Elbdeich, the clouds just fly past. The path divides green grass and bright reeds.

Inspiration struck me tonight, but thanks to everyone for their suggestions. They got the creative juices flowing again. I considered "The Calm Before The Storm" but the fact that the winds were @ 40 mph belied the "calm" part. It was anything but that day.
Central Texas, during rare strong storms in November. I waited in position for this cell to graze me for quite some time, and it was worth the wait. It put on a great little lightning show.

Another day and another storm.
Lots of schools closed, accidents, people falling and even our neighbor who is 67 had a stroke after he went in from snow blowing and shoveling. Prayers for him and all others.
I'm rusted and weathered
