It's still feeling warm here. When you live 5,000 feet in the air you are that much closer to the sun, so the heat can feel fairly intense. With the humidity it will feel warmer then it really is out there.

We were being chased by rain clouds yesterday. It was an amazing sight. If you look close up you can see how the rain hits the surface of the sea.

This butterfly was very effectively flying around our yard. As it moved from flower to flower, I never noticed how damaged its wings were. It didn't seem to affect its flying ability that I could tell. I wonder what causes this - wind? rain?

This seems to be my week for observing beauty in nature that is not perfect, and yet striking nevertheless.

Winter Time: Cold Weather, Roads are salty - windshield covered in road grime, with no fluid left. Difficult to see when on those freeways......time to top up the levels. Anti-freeze is deadly to pets and animals - dispose of properly and leave NO spillage. Therefore, I use a funnel!

I went back to check on the two common spotted orchids in Barrow town centre this afternoon.With a wind gusting to 60mph and heavy rain,they were taking a real beating.
