I love the combination of Architecture and People. To me, B&W suits it.

From The Mercury News: "Northwestern Mutual – “Waves of Hope”: In this playful animated entry, a day at the beach represents more than just catching a wave. Northwestern Mutual Foundation’s Childhood Cancer Program started a wave of giving in 2012, with the help of the company’s employees and financial representatives nationwide, by raising millions of dollars to fund childhood cancer research and family support. Through a partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, the program’s wave helped support the research of Dr. Yael Mossé from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Mossé developed a breakthrough treatment for neuroblastoma which eventually helped Edie Gilger and her family, who are riding on the float. Edie was six months when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, and is now 7 and in remission. The wave of giving continues with Steve Guinan, a Northwestern Mutual managing partner from Philadelphia, and cancer survivor, whose office recently directed $100,000 through the Northwestern Mutual Foundation to Dr. Mossé to continue her work to find cures for more children."

Astunning Aqua wave breaks onto the beach

The first calm day after a storm we can always hear the waves up at our house. The wind has dropped but it takes a while for the sea to calm down. This picture was taken after a recent storm has passed, on a flat calm morning. I was covered in salt within minutes but I didn't mind.

Thanks for Viewing..

Sometime you must be prepared to face the worst possible scenario..

Too intense "hopping" with the bromoil brush damaged the emulsion in the highlights...

Bromoiling is rough business!

I was cutting through a Kyoto neighborhood to get to the train station when I encountered this man and his dog. Even though I was a complete stranger and we didn't speak the same language, he understood that I thought his dog was cute and let me hold him. Afterwards, I asked the man if I could take his photo, and this was the shot I got. The way he looks at his dog makes me feel honored that he trusted me to hold his dog.

A trip down to Priest's cove, at Cape Cornwall yesterday was well worth it, the waves were massive, lucky that the rocks near the cove were breaking them down.

This wave was much larger than others and hit me and the camera square on.

The brakeman (or fireman back then) waves as I photogrpah this train in 1974 at Griffith IN. I bet they didn't even bother to call me in to Homeland Security. Oops..I don't think there was HS in 1974.

The season the sunset would like to take a picture, and when it's a sea,

I go to the coast where it's still quiet in front of .

The surfer who are several as it was expected.

By the degree the tourists who are or need, a beach is zen.

Quiet!

The time when I have arrived at the site, already, already, the sun

It had begun to tilt to west, but I was used to going.

It was a beach, so the photography point was also decided.

Empty cloud goes off with dusk, just like, movie

It's clear in blue little like the screen which is so.

The light will be soon burned already in the surrounding building,

I take the wave which presses against a sandy beach delicately.

It's decided especially and is it dim rich of feelings in the setting sun?

It's pushed towards the twilight time tenderheartedly,

It's seen at the timing of wave until it becomes dark.

It was delivered.

The Wave Machine

Forgot this one!

If I were 20 again... I would be hanging out here!! Hard to get a bad shot of this woman she was fantastic!!

We, we waves

That are rocking the winds

To rest-

Green cradles, we waves!

Wet are we, and salty;

Leap like flames of fire-

Wet flames are we:

Burning, extinguishing;

Cleansing, replenishing;

Bearing, engendering.

We, we waves,

That are rocking the winds

To rest!

The waves at the surface of the ocean are called wind waves. Waves are set in motion by winds of varying strength and varying size travelling at different speeds. The sea spray that is blown from the waves is called 'spindrift'.

Rolling in to wave and say gday to you all ;)

Tried a black and white version of these waves hitting the rocks at Sutro Baths.. Hope you like it :)
