My vintage 1940's-era Elgin wristwatch, which was a recent wedding present.
Strobist: two SB-600s into a DIY lightbox. This is the best shot I could get after dozens of setups with this watch; it has a curved glass front and the face itself has a slight curve, so it reflects nearly everything. Post: darkened the background a bit, tweaked the curves, and cloned out some of the dust and scratches.
More detail: one strobe fired at 1/64 into the box CL, just a bit higher than the watch. Another was fired at 1/4 against white foamcore angled directly over the box. Both were triggered by CLS.
This project was inspired by Ming Thein's watch gallery.

In my description of a pendant I was wearing in the photo of Victor and I, I erred. It was not the antique pocket watch on the left, but my Gallic locket as seen on the right. On the reverse side is the well-known
"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again
Mat God hold you in the hollow of his hand."
We've had big storms in L.A. all week but the kitties have wanted out anyway. Lucy was out there getting windblown today and like her normal self. Here she was looking up to see rain just starting to fall again.

I felt it sent the wrong message to title this one "I'd Like to Brand You." :)

Storm Romeo watch in slate. Shot hand held with a Tamron 90mm macro lens (the slight lack of sharpness is not the fault of the lens and I need longer arms :).

The colour orange suffuses the scene as a lone person watches the sun heading for the horizon. Lovely warm tones reflect from the sky and water in a glorious coloured sunset.
