Forgot how challenging it was to do this shot when I originally did it last year. Getting the exposure, flash and right angle in such a small space when you've got the camera on a timer is a nightmare but I'm pleased with the result.
Aquí está el pequeñín de la casa iniciándose en las tareas del hogar. ¡Para que luego digan de la juventud!
Bueno... en realidad está metiendo coches en la lavadora, pero lo que importa es que le pone mucha voluntad :-)
When I started this project, I envisioned capturing an image of the back of a jet engine and comparing it with a close up of a flower. I haven't been up close with any jet engines, so the inside of out new waching machine will work for now.
My maternal grandmother, who lived in the country, had a washing machine just like this one when I was a small child. I remember helping her feed the wet clothing through the ringer on the top and then piling the wet clothes in a basket to be hung on the line. Great memories of summer days in the country
I'm not sure I mind the washing and drying part...it's more the folding and putting away I could do without!
It's always worried me...where DO all the odd socks go?
The idea for this bout of unnecessary randomness was sparked by a conversation we had on a bus one morning with an overly-chatty woman.
Thanks to Mr steiner to posing so beautifully and for allowing me, once again, to do hideous things to his lovely face!
Back soon with something more sensible...maybe! ;-)
Expired 35mm film, first put through the washing machine, then dried ( in a dark room) with hairdryer before shooting. The results are a bit more subtle than the roll I put through the dishwasher.

While walking in our neighborhood, I saw this washing machine sitting on the side of the street. I appeared to be abandoned. There was an empty bottle of beer lying on the ground right next to the washing machine. Someone must have been drunk.
Another roll of cheap expired 35mm film, first put in washing machine, then dried, before shooting.

Rite Aid 200 ISO (expired).

Tirada con la GoPro y editada en un iPhone con SnapSeed.
El resultado no es malo teniendo en cuenta que la iluminación era muy pobre.
our washing machine has broken down just in time for christmas which means that i have to pay a visit to the laundrette, this could be a problem as i haven't really used one before - only for a service wash and i guess that is lazy and expensive.
do i have to take a book and sit there for like two hours? b o r i n g

a small break from my late images... Friday-home... reprogramming my systems...
have a great weekend!
The foreground interest isn't a piece of rock but a large section of peat that is slowly being eroded by the sea.
There was also a lot of foam being whipped up by the sea that was being blown across the beach and into air. if i had my IPod I could have had my own foam party.

I've always wanted to take photos in a laundrette .... and so when we found ourselves walking past this laundrette after the market on Sunday I had to go in. So did Muriel .... next time I'll take the wide angle or fisheye ...
J'ai toujours voulu prendre des photo dans une laverie ... et donc quand nous nous sommes trouvées devant cette laverie dimanche matin, il fallait y entrer avec Muriel ... pour la prochaine fois j'aurai mon grand angle ou fisheye ...
...loudly on spin. I think the dampers are pooped. I know it is not the bearings. Two new dampers arrive tomorrow... hopefully that will solve the issue.
The mess in the background - I had to empty the cupboard under the sink to get to the connections.
Our washing machine gets a hard life. Our family consists of 5 people and a dog. That's a lot of washing.
Looked at Jon's shiny metal drum and couldn't resist peeking into the unknown.
