I've been wanting this shot for so long, there was just one day when the snow was down at ground level in the Glen when I was up, so I just had to go get it. What a view to wake up to each morning.
Not wanting to risk a fall, the snails would have overtaken me today.. This used to lead to the Rainbow Bridge. The bridge was removed a few years ago and it is a road to nowhere now. I used to love this walk. There is a gate to go through now which prevents fly tipping. I once found and reported a huge pile of Asbestos waste there.

Walking to the Upper Falls on the trail from the campground.
Not many things as peaceful as a running stream near your tent at night. My all time favorite sites to set up camp were sites #14 and #17, both near the stream.
After hiking half the day, fixing supper over the Coleman stove and washing dishes with hot soapy water, I'd pull up a chair and listen to a favorite local talk show on AM.
Everybody needs to get away once in a while. If not for anything else, but to remind you who you are..........

I wanted to take a photo of my guy and I erotically without being naked. I think its more erotic cos I hope the composition of the pic displays that urgency in desire that makes wanting so needed and you both seek satisfaction where ever you can access. In this case a dark, misty laneway.
Earlier this week I visited the National Zoo in Washington, DC; I had not been in several years. I strongly prefer photographing birds/animals in a natural setting, but I wanted to check out their recently opened "Bird House" and the zoo in general. The best I could tell, all of the birds in the Bird House were local species that a dedicated birder could see here in the area. I only saw a couple species I've not photographed elsewhere. Additionally, outside they have some larger exotic species not native to this area. I'll post a few shots in my Photostream and put the rest in a dedicated album for anyone wanting to see more of what to expect at the zoo.
For the record, the zoo appears to be very well managed and would be a delight for most. They get about 2-million visitors a year. You can read more about the Bird House here: nationalzoo.si.edu/news/bird-house-reopens-smithsonians-n...

Wanting to remember the sweet decadence of his face, she turns to him, allowing one final glance, before she walks away...
Wanting him is hard to get.
Loving him is hard to regret.
Losing him is hard to accept.
But with all the hurt you have felt, letting go is the most painful yet.
I've been wanting to take a photo like that for a while. For years, I had seen those foggy photos of Vancouver, without even having an opportunity to get out there and take it when the moment was right. I wouldn't say the moment was perfect when I was there, as the fog was pretty thin and only covered parts of the landscape well enough and only for very short amounts of time. But I'm happy with that one shot I got.
I have to confess, it is heavily processed. I used 8 shots to reduce the noise, and the stars come from a stock image with open source license (very heavily modified). I really wanted to capture them myself, using the same focal length I used for the landscape (135mm) and pointing the camera towards the same direction as the shot was taken to make it "astronomically accurate". But I don't foresee any time soon when I'll be able to. The conditions probably won't be right for a little while, and my schedule is too busy for me to go out at night again for a long time. I wish I had more time to shoot.
As for those who might worry that the photo is a composite, I want to tell you that I wanted to create an image, above anything else. Yes, that night, I could see the stars. But I didn't have enough space in my bag to bring my tracker. So while the exact image is not 100% accurate to what I saw on that night, it's the general idea that matters to me and I want to be open about it. My intention is not to deceive anyone.
Been wanting to shoot at this place for a while, but just haven't had the energy, haha. This shot took quite a lot . . . . . hiking into the waterfall with dress and equipment, some insane metering, a flash in the water behind them, and then having to manually focus the shot in the dark. Just happy that something came out!

I have been wanting to build another Yavin 4 MOC for awhile, especially one with a Y-wing (which is my favorite Star Wars vehicle). I decided to use Jerac's design for a Y-Wing because none of mine were turning nearly as nice as his design. If you haven't go check out Jerac his instructions are on Brickvault's website. I used his initial design then modified it to my liking. I wanted to make the base bigger but I ran out of tan pieces. I had so much fun doing this build and I hope you enjoy!

Exploring the theme insomnia. Might consider a small series. Depends on a few things, including whether you like this photo. It's been a while since I've done anything really new. In my opinion that is.
This photo (and I suppose, any I might do later) is supposed to be slightly blurry...! I'm also quite fond of how the colours came out.
The weather was perfect when I took this photo: it was pouring with rain and the wind made me feel very unstable in my posing. It worked for this photo.
PS - My hair has been growing, couple of centimeters make a lot of difference. Yay!

On this day I feel deep sadness...that governments have the power to deceive...that people still are dying, fighting, killing. There was a time where blood purchased freedom. But what of this now? We know better...

Sorry it's been so long since my last upload! I've been super critical of my photography lately and I was going through a bit of a funk. I actually quite like this one though, so yay!
I took this is a somewhat crowded area (right across the street from a country club) and three different people offered to take my picture for me. Also, a car full of boys whistled at me as they drove by, and a man driving by slowed down to make sure I wasn't taking his picture. Oh people... (:

Our dog Emma looking outside and possibly making that big decision as to go out or not.
The only problem with allowing her this privilege was the constant in and out and the flies that would find their way inside.
Happy Saturday everyone.

Been wanting to try this kind of shot for a while but keep forgetting :P
Taken near Blanchetown, South Australia.
I've been wanting to shoot this galaxy for awhile and I pulled out my gear last night to do it finally. It is to the south and pretty low, near the horizon. I have to shoot towards the town of Taos to get this galaxy. I was unaware of the star cluster, NGC 288 before I began shooting last night.

My mount was polar aligned with SharpCap (what an amazing system for aligning). I'm not comfortable using my SCT as my lens yet. My solution is to piggyback my Sony a7RIII and adapted Nikkor 500mm f/4 P Ai-s on a ADM dovetail rail on the top of my optical tube. I used DeepSkyStacker to combine all frames and then processed the TIFF file in Photoshop. I stretched the 32 bit file and used Gradient XT on the image. I then made it a 16 bit file and stretched in level, then curves. I used the color sampler tool and levels to do my best to keep the background space black. I then using my skillset and relied on Astronomy Tools Action Set, and dodging and burning a bit to give the image the finishing touches.
An image i have been wanting to capture for some time. This is the wreck of the trawler Admiral Von Tromp in Saltwick Bay. The sea stack of Black Nab looms ominously in the back ground.
A challenging place to shoot with only one way in and out around the headland. Despite the meticulous planning with regards to the tide, the simple fact that once dark you can no longer work out where the sea is played havoc with the mind.
Standing in the dark for two hours was enough for me especially after i started wondering whether the wreck was "haunted". Once that stupid thought entered my mind that was it!! Would have loved to have got another hour in on the stacking but am pleased with the result all the same. If you are thinking of visiting please pay attention to the tides and stay safe.
Come behind you as you are relaxing and whispers, I been wanting you all day and I want you like right now.

Wanting,
lusting,
to be held,
to be loved,
to feel warmth,
to feel your beating heart.
Wanting to be sheltered from the cold,
heartless winds.
Falling into invisible arms;
into an abyss of love.
Wishing,
hoping,
that my desires will be filled;
my desires of loving warmth.
Wanting to be held,
comforted,
loved.
Dreaming of passionate embraces,
of tender kisses,
loving words,
romantic nights.
Waiting for undying love

Though it hasn’t any flight feathers yet, this downy Laysan albatross feels the cooling breeze and perhaps a little lift under its wing. The drab camouflage down is a good insulator for cold nights and sunscreen for searing daylight, but not conducive to laminar airflow. In a month or so, this albatross (Phoebastria immutabilis) will be abandoned by its parents, have beautiful brown and white feathers, will learn to fly on its own with its two meter wingspan, and with an urge programmed into its genes set off to glide over thousands of miles of Pacific Ocean.
Hi guys! I've been wanting to do this photo for so long! This is a selfie looking very ghostlike. I put photos with detail in the comments, zoomed in at 100% :-D
I shot this with all the desks backwards, and then flipped the image in post to make the text backwards as well.
And a fun fact - I was trying to figure out what to write on the chalk board and Olivia suggested I write "Fear is the mind killer", which is what I have tattooed on my arm! So we did :-)
Not the moon. A flower
on the other side of the water.
The water sweeps past in flood,
dragging a whole tree by the hair,
a barn, a bridge. The flower
sings on the far bank.
Not a flower, a bird calling
hidden among the darkest trees, music
over the water, making a silence
out of the brown folds of the river's cloak.
The moon. No, a young man walking
under the trees. There are lanterns
among the leaves.
Tender, wise, merry,
his face is awake with its own light,
I see it across the water as if close up.
A jester. The music rings from his bells,
gravely, a tune of sorrow,
I dance to it on my riverbank.

I have been wanting to capture the glow of the red leaves on the little Japanese maple at night backlit by the street lights. I was afraid the slightest of breezes was going to make this nearly impossible, and as it was it took multiple attempts to get a fairly decent if not perfect focus. I did captured the glow,if not the fine detail so easily missed at night anyway.

I've been wanting to shoot this for so long, actually taken whilst in the Noctography Workshop, it started raining so I retreated inside to photograph the Bentley. Really happy with how it's come out, can't wait to shoot it again.

I have been wanting to take this shot for ages from Church Hill looking northwards towards Alnmouth. I was patient and held out for the right conditions and prayed there was no scaffolding in town which seems to be the vain of my life. I was rewarded with a number of shots which I will put on Flickr in due course. There’s always something comes up that I don’t plan for. This time it was a load of middle age gentlemen who had got lost on the beach heading towards Alnmouth, they didn’t realise there was a river in the way. They came out of nowhere trooping up the hill in front of the cross right into my shot. Thankfully they left soon afterwards when I gave them directions around the estuary towards Alnmouth. I never saw them in Alnmouth later which I thought I might. I hope they avoided the quick sand.

GPW Heavyweight Title Match
Bubblegum © vs. Dirk Feelgood
Just a few months ago you'd be forgiven for taking a double take at this match. The friendship between the two former friends totally imploded with the desire to become Heavyweight champion. Refusing to accept the demise of his friendship with Dirk Feelgood, Bubblegum spent months in turmoil not wanting to retaliate to the cutting comments and brutal attacks levelled his way by former friend and champion Feelgood. As time went by however, Bubblegum eventually unloaded on Feelgood but this will be the first time the two have ever come face to face in a one on one match. And to make things just a little more interesting... it's for the GPW Heavyweight Title. Can the fairytale championship reign continue for Bubblegum, or can Dirk shatter his dreams and become the first ever 2 time Heavyweight Champ?
Tag Team Special, Skeletor vs. Stella
Lethal Dose vs. Voodoo & "Sober" Mike Holmes
Alan Alan Alan Tasker's henchmen, Lethal Dose march into battle against former stable member Mike Holmes and the man they hold responsible for Holmes' new found sobriety - Voodoo. Cyanide and Toxic hope to tempt Holmes back over to the stable that two months ago he turned his back on. They want to snap him out of the spell they accuse Voodoo of putting him under. However, Holmes seems very happy with his new outlook on life and he and Voodoo look to send Lethal Dose packing in this tag team special. Lethal Dose have warned they will not be coming to the ring alone though, with them along with their attorney and law - Alan Alan Alan Tasker will be a 12 pack of Stella. Hoping the case of beer will prove to be a bigger demon to Holmes than the tag team itself. To fend off the 12 pack, Holmes and Voodoo will have Vooodoo's trusty skull, Skeletor in their corner. An unpredictable tag team match. Can MIke Holmes stay sober? Will Voodoo's spells work? Or will Lethal Dose deliver a beating big enough to break Voodoo's spell?
GPW British Title Match
Jak Dominotrescu vs. "Super" Sam Bailey
After pinning the British Champion last month in a tag team match, WKD's "Super" Sam Bailey has earned himself a title shot at GPW: "Christmas Crunch". Bailey, already a former tag team champion looks to add to his growing reputation by capturing his first ever singles gold in GPW. While reigning champion, Romanian Jak Domitrescu along with his cohorts - The Eastern Bloc look to make life as difficult as possible for the energetic live wire. Domitrescu has held onto the title since April this year with help from his fellow countrymen, but are his days numbered as champ? He surely wont be alone in this title outing and will have the Eastern Bloc close by, but can "Super" Sam Bailey overcome the odds to win his first singles gold in GPW?
And, the main event for the evening is...
GPW Tag Team Title 2/3 Falls Match
MIl-Anfield Connection © vs. Young Offenders
The heat just got turned up in this feud. The re-united Young Offenders have the most established tag team in GPW - The Mil-Anfield Connection firmly in their sights and not to mention the tag team trophy. These two teams met in September this year where there was no clear winner decided after the match ended in a draw. There will be NO excuses this time to not find a winner. This, for the first time in our history will be a 2/3 Falls Match for the tag team titles. A winner HAS to be decided, but who will it be? A truley epic encounter is in our midst as Jiggy Walker & "The Model" Danny Hope try to cling onto the championship that has defined them as a team and "Dangerous" Damon Leigh & Joey Hayes, The Young Offenders chase the title that one of the most popular tag teams in Europe have never held. Can the re-united friends overcome the well established unit that is The Mil-Anfield Connection? Or can the well oiled duo of the Mil-Anfield do what they've been doing all year and win again?
GPW British Title No.1 Contenders Match
Harry Doogle vs. Juice vs. Dylan Roberts vs. Chris Echo
After an eye catchingly good year from rookie Dylan Roberts, he has been included in this battle to earn a shot at the British Title. With a burning desire to win and the fans firmly behind him, Roberts could well mark his arrival onto the main roster by becoming the No.1 Contender and going for gold here. However, his opponents wont give him an easy ride. In a wonderful CC-08 tournament, no one impressed more than WKD's Chris Echo. Echo reached the CC-08 finals with two broken wrists and proved he is ready to take a step up. His previous attempts for British gold have been thwarted by the foreign legion numbers of the Eastern Bloc, is he ready to prove again that he is worthy of being No.1 Contender and finally lift the British title? Juice, the current CC8 champion has been as impressive as ever in singles competition this year, but can he compete in this match with 3 others all vying to be No.1 Contender? Also replacing Jervis Cottonbelly due to injury is Harry Doogle as a last minute entry could one half of the next gen score the upset win? , but with so many possible outcomes who will leave with the plaudits and go on to challenge for the British Title next year?
Lumberjack Match
Si Valour vs. Heresy
A violent and personal feud that has lasted all year long finally comes to a head in what promises to be a violent Lumberjack Match. Ever since brutalising Valour and cutting off all his hair, Heresy has, in some form or other dodged the challenge of Valour. Heresy claimed not to have lost his bottle or be running scared of the 2007 Break Out Star, yet during their Bull Rope clash at GPW: "V" where the two were tied to one another, Heresy still managed to find a way of escaping and creating distance between him and Valour. This time, in a special Lumberjack Match, no matter where either man go - there will be no escape. All lumberjacks will be at the ready to ensure neither man can escape the others clutches and a clear winner, one way or the other will HAVE to be decided. There will be nowhere to run to and nowhere to hide, no matter where they look. Heresy has been one step ahead of Valour all year, is this where he runs out of excuses, or can the master manipulator manipulate another win?
