I wanted to make an early start for this climb up Glas Tuliachean and as I approach Banchory, the sun starts to rise on my drive into the Scottish Highlands.
Glas Tulaichean is my 5th Munro of the season and the 28th in total, bringing me to a Munro completion rate of near enough 10%. The mountain stands at 1051 meters (3448 feet) and is the last one I will do as I have now moved away from Scotland and back to my roots in South Yorkshire as the pull of the Grandchildren was just too strong.

Often when I pat Bart he'll soon plop onto the floor and roll around, wanting me to play with him. If I extend my hand toward him, though, he bats at it and lightly bites my fingers. I sometimes switch to using a wand toy at that point.
I wanted to have a change from squirrels, so found a photo of otters to draw. It was actually more difficult than I had expected and was going to give up on it! But I hate to admit defeat, so this morning I looked again with fresh eyes and carried on. I sent a photo of it to son Matt and he is happy to have it for Sophie, as she is such a fan of otters! The moral of the story is don't give up too early.
I don't want to give short shrift to my "pea pods," but I do want to be green in content of St. Patrick's Day. Let's hear it was Miner's Lettuce, Claytonia perfoliata!
I really had to be in tune with my surroundings to see this plant at the Garden. Tucked between several cacti and mostly in the shade, that springtime green just stood out among the other plants in that section. And what a deep green it was.
View Large to see that tiny white flower in the center! It's sort of a flower within a flower. Claytonia perfoliata, also known as miner's lettuce, Indian lettuce, winter purslane, or palsingat (Cahuilla), is a flowering plant in the family Montiaceae. It is an edible, fleshy, herbaceous, annual plant native to the western mountain and coastal regions of North America, from southernmost Alaska and central British Columbia, all the way south to Central America, but most common in California in the Sacramento and northern San Joaquin Valleys.
If you've hiked the foothills or valleys of California, you've probably seen some. The Gold Rush miner's ate it and probably named it. And I think I still see it in a salad now and then, and may once more if we ever go out to eat again ;-)

The cross here is very special for me. That’s the only religious sign I wear on. The Ankh is the symbol of love between man and woman and a symbol of Eternity, of life beyond life (like the Infinity symbol In Mathematics). It’s also very similar of the symbol of Venus.
It could be the symbol of Eternal Love.

A big mess and a moment that still fascinates me to this day when I look at this photo. There is so much to discover and every time I look at it I see a little more detail. The little black duckling doesn't want to fit right into this chaotic-looking mess of flying seagulls. I asked myself why is it even found in the middle of so many seagulls? What is it doing there as the only one of its kind? And then you're just suddenly left alone. What could have been the reason for the departure of so many seagulls? In any case, it wasn't me, because I photographed the whole scene from a greater distance and had been standing in this hidden place for a while. But whatever, many questions remain unanswered and the whole scenery is still a mystery to me to this day. And that's right, because we humans don't must have to have an explanation for everything that's going on on our Planet. Nature keeps many secrets to itself for a good reason I think.

Southend comes to Sanna. So many people I met...from Essex. Nothing is special anymore! The hordes have discovered the Ardnamurchan jewels. The car park is full and there were more than 40 people along the beach. I can't decide if it's a good thing or bad. We don't want to become like Skye or ruined like the NC500. Should we just keep schtum????
Kiwi wanted to take a walk with the baby panda, for this reason she decided to wear all the panda stuff to look like a panda mother ^__^
