Taken at the Palmarium reserve, a baby Indri Lemur poking its head out to make sure it is not missing any thing happening around it.
The Indri Lemur is the biggest of all the Lemurs but it has a short and stumpy tail. It has a very distinctive call and can be heard all over the forest.

Sometime last year I said to a friend "when I retire I want to go out with a tent on my bike." No, I am not retired yet, but the friend was so enthusiastic that I went "test camping" last night. I was allowed to use his tent and cooking equipment. I just had to plan a night. And then yesterday came, I had a day off for an event that unfortunately couldn't happen for me. And then I came up with a plan, I'm going to the campsite A spot is easily booked these days and that's how I went about it yesterday.
Cycling took some getting used to. Okay, it was less than fifteen minutes of cycling so what is it about. I stopped by to say hello to a friend. Hardly anyone knew that yesterday was THE day. Everything else went as if I had never done anything else. When the tent was up I went for an ice cream and after dinner I also went for a walk. I only had to heat up the food. This morning the neighbor gave me a compliment that the tent was nice and tight. No matter how beautiful the tent looked, it had to be taken down and packed up again. It was a 1 night experiment. Very successful experiment.

Het eten hoefde ik alleen op te warmen. Vanmorgen gaf de buurman me nog een compliment, dat de tent mooi strak stond. Hoe mooi de tent ook stond, hij moest weer afgebroken en ingepakt. Het was een experiment voor 1 nacht. Zeer geslaagd experiment.

Near Riverside . . .
Coming back from our very brief "North Shore" adventure, we drove down Highway 35 in western Wisconsin. It's a beautiful autumn drive to Siren, or continue on as far as you want along the Mississippi.
There are forest preserves, state parks and trails along the river to hike. Next early October I highly recommend it.
Can you tell I'm getting tired of white, wet and our wild winter!
