I approached the staff at the hotel where I was staying and told them that I wanted to photograph the sand dunes of the Thar desert at sunrise and sunset. They assigned a very special young man to help me complete the task.
We were up the following morning and he and one of the other staff showed me to a 4 wheel vehicle and we were off. We rode for awhile until the dunes came into sight. "Okay I thought we are going to plow over the dunes in this vehicle. What fun!"
Instead we got out of the vehicle and walked to a camel with a sled like device behind it. They showed how to climb on board and this is how I shot the images that will follow. One has to have a steady hand and a very padded "bottom"to endure the abuse from the wooden device. A sled made the tracks that you saw in the previous photo.

I wanted to take some photographs of the sunset because I haven't done that recently. When I was up on the board walk I noticed this lady wearing a hat that I wanted to photograph in front of the sun. I got up my courage and asked her and she was kind enough to accept. I hope she logs on to see it.
This was taken at 8am and by @pm the condensation had gone as had the wanted sign along with the picture.

Wanted to catch glimpse and photo opportunity with this bird for a while and well worth the wait. Fantastic markings and fascinating to watch if you are lucky enough.

I wanted the gun shown too but there was no more room in the frame :) Every week I am amazed with the images in the macro Monday group, such creative and talented photographers!
I've always wanted to drive the Natchez Trace, and was finally able to do so. Just north of Jackson, Mississippi this lone bald cypress in the water caught my eye. If you ever get a chance to drive the Trace, it's a two lane road of gorgeousness, actually through a national park, with a 50 mph speed limit. There are miles and miles of destruction, too, where a tornado tore through and left the forest stripped and haunting. And, you might also see the occasional deer. Make sure you have your favorite music available, sit back, and let the beauty feed your soul.

13th of March, my last day in Cambodia. I only had half a hour to spare before heading for the airport. I wanted to capture the sunrise on the Mekong river and Tonlé Sap river. I snapped some pictures by the riverfront, then packed before heading back. This is one of the last picture I took in Cambodia. I like the atmosphere, the flock of pigeons taking off all at the same time and that glowing light reflecting on the pavement.
I wanted to see how this red and white tulip would look in black and white. It looks like the tips of the flower were being highlighted by the sun.
