This impressive Buck must have been resting in the shade under the boardwalk at Dixon Meadows. I heard something stirring underneath me, I was really surprised when this guy squeezed out. He stared me down for a minute or more but when I moved a little to try avoid the back lighting he took off in a hurry.

Another from our favourite Airbnb. Up in the trees overlooking Santa Cruz - covered by fog in the distance - and Monterey Bay - covered by the same morning fog, although you can see the hills near Monterey on the other side of the bay - from Santa Cruz.

We could see ~70 miles of Pacific Coastline, from Santa Cruz around to Monterey. It was a great incentive to get back in time for the sunsets.

I took this through my bedroom window this morning.
