A flock of 150-200 Willets gathered on the edge of a sandbar, ready to nap for awhile. As the water level rose with the tide, they began to awaken and find themselves in shallow water.
I've only driven through this town a few times, always after picking up a meat load in Gaylord Minnesota. A Michael Farrell, a friend of ours on Flickr mentioned it before, I think he has a relative that lives here. Anyway, decided if I'd try to get a decent picture as I passed through. I was making a right turn and had a green light, but no cars behind, so I stopped in the intersection and took a picture.

Nothing like wading out through the waves in the dark, getting soaked, carefully treading through the waves to reach the jetty rocks slippery with algae. We went yesterday and I didn't care for the pictures although the fun was topnotch. This morning, despite the forecast, the sunrise was a pretty one. Thanks to Greg and Ash for including me in. None of us, or our equipment, came out worse for wear and it was worth an early wakeup. (Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse)

I wish you all very nice weekend, enjoy your tea (or something stronger ;)). Keep safe and healthy.
The days start early when you're on safari; usually a 5:45 a.m. wakeup, and in the vehicles by 6:30. But it's worth it to see the savanna come alive and to experience wonderful sunrises such as this.
