I can't for the life of me remember where I took this photo !!

I realy have no idea, what that could be!

The shot was taken, while I and my DAD were walking with Chipsi!

NO FAKE

Although the 1630 is still on the system, most of the locals in the southeast now have 60Es for power. For whatever reason, almost all of the remaining high hoods seem to be in captive service in the North and Midwest. The old 1630, one of 11 high hood SD40-2s in the N&W's first order for the type in 1973, was once a staple in the Piedmont region. It was seen here leading P86, a Hayne (Spartanburg) to Union, SC turn job through Pacolet, SC

What really brought me out this December 19th, 2025, was a late running L711 with the usual SD40-3. The shot at McGirts Creek would be lit from the west side of the bridge after about 9 a.m., making today's view a bit different from the usual east side angle before or around 8 a.m. Unexpectedly, the local was allowed to leave Moncrief ahead of Amtrak 97 and a very late P091 (now train 41), and the timing just so worked to have a small cloud deprive me of well lit photographic material of those first two trains. However I was in luck, as the two hour off-schedule 41 came across in excellent lighting and with enough warning to scale some sturdy brush for elevation. Cherry on top was the P42DC leader, accented by relatively dark clouds bringing out the blues.

In Lisbon, Portugal.

I purchased flowers at the store

I planted, I waited and what I saw!!!!!

These are not the same as the photo's of the plants from the label.

Someone had switched them while I was at the purchasing table.

Much to my dismay and glum

It was the genetic manufacturing bum.

He made my plant bug and fire proof

and now I have to look at them like it's a spoof.

So be careful when you buy what you think they say it is,

in reality it's fake news and it really is what it is.

not real nor fake but a man made mess.

Don't buy them, don't eat them don't sleep with them

because soon you will look and feel like them.

I talked Peter into trying out this unique ride when we were in Durban, South Africa. He only sat for a photo which was quite expensive (a tourist trap), so I hate to think what it would have cost to go up and down the footpath. He got a fright when the man picked up the carriage as he said it felt like it was going to tip over, so I am glad I resisted the request to sit in it LOL.

What was it, I wonder, that horrified the Wheal Jenkin Engine House on Bodmin Moor quite so much? Maybe something truly shocking was transmitted by that radio tower at the top of the hill? Could that also be why the engine house has turned its back on the mast?

I don’t know. But I do know that intrigue and drama are rampant in the countryside and, I have to tell you, the faces are everywhere, so watch out!

"I've hurt myself today

To see if I still feel.

I focus on the pain,

The only thing thats real.

The needle tears a hole;

The old familiar sting,

Try to kill it all away,

But I remember everything.

What have I become,

My sweetest friend?

Everyone I know,

Goes away in the end"

A questionable patch job is in the lead position of CN L529 with a much more attractive GTW 5849 second as they work the XTL Transport facility in northern Etobicoke. The 4908 here was built originally for the Long Island Railroad and was mainly seen in passenger service throughout its time there. Since then it has been a leaser for both LLPX and more recently GMTX, where it wore the number 2284 until being sold to CN within the past month or so.

what better place to shoot than the parking lot!

Don't know the full story, or why it's still sitting there after almost 2 years, but here's the local scoop when it happened:

Black-bellied whistling ducks in Ocala, FL.

I first couldn't really decide what the flock of white birds were. So unexpected to see something other than black-bellied whistling ducks and herons. I had to walk way out of my normal path to keep from scaring the Great Blue and to get near to the white birds. Turns out, after carefully looking in my bird books, that they are White Ibis! Believe me, this is in the heart of Houston's city limits. Oh, and red-eared slider (turtle) and a bullfrog - see if you can find him.

The tides were right and the sky was on fire, so all that was needed is a subject. I was lucky enough as these Kids were very happy to pose.
