I have no idea what kind of bird this is. He isn't a normal resident here at the park, I assume he was just on his way through, He was about 5 inches tall. He didn't mind humans at all, I think he had as much intrest in me as I did him. If you know what kind of bird he is, let me know.

This male Downy Woodpecker was enjoying the suet feeder when he suddenly heard a sound that got his attention.
What ever it was must not have been anything to worry about because he stayed a bit longer to keep snacking on the suet.

Love doesn’t vanish.

That castle looked to me like the fancy of some wannabe Ludwig II. Turns out it's even more recent - construction started in the 30's of last century.

Our ship had an ice strengthened hull, but every now and then I had a little Titanic moment when I saw those massive, sharp icebergs hitting us.

These small Snowy Plovers were seen at Malibu Lagoon State Beach and got a little scared (rightly so) as some crows flew overhead.
Their population is decreasing and they have been listed as threatened under provisions of the Endangered Species Act.
