WD 152 'Rennes' passing through St. Mary's Halt, Lydney with 1140 from Lydney Junction to Parkend. 21st May 2017.
The Avon Valley Railway held a small Gala using just Industrial Steam Locomotives.One of the first shots of the day just about catching sunlight on the eastern side of the line was of Hunslet built (1944) WD-132 'Sapper' working a demonstration freight through Bitton to the northern end of the line. This loco was an original MOD loco issued with the number 75113 and went on to become just about the final steam loco to work in day to day service in industry in this country.

An unidentified WD approaches Wakefield Kirkgate Station from the south with a rake of mineral wagons on Tuesday 12 July, 1966.
Waaay too much WD40 in the mix makes for big flames & a very over exposed fire orb!!! LOL
Still, it's always good to end a visit with a big burst of light.
