I upload this picture on occasion of the 25th anniversry of the day the wall came down.
The little exhibition in the British Museum is actually quite interesting. Objects from more than 600 years of German history are shhown. Both good things and bad things.
This photo has had a very tortuous journey to Flickr. I took it this afternoon with my iPhone but the "improved" Photos on the iMac will not load photos from my iPhone - either wirelessly as it used to or via the charger lead plugged into a USB port. So I photographed the iPhone screen with my Ricoh, loaded it to my hard drive and from there to Flickr. Then I cropped it using the Aviary software on Flickr – which I've never used before.
Housesteads - Hadrian's Wall
I was beginning to think this morning was a complete waste of time until the sun appeared over the horizon, giving off some of the best light I've seen in a long time.
This viewpoint is just over a mile from Housesteads car park, but it's all uphill and through bogs and stacks of sheep kak. I have to say though it was worth every minute of sliding around and driving 40 miles home caked in the finest Northumberland mud there is

Taken at Portland's International Rose Test Garden, the roses were just starting to bud when we visited on Mother's Day 2007. But the other flowers, trees, and shrubs still provided this rich tapestry of colour around the park, accented by the lush green of the grass and the bushes.
According to wikipedia, the 4.5 acre rose garden has 7,000 rose plants of approximately 550 varieties and is the oldest continuously operating public rose test garden in the United States.
