Maybe this is the first photo that I ever took in the Canadian Rockies. This is scanned from a Fuji slide taken on a Pentax Spotmatic camera 46 years ago. I was then still a teenager.

I recently revived an old beaten Contax 137MD Quartz which id purchased off eBay for very little.

After replacing the light seals and refurbishing the body, I ran a roll of 2006 Expired Kodak BW400CN C41 process B&W film through it.

Seemingly I had a few issues through development - some dark patches on some images and a few odd light leaks not camera related, however the remaining images came out pretty good!

I went to visit my friend and his open-air beer brewing operation that Saturday. There, I encountered a boat dry dock and good company. Some of the photos even turned out presentable!

Taken with Canon EOS 500N film camera and Canon EF 50mm F1.4 USM lens, on Agfa Vista+ 400 color film. Scanned with my trusty Plustek OpticFilm 8100 dedicated film scanner, using VueScan 9.

Having used Portra for a log time, I decided it was time for something else. And, boy, it IS different! I even had to de-saturate the greens a bit... The colours are really natural and very saturated!

Taken from a derelict pier near our resort beach in Cancun, Mexico. I waded out into the first few feet of water to get this image during the last few minutes of sunrise around 6:30am.

Shot with a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II & Sekor C 110mm f/2.8 lens on Kodak Portra 400. Shot at 1/90th @ f/4 handheld while avoiding dunking the camera!

Developed at home with a Tetanal C-41 Kit using normal development (agitation/temp as per kit instructions) and scanned on an Epson V600 @ 6400dpi using Vuescan Professional.

Loaded into Photoshop CS5 to get the inversion and color balance (mostly) correct, I sent the image to my iPhone and used a combination of PS Express and Snapseed to edit this image....While there are some (fairly major) technical issues with the editing, and the resolution is very much reduced, I got a look that is surprisingly close to what I envisioned when I pressed the shutter, which is using the intrinsic range of film to create an HDR "look" while retaining the color, detail, and vibe of Medium Format....

As white it can go! That day, snow buried everything quickly, but it was a wet snow, so I went out as soon as I could. I did a decent hike through a park nearby and returned home soaking wet.

-- I don't shoot this focal length with a rangefinder often, and almost never use this close focusing attachment, but I do like the results on B&W film. This is where a "better," modern optic, with more clinical rendering, may not be as pleasing as this old Summicron from the 60's.

I didn't even bother removing all of the scratches on these negatives because compared to my 2014 scans of these, it doesn't even matter these are a 1000% improvement over my old scans. Not even close. Makes me wish I shot more film of these places before they all got demolished!

Also I decided to see how the Plustek held up using VueScan instead of SIlverfast. I used to use VueScan back in the day with my Epson V600, it's the software I learned how to scan on. Moved to Epson Scan and then Silverfast, but after seeing the performance with these, I may end up back to VueScan moving forward.

Another lovely texture. I do love medium format! On Mnt. Joy, 2008.

Finally, the first summer weekend of this season.

Here, a stone beach in Žurkovo, Kostrena, near Rijeka. There was a lot of airborne sand that day, making the sky unrecognizable through the haze.

Taken with Pentax MZ‍-‍S autofocus film camera, with Sigma AF Super‍-‍Wide II 24mm F2‍.‍8 wide-angle lens, on a roll of brand-new Wolfen Color NC500 colour negative film.

Scanned with Plustek OpticFilm 8100 scanner using VueScan.

Hidden under that buckyball tent is the location where the first contact happened. With whom? I don't know, I'm here just to tell you a story, as improbable as it gets! 😁

Every year, there's a garden show happening in the nearby park, Bundek, and organizers were hoping for a pandemic-free summer. But, as we all know, 2021. was not pandemic-free, so the show did not happen, despite some construction already being done. Let's hope this prelude to a new World War will stop in time for this year's show!

Taken with a do-it-yourself, fully plastic Recesky TRL film camera, using its built-in plastic 50mm lens, on Agfa Vista+ 200 color film. The camera has only one shutter speed, the lens has only one aperture (two, if you modify it, what I did not do), so 1/125 exposure, ƒ/11, box speed, 200 ASA.

Scanned with Plustek OpticFilm 8100 dedicated film scanner, using VueScan 9.5.

Although it might not look like that, that was a hot and bright summer day, it's just that LomoChrome Metropolis isn't a warm and bright film! :D

Here, modern architecture is trying to hide behind a block of a few centuries-old corner houses.

Taken with Olympus OM‍-‍1 film camera and Olympus Zuiko Auto‍-‍S 50mm F1‍.‍8 lens, on Lomography Lomography LomoChrome Metropolis XR100‍-‍400 special-effect film. Metered at 320ASA.

The Cathedral of the Epiphany of the Lord (another name is the Epiphany Cathedral) is an Orthodox cathedral in Vyshny Volochyok, Tver Region.

hram-tver.ru/index.php/khramy-tverskoj-oblasti/vyshnij-vo...

The temple was built of bricks in 1810-1814 on the island between the two branches of the Tsna River on the site of a dilapidated wooden church in the name of the Epiphany with a chapel of the archistrategos Michael.

The cathedral was closed in 1931, but not destroyed. The building was used for warehouse purposes. The temple was reopened in 1945.
