Plomin Power Station is a coal-fired power station near Plomin, Croatia. As of 2007, its production corresponded to 13% of Croatia's electricity needs. The power plant consists of two boiler units, Plomin A, built in 1969 and Plomin B, built in 2000, both generating a total of 330 megawatt. Plomin Power Station has a 340 metres (1120 ft) tall chimney, which is the tallest constructed structure in Croatia. Read more on Wikipedia.
I've been spending a few days of my summer vacation nearby, I just had to take an opportunity to visit this location. Here, a view of Plomin Power Station bay from Plomin village viewpoint.

Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord - in the village of Krasnoye, Staritsky District, Tver Region, Russia.
In the second half of the 18th century, M.F. Poltoratsky became the owner of the estate in the village of Krasnoye, Staritsky district, who decided to replace the old wooden church with a new one, copied from the famous Chesme church, built in 1777-1780 by order of Catherine II by architect Yu. M. Felten near Petersburg.
His first petition “to build a stone church with his own kosht” dates back to 1783. After a second petition, Bishop Ioasaph Zabolotsky signed the charter of the church on July 30, 1785.
The construction of the temple was carried out under the care and dependency of his wife for five years, and was completed in 1790.
Built in a pseudo-Gothic style, it is an almost exact copy of the Chesme Church in St. Petersburg, built 10 years earlier.
The height of the structure is 24 meters, length and width - about 20 meters.
In 1931, the Soviet authorities closed the temple. The bells were sent for melting down, the stone fence was dismantled and transported to Staritsa, to the city garden. The interior of the church was used for the needs of the local collective farm, destroyed and dilapidated.
In 1997, the restoration of the temple began.

Very first time to scan film, how exciting! After nearly 1 hour to do the scan (for this single one frame!), tried Epson itself software and Vuescan software both, found out that the Epson one produces sharper images, but the color is not as good as the Vuescan.
This image is scanned by using Vuescan software, it doesn't automatically crop off the edge, but the color somehow still now quite right, I don't know what's the reason.
Anyway, this is the very first time I do the scan myself, very interesting experience :)

I've been messing about with my enlarger setup lately. I've been having BAD issues with uneven light distribution. It's (almost) fixed now. The lighter areas here were intentionally dodged, though (mostly ;)).
I've been wanting to print this negative for so long now and figured today would be the day. As for the paper, I've decided on ancient Tetenal Work 310 which a friend handed me along with many more boxes of paper when he moved. Most contents of the box were damaged (by humidity?) but some sheets were still mostly intact, like this one.
Due to the age and poor storage conditions, it has started to yellow significantly. I wanted to stain the paper originally but ended up liking the warm tone the paper already had so much that I didn't do any toning/staining. That along with some dodging/burning here and there creates a nice, gritty look that really fits the subject, I believe. I'm very pleased with the print! Take a 1:1 crop out of it and you've got yourself a nice EBM album cover. It's just such a shame most sheets in the box were damaged beyond use...

It was a pretty hot but totally overcast day. Not really photo weather, if you will: too warm and sweaty to hike around comfortably, boring skies. Still, I thought I could try out some more old Agfapan 400, this time in 120, after shooting lots of it in 35mm lately.
The 35mm and 120 film came from different sources. I found that the 35mm stock, which I knew expired in 1995, was very good at about EI 80 to 100. I had no clue how the 120 film was stored and when it expired. Plus, I only had this one single roll of it so I couldn’t even do a test roll. I guessed the film expired in the early 2000s because that’s when all the other film of the bulk lot this one was in expired. Assuming storage at room temperature, I figured EI 160 would be about right. Good guess!
The film shows artifacts of fogging as I have seen quite a bit with faster expired film. With this shot, I do embrace it, though. I think it makes the scene look more interesting. Especially with the slight warm tone I put onto the scan, it amplifies a certain vintage feeling.

I didn't even bother removing all of the scratches on these negatives because compared to my 2014 scans of these, it doesn't even matter these are a 1000% improvement over my old scans. Not even close. Makes me wish I shot more film of these places before they all got demolished!
Also I decided to see how the Plustek held up using VueScan instead of SIlverfast. I used to use VueScan back in the day with my Epson V600, it's the software I learned how to scan on. Moved to Epson Scan and then Silverfast, but after seeing the performance with these, I may end up back to VueScan moving forward.

Usually, I've almost always had good luck with expired films, in the last decade and a half, I can remember only a few rolls where the film expired in a bad way, and if it was that way, the expiry date was always at least a decade before. This film, on the contrary, expired exactly a decade ago, so a one-stop push should have been enough. It was, but the film expired more than I was expecting.

New lens means obligatory drive around the countryside, can't use the lens before testing it. Why not test the unknown lens with equally unknown film, which expired some 16-17 years ago! What could possibly go wrong!? Well, at first, somehow I managed to turn manual ISO override do 6400, which took me half of the roll to realize that. After that, I reverted ISO override to box-speed, like the film didn't sit somewhere for the last decade and a half. That could explain the non-linear tonal response of the film - those shadows are pretty dark!
