Visual Art Students have taken to the walls of the Academic and Technology Center at Walnut Hill to paint murals through the hallways.
There are several visual vectors: the lines of the two book shelves leading back into space, the lines of the two models bodies creating tension from the flow of the shelves and finally the gaze of the two models are directed in a different direction towards their books. The contrasting visual vectors keep viewer's eyes busy and creates visual tension that is interesting.
Exhibited in Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre exhibition APEX 2022, MVPs (“most valuable players”), describes the inner worlds of my family. Each photo frame is decorated to mimic a different video game player selection page, where each of my family members is showcased. Similar to default game characters, each of my family members has special features, strengths and weaknesses, which can be told through their inner worlds. Game consoles hand-made by paper mache were made to compliment the frames. All the illustrations were self-drawn digitally on procreate, printed out and cut into different layers to create pop-ups.
