This is part of a project that commissioned a simple line visual, but the groundwork was there to up-grade to a higher level of rendition. This was also used to create a promotional animation sample too.

This image compiles found objects to create a sense of place. My research considers place, memory, and belonging in the context of Atlantic Canada. As Yi-Fu Tuan writes, "place is pause; each pause in movement makes it possible for location to be transformed into place." This photograph is itself a pause--a way to transform seemingly meaningless objects into significance. A central focus of my project is the work of American poet Elizabeth Bishop. The leaves and objects collected in this portrait are mementos that I gathered from her former hometown of Great Village, Nova Scotia in October 2024. Together, they combine to form a visual identity that represents the atmosphere in the community, and echoes aspects of Bishop's poetry.
