We spotted this half-hidden elephant towards the tail-end of our bus safari in Dhikala. We had spotted an elephant earlier which was quite far in the grasslands. This close sighting of the elephant was the icing on a good day of wildlife spotting.

The alley, which led to a wellness spa, was decorated with lights, prayer flags, and wall graffiti. These again were manifestations of the amalgamation of various international cultures in this tourism hot spot.

We saw the male running after the female and sniffing her rear, while the female was evading the male's advances. The female deer would play hard to get and wait for other males to show up so that the strongest among them can mate with her.

The almost dried up canal provided a good birding opportunity as there were hoards of these kites hovering very low while trying to catch prey that were left exposed in the canal bed.
