"En route to Tatooine, Boba Fett realizes that delivering Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt may be trickier than he had anticipated."- Starwars The ultimate visual guide (97)

That is the understatement of the universe. Every half decent bounty hinter and mercenary in the galaxy attempts to steal Jabba's prized carbonite frozen spice runner. Not to mention the Rebellion who are just as desperate to keep Solo out of the clutches of the underworld.

A small squad of relatively untrained rebel troops attempts to recapture solo on the shipping port of Gall. A small band of half decent mercenaries also decides to join the fray, and hijacks a small cargo transport. Fett is outnumbered, but in no way outgunned. He takes on all of them at once in one of the most epic battles of the Starwars expanded universe.

This is an entry into the large category of this: www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42357

The prize is a concept Boba Fett, so I thought that I might take a swing at a concept Boba of my own. The second to last photo is of the concept Boba, so check it out :)

P.S. i really love starwars but this is my first real attempt at making a scene. C&C is appreciated and will be taken into account if I make more scenes like this.

Thanks again

Life is short so fuck shit up!

Business card close up.

FA was asked to create a name and visual identity for Neuwave Systems. The name needed to act as a bridge between Neuwaves heritage and the new company’s future as an independent organization. A communication program was required to help customers, employees, and investors make the necessary transition and at the same time create a fresh image that differentiates the organization, its products, and services from its major competition.

Based on wavelengths and equalizer LCD's, the mark leverages Neuwave Systems’ status as a well-grounded pioneer. It portrays the company as a constant guide that customers and partners can rely on to navigate their way through an industry that has traditionally been complex. The look and feel of the brand is designed to suggest a highly professional, well-established organization and achieve differentiation.

I love it when nature takes over things that humans left behind to decay

When you look at someone who just had an inspired thought, what does it look like to you? Can you see the thought manifesting into reality?

I hope you see it. If not, take another look.

I saw the potential for visual humour and quickly composed the shot to line up the hand sign with his arm. A moment later, he looked away, and the overall effect was lost. You see it, or you don’t. A moment that made me smile.

Many of my images have little elements like this, for those who look, to discover.

Chester Cathedral and Chester Visual Arts present ‘Our Colour Reflection’ by international artist, Liz West. The installation creates a conversation between the viewer and the setting using hundreds of mirrors made of coloured acrylic.

West creates vivid environments that mix luminous colour and radiant light. Working across a variety of mediums, West aims to provoke a heightened sensory awareness in the viewer through her works. She is interested in exploring how sensory phenomena can invoke psychological and physical responses that tap into our own deeply entrenched relationships to colour.

Open Monday to Saturday: 9am – 5pm, Sunday: 11am – 4pm

FREE ENTRY – generous donations welcome

When you think about shapes, you think of how simple they are. However when you look around, you start seeing them everywhere. They from the world you live in. Start looking deep enough to understand their importance. They form movement, receptition, deapth, chaos. They make you feel, they make you move, and understand your surroundings. Look deep enough to understand what is around you. Look through the void.

Of course, it's not exactly a "Window Seat" picture because the view is taken by by the A-380 tail camera.

Note the flight over a curious circular lake…

Six years later, a new city surrounds it!

That's a photo of me when I was ten. The writing on the right has many translations of the word ten. I've been saving this painting from the front of Smithsonian magazine for just the right spot. I finally found it. The sticker that says pocket was on the magazine when I got it. I had the piece of shisha embroidery out to put on the cover of my little orange book when I make it. It wound up here instead.

If you look at the upper right quadrant you'll notice a profusion of tiny yellow dots. It's unexpected, uncontrolled magic like this that makes my heart skip a beat. It's the magic of what I call a Random Act of Art: when the medium and physics/chemistry/the Divine do the work and I am just one small, humble player in the creation. I never tire of this!

"We are thrilled to announce our CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS for IN COMMON, next IC-Visual Lab event in Bristol.

Following the structure of ICVL past events, ICVL is welcoming photographic bodies of work and multimedia submissions on:

Theme: ‘’ IN COMMON ’’. Belonging equally to or shared equally by two or more (people, places, things, ideas): common interests. Relating to the community as a whole.

We are expecting an exciting and challenging selection, presented as two separate collections: one focussed on international works and photographers curated by Erica McDonald (Curator Develop Tube) and the other focussed on works and authors based in the UK curated by IC-Visual Lab as well as the result of the OMD participants workshops.

We’ve also got another surprise, Jim Mortram will be giving a talk about how he works with his community, the ethos and the difficulties of documenting his surroundings, and his plans for the future.

After the event, a selection of works will be featured on DEVELOP Tube offering further promotion with an international impact.

The event will celebrate the conclusion of OLD MARKET DIARIES, bringing together members of the community, photography, art and media communities for an evening of eating, drinking, visual storytelling and music.”

Nick Cave Brings His Breathtakingly Beautiful Exhibition to Carriageworks

From the moment you enter the space you're immersed in 16,000 gently twirling hypnotic metallic mobiles.

Nick Cave, Until, Carriageworks, 2018

This is the Chicago-based artist’s most ambitious visual-arts project to date and its title, Until, is a play on the phrase “innocent until proven guilty”. But here it’s presented as “guilty until proven innocent”.

Presented by Carriageworks in collaboration with the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Until responds to the spate of race-related violence that resulted in the deaths of Brown, Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin, confronting issues of racism and gun violence in America, and the broader effect on communities globally.

“Until is about the urgency I feel as an artist, as an African American, as a citizen of the United States of America, and as a resident of Chicago. All too often we are faced with a history that keeps repeating, one in which gun violence pervades in our streets in the hands of both civilians and law enforcement,” says Cave.

The works are surprisingly beautiful, breathtaking even, and provocative.

From the moment you enter the space you are immersed in 16,000 gently twirling hypnotic metallic mobiles that catch the light and cast off rainbow hues and shadows. The piece Kinetic Spinner Forest, which appears from a distance to be playful objects, in fact contains shapes of handguns, bullets and tears.

“There’s so much going on around us we think it’s removed from our existence but in reality it’s in our backyard. That’s how I came to the spinner [piece], the sorts of decorative objects that are placed in our gardens … but as you get closer you realise they’re handguns, they’re bullets, they’re teardrops, so that shifts the whole way you see them. Yet there’s still optimism and beauty and belief and hope,” Cave tells Broadsheet.

The exhibition centrepiece is Crystal Cloudscape, a 12-metre-long, six-metre-wide hanging sculpture weighing 5.4 tonnes and made from 24,000 crystals, beads and chandeliers. Above that is a mind-boggling collection of found objects, from birds to candelabras, gold-gilded pigs, a life-sized crocodile, huge dandelion flowers and 17 cast-iron “Jocko”-style lawn jockeys (their cringingly racist roots date back to the Jim Crow era of legislated segregation). Four ladders take you to platforms that allow you to view the installation from above.

“Until was built around the extremes of brutality that’s been happening in the US. I felt we needed spaces to be heard, venues to come to, to collectively try to bring an understanding of all this violence. I think I’m a messenger first and artist second ... So yes, Until is a work of art but it also knows how to set itself back for call and response. That’s something I’ve always done, it’s my outreach.”
