This is Gabe. You might observe that his left eye looks a bit odd... It is. That's his good eye. The one hidden from view is... let's just say it's seriously damaged. He's been nearly blind from birth, but don't tell him, he doesn't know, and he functions remarkably well, even with his limited vision. This was taken the day a new kitten arrived in the house, and he's scoping out the new guy from a safe distance. Within six hours, they were asleep on the same couch. They're best buddies now.

Behind me is the oil-painting with some Chinese joss paper created by a western girl who was studied Art in the University of Hong Kong.
Joss paper (金纸;literally "gold paper" or 冥幣; pinyin: míng bì; literally "shade/dark money" also known as ghost money, are sheets of paper that are burned in traditional Chinese deity or ancestor worship ceremonies during special holidays. Joss paper are also burned in traditional Chinese funerals, to ensure that spirit of the deceased has lots of good things in their afterlife.

20205 storms past the loop at Spetchley with the 8SVT music reverberating across the countryside. The conditions for the return journey from Plymouth could not have been any different than the outbound leg the previous day. Running as 5M16 to Derby R.T.C. this was an absolute joy to witness and I have to admit I sat and watched the train disappear into the heat haze.
