To have a vision it's the ability to see the invisible. If you can see the invisible, you can achieve the impossible.

1. «La vision scotopique est la vision de l'oeil dans des conditions de faible luminosité, voire dans le noir partiel. Dans l'œil humain, les cônes sont non fonctionnels en basse lumière, aussi, la vision scotopique est-elle produite exclusivement par les bâtonnets, qui sont plus sensibles aux longueurs d'onde de lumière autour de 498 nm (vert-bleu) et sont insensibles aux longueurs d'onde supérieures à environ 640 nm (rouge).»

In the human eye, cones are nonfunctional in low light, so scotopic vision is produced exclusively by rods, which are most sensitive to wavelengths of light around 498 nm (green-blue) and are insensitive to wavelengths above about 640 nm (red).”

Rabbits have an almost 360 degree vision. They can see all around them and even above them thanks to the position of their eyes high on the sides of their head. This 360 vision helps them greatly in spotting their (many) predators. Up close, they a have couple of blinds spots right in front of their nose and below their chin.

Rabbits are also partially color blind unable to see colors in the red spectrum, but they have excellent low light vision that helps them during dawn and dusk just when they are most active.

Dream vision - Painted by Pier Luigi Madrigali

Vision is something that I think is fundamental to artists whether it is within the music industry, fine art photography.

It allows us to be unique and to express what is within ourselves, some say what is part of us. Without vision, we would all be the same. That is what is truly beautiful within art. We are allowed to be our genuine selves and express our emotions as we feel them

A great man and musician passed away. His sound and vision will keep on being eternal.

One of the great pop icons, I listened to since I was about 11 years old and I have so many memories that are connected to his music. And what a great event it was to see him live performing in Rotterdam in 1983 (serious moonlight tour). His always changing appearance as a way of re-inventing himself constantly was a big inspration, as well as his creativity and his out of the box thinking.

About One Million

Mangroves are trees and shrubs that grow in saline coastal habitats in the tropics and subtropics. The saline conditions tolerated by various species range from brackish water, through pure seawater to water of over twice the salinity of ocean seawater, where the salt has become concentrated by evaporation.

There are many species of trees and shrubs adapted to saline conditions. Not all are closely related, and the term 'mangrove' may be used for all of them, or more narrowly only for the mangrove family of plants, the Rhizophoraceae, or even more specifically just for mangrove trees of the genus Rhizophora.

More than fifty species of Rhizophoraceae grow in Australasia, with particularly high biodiversity on the island of New Guinea and northern Australia.

Australia has approximately 11,500 km2 of mangroves primarily on the northern and eastern coasts of the continent, with occurrences as far south as Millers Landing in Wilsons Promontory, Victoria and Barker Inlet in Adelaide, South Australia.

This statue representing 'vision' is in the centre of the former BBC Television Centre, Wood Lane, White City. It sits beneath a statue of Helios which stands on a column, and alongside a corresponding reclining statue depicting 'sound'. The sculptor was T. B. Huxley-Jones.

The building was designed in a modernist style by architect Graham Dawbarn and opened in 1960. The BBC moved their operations out of building in 2013 and following renovations, it reopened in 2017 as a mixed use development which includes office space, residential apartments, leisure services as well as rertaining three TV production studios.

For 2019: one photo each day (8/365) and 119 pictures in 2019, #112 "Vision". For this theme I took things very literally. Vision is precious, take good care of yours. This is the morning after cataract surgery in my right eye, and I'm wearing an eye protector ( for the first day or so). This is not much fun, so take care of your eyes. Cataracts are age related, but generally in association with environmental factors like excessive exposure to UV over time.
