‘Only the darkness knows who I am: How visualizing darkness contributes to the possibilities of aesthetic empathy in the perception of the body in x-rays’
This thesis examined x-rays on the world wide web in the public domain in order to see what cultural work they did in and beyond the clinic. It utilised theories of aesthetic empathy and empathic viewing to consider the relationship between viewer, x-ray image and the virtual environment. It considered the role of viewer as ‘flaneur’ and in terms of empathic viewing to reconsider the subject-object relationship.

The Nidhogg is a highly evil mythological creature in that it is the dragon that perpetually chews at the roots of the Tree of Life. Alpha is Nidhogg here, dressed in one of June Dion's spectacular costumes.
Although the clothing as well as what they represent is truly ominous, is Alpha herself in the Valley threshold? She is fully human and thanks to Loli Nori's Vampire skin quite a fetching one at that... So, is she repulsive or not?
There are almost identical shots here, to the point where I have two, in one of which Alpha's eyes are shut and one where they are open...
I just rezzed the Klein "townhouse" at Syncretia and while I was doing that I started playing with the environment editor. I hardly ever use the default sky presets anyway, but just now I invented a few more.
Looks very very impressive methinks...

This is yet another bit of old-work recycling. It used to be a poster designed for a design exhibition organized by the city of Daegu in Korea, hence the name of the outfit:

Today was wolfie's first rez-day.
Ultimately breeding will always tell: A perfect Viennese gentleman in full Tuxedo, he played the piano for me! The music was absolutely divine: In fact so much so that we never even heard it...
Must remember to get a baby grand for my town house. Not that I am musical or anything, can't play a tune to save my life - but, it will definitely add a certain class to the place which will very nicely counter balance my tail... And also, if being musical were a prerequisite to buying a piano most of the babies would remain on the shelf, right?

my first try in doing architecture within SL environment; using my own photographs, turning them into 1-bit black & white images with threshold command in photoshop, saving them as transparent PNGs, mapping them onto transparent planes within the metaverse. thanks to elif ayiter for quick tips...

On really big farms they plant crops with helis don't they?
Well, our crops are nukes! Hack and I start out at Syncretia and fly the length and breadth of the Archipelago planting nukes!!!
hhhh...
We are such GOOD examples to our students! It is absolutely mind boggling that they should be lucky enough to get educated by such fine, upstanding role models...
The landscaping reminds me very much of the kind that one encounters in late Gothic illuminated manuscripts.

I logged in for a second just now, realized halfway there that I had to get out ASAP because the computer was actually doing a scheduled virus scan and so I really had no CPU left over for running around in SL. However, just as I was loging off, I received this (a flower emitter staff) from Truthseeker. And as it happens, only yesterday I had bought this hair from MAU's & MEJ's. So, I am not sure if Truthseeker and Sunnivah Jiutai are in cahoots here or what, but I really could not resist shooting these together. Not good photos - like I said it was a real rush job, but simply too color co-ordinatedly accessorized a look to resist documentation I thought...
We seem to be outed: A lot of people seem to have already discovered the location of our shop, thanks to a wonderful blog post by Helena Stringer. So, although we still have a ways to go, here is the slurl to alpha.tribe:

The hair worn with this outfit is simply the best Mohawk in SL, I think. It can be obtained (as a dollarbie!!!) amongst the texture testers at Helena Stringer's store, the Mausoleum:
