"Padded", a dark and textured outfit designed by Grapho Fullstop, consisting of many attachments for men and women is now available at alpha.tribe:

Amina Diavolo: The woman totally pisses me off! I need hardly elaborate as to why that is, right?

Hack and I have been working too hard: As MosMax's assistant he has had to build and rebuild a huge sphere, over and over again. And as everyone knows, nothing, not even the smallest imperfection ever escapes Mossy's gimlet eye! I on the other hand, have been grafting away at Syncretia.

So, we take off a half hour and cruise over the Archipelago...

Between Cappadocia and Citrinitas is a typographic installation, my homage to C. G. Jung: "Mysterium Coniunctionis"...

Syncretia/Citrinitas is an alchemical power plant which utilizes the water pumped from the Black Mountain for alchemical purposes. This water is cycled through the fairy chimneys at Syncretia/Cappadocia, after which it begins its long journey across the plains of the northern shore. The acquisition of alchemical properties is initiated during this phase: As it progresses the water gains in density. In the plant proper the water is further treated to the point where it can actually turn dross to gold! The two Hobo trucks inside the huge containers are currently undergoing treatment. One unexpected byproduct is a rejuvenating elixir! Sitting inside one of the spheres below the purification tanks can create wonders, not only in therms of appearance but also of state of mind!

Amina has certainly taken her revenge upon me for having made her pose for the geometric de.stijl outfit! She has reverted to her unstructured style and designed an outfit based upon Miro.

This one too is unisex, with hip floaters, sandals, a little cresent moon to hide your derrirere and a headpiece. There is a PG and mature version to the female skin. Amina is posing with the one which is PG... Of course! ;-)

Hack and wolfie rez more and more planes, creating a really bizarre conglomeration of wings and engines. The sound generated by so many planes alone was quite something!

This unisex outfit is actually the sister outfit of one on which Xiamara is working at the moment. I should probably be saying "brother outfit" though, considering that this has actually been designed by Grapho, our in-house dark/texture specialist.

These two outfits are both inspired by the novel "My name is Red" by Turkish Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk. The book describes the events surrounding a murder amongst illuminator/calligraphers in 16th century Istanbul. And so, Ottoman ornamentation is the underlying design system for both this one as well as Xia's, which will in fact be called "My name is Red" in tribute to Orhan Pamuk, and will be released within a few days. (Hopefully!)

Oh and, not to forget, Grapho has lightened up the regal nature of the pennants and the Ottoman boots which go with the outfit, with a custom textured pogo stick with which you can become a hopping Sultan or Sultana!

Held at Happy Daze Bar which was part of the Babylon 5 Roleplay which is still above the Delenn sim in Second Life.

I like this better. The horse and lion were lovely but just didn't fit somehow. Maybe I can figure out a way of integrating them later but for now they have gone elsewhere...

Some more wonders by Flea Bussy: A golem, a defender and a crawler. I shall be breaking them apart and combining them with "human" Alpha but they are so gorgeous as they are that I decided to photograph them in thier entirety first. Besides I need the fully non-humanoid avatars for comparison purposes anyway. So, these avatars are well differentiated into being non-human. As such they would have to fall outside the Valley threshold. But do they I wonder?

Sweetlemon Jewell (on the left) is a valued customer at alpha.tribe, having purchased quite a few of our things in the past - in fact she happens to be one of our oldest clients... Today she brought her friend Kariwanz Felisimo. When they wanted to take a group photo with me I immediately threw on my own manbo sailor outfit - and so here we all are! Happy as clams!

Today was wolfie's first rez-day.

Ultimately breeding will always tell: A perfect Viennese gentleman in full Tuxedo, he played the piano for me! The music was absolutely divine: In fact so much so that we never even heard it... kk

Must remember to get a baby grand for my town house. Not that I am musical or anything, can't play a tune to save my life - but, it will definitely add a certain class to the place which will very nicely counter balance my tail... And also, if being musical were a prerequisite to buying a piano most of the babies would remain on the shelf, right?

"Get out of the firing line Alpha!" screams wolfie but hey... a la guerre comme a la guerre...

Multiple "flame" atachments. The skirt is inspired by medieval religious candelabras.

A geometric/golden neko outfit, comes with skin, tail, ears, hair, ankle bracelet, puff sleeves and shoes.

... and here the sphere is busy fragmenting something that I had built a while ago and never really rezzed...

These photos were mostly taken from within the Botanical Garden, looking towards Cappadocia.

One major worry when designing a huge space, which is exactly what an SL island is, is that the space won't gel, won't create good transitions from one visual domain to the other - unless, of course, you are designing something that is all part of one visual system and/or serves one function. Syncretia has entirely different spaces and visual approaches, and that has been my intention from the very beginning. Cappadocia is situated very close to the botanical garden and looking at them together made me do quite a bit of additional work on the garden's, originally white, cubes. I added textures as well as bumpmapping. I think this brings the two environments into closer harmony, while still sufficiently distinguishing them from one another.

The image of it that I saw on SL exchange seemed interesting enough so I went out there and mostly it is quite nice. My big gripe is with the really very clumsily designed chair (which I made a point of to keep out of these shots). Oh, and the zodiac images are definitely not by Leonardo but Johan Bode, I believe, although I may be wrong. But, if it isn't Bode then it is another one of the 17th century astronomers, maybe John Bevis or Stanislav Lubieniecki. Some one like that anyway...

But I don't mean to be difficult, it is just my nasty little college professor demeanor raising its uncontrollable ugly head here.

Definitely well worth a visit... :)

Did you know that you can buy our store landing point area? Here it is without all of our boards. Measuring 40m x 32m, mod/copy and 53 prims with the centre piece of the seating area with fountain or just 27 prims without the central area. The central seating sits 8 avatars and also has nature sounds.

See it in use here: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ferndale/118/135/25

Photograph settings are SL defaults and was taken using a mid afternoon setting on site at Two Moon Gardens with everything else derendered and a prim placed underneath that has a grass library texture.

I should have listened when wolfie said last night "we're at the Angewandte, wanna swing by Alpha?". But I was knee deep in plumbing work at Klein so I said later later...

This is most definitely my one favorite structure anywhere in the metaverse. Putting anything near it/next to it is a huge challenge but I really take my hat off to wolfie: The S+R port really looks magnificent next to it.

And then of course, is the huge, white, blurry cube: Windlight, fog and the effects generated by that cube, which was apparently created by a gentleman named Gene Replacement really make for amazing photographs I think.

MosMax's slide...

It is a long long slide from a great height all the way into the water. You touch a red ball and land inside of it and get catapulted down. If you are in mouselook it is a somewhat grueling experience. The construction itself is a beautiful luminescent wireframe. I went down quite a few times while I took these and will be back for more...
