FairChang Steam Isle (127, 122, 32)

Held at Happy Daze Bar which was part of the Babylon 5 Roleplay which is still above the Delenn sim in Second Life.

And you can paint your place too, if you go here:

and get the flight gizmo.

Thank you Naxos, for showing me!!!

:-)

And thank you pallina60 Loon, for providing this!

(Naturally, it all looks much better with one of Mescaline Tammas' sky presets. This is one of the London ones, always forget the number, for some reason)

Bubbles is an Avi Choice Award winner for 2014 and she performed a mix of songs at Two Moon Gardens' Radiant Falls venue on Saturday 28th March 2015 from 12pm to 1pm SLT: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ferndale/113/70/26

This is most definitely my one favorite structure anywhere in the metaverse. Putting anything near it/next to it is a huge challenge but I really take my hat off to wolfie: The S+R port really looks magnificent next to it.

And then of course, is the huge, white, blurry cube: Windlight, fog and the effects generated by that cube, which was apparently created by a gentleman named Gene Replacement really make for amazing photographs I think.

What ultimately emerged was something of swanlike grace.

The best part about dress-up games in SL is mix and match: So, one of our main worries when designing full outfits evolving around a skin theme is that it may put off some people from making the purchase: It could conceivably appear that our stuff would be hard to combine with all the other things which they already possess. Lately some of the tribe have been combining their designs with that of others to find out if it actually works - and it would appear that it does. I will be posting some of their (and my) concoctions here from time to time.

One of Xia's favorite outfits is her all black spikey ensemble in which she combines a black tu-tu with a lot of spike-ware which she had gotten at the freebie dungeon in her noob days. The Redoute mohawk and skin provide a contrast which does seem to work!

Yay!

NEW - Spring Planter 2 - 6 Prims - in this the 4 corners have large shiny fatsia plants and the centre is in an array of soft muted shades including pink, lemons, aquas white and lavender and a hint of darker purple. A lovely mix of shades for that something different. We also have Spring Planter 1 that is also available for just 99L.

Whichever of these large (6m x 4m) raised planters you choose (or maybe both) each is modify and copy. These are great for patios or garden dividers - see them here: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ferndale/237/93/120

Photograph settings are SL defaults and was taken on site at Two Moon Gardens using a midday setting. All other objects and surface patch were derendered and a prim rezzed underneath which had a grass texture from the library folder.

THE WATER PUMP - this was previously a transfer only gift for a short time - but now you can own a MOD/COPY version for only 101L. Buy in store or on the Marketplace. This is the link - marketplace.secondlife.com/p/WATER-PUMP-PATCH-with-flower... - or here - maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ferndale/63/74/26 - As you will see its a super small garden patch with old style water pump, water basin and some pretty planting.

Hack and wolfie rez more and more planes, creating a really bizarre conglomeration of wings and engines. The sound generated by so many planes alone was quite something!

NEW - Spring Planter 1: 7 Prims - the 4 corners have in a matching small shrubby tree whilst the central area has soft muted lavender and yellow coloured flowers with a hint of white showing too. We also have Spring Planter 2 that is also available for just 99L.

Giant purification tank, with rusty Hobo truck.

Syncretia/Citrinitas is an alchemical power plant which utilizes the water pumped from the Black Mountain for alchemical purposes. This water is cycled through the fairy chimneys at Syncretia/Cappadocia, after which it begins its long journey across the plains of the northern shore. The acquisition of alchemical properties is initiated during this phase: As it progresses the water gains in density. In the plant proper the water is further treated to the point where it can actually turn dross to gold! The two Hobo trucks inside the huge containers are currently undergoing treatment. One unexpected byproduct is a rejuvenating elixir! Sitting inside one of the spheres below the purification tanks can create wonders, not only in therms of appearance but also of state of mind!

Again I have added transparency to most of the prims that make up the original defender avatar of Flea Bussy and assembled them around Alpha to create the mechanoid/humanoid hybrid which is now posing on one of the hamster wheels at Syncretia. The skin is, yet again, Vry Offcourse's "Forge" skin...

Sadly, I crashed and was unable to witness the process of destruction to its fullest. These two shots here are really not amongst my best "nuke documentation" efforts...

I made all of them wear my things. They are mortified! To put it mildly...

Teddybear Hat and steampunk goggles: Waghorne Truss

Soon there will be a retrospective exhibition of Roy Ascott's work at the Plymouth Arts Centre in the UK.

Part of what is planned in terms of activities surrounding the event involves young artists from Plymouth to engage in creative activity (based upon Roy's educational methodology, the Groundcourse) in SL. Their meeting/building area will be this 80 x 80 x 80 meter floating sphere which I rezed at Syncretia

later tries in doing architecture within SL environment; using my own photographs, turning them into 1-bit black & white images with threshold command in photoshop, saving them as transparent PNGs, mapping them onto transparent planes within the metaverse.

photos used are from amsterdam, netherlands (bikes) and cadiz, spain.

Day 2 and I am back at it: One thing I realized looking at what I did yesterday is that I probably need to lessen what I have in the background. Here I have taken away some of those prims. Still need to do more of it by the looks of things though.

Second, I rezzed some lights to create lit up areas. It works to a certain extent but not to the degree where photshop is totally obsolete. So, there is still considerable selective light adjustment with both Curves and Levels in PS.

Third - and I really love this one: If one rezzes a prim and selects it the avatar looks at the prim, right? So, I used one of the light prims to get Alpha to look where I want her to look. As long as one disables the selection beam from the tools menu, it works like a charm! hhh

Hack and wolfie rez more and more planes, creating a really bizarre conglomeration of wings and engines. The sound generated by so many planes alone was quite something!

Some more wonders by Flea Bussy: A golem, a defender and a crawler. I shall be breaking them apart and combining them with "human" Alpha but they are so gorgeous as they are that I decided to photograph them in thier entirety first. Besides I need the fully non-humanoid avatars for comparison purposes anyway. So, these avatars are well differentiated into being non-human. As such they would have to fall outside the Valley threshold. But do they I wonder?

Very special thanks go to Jonny Dusk, who gave me his beautiful graveyard roses, which I hugely scaled up. Jonny also gave me the altar which I tried to terraform into the crevice of the mountain.

There is still some work to be done here but with material like this to play around with, how can one possibly go wrong?

The reflective surfaces are not textures!

Mumixer had pointed me in the direction of Devil's Moon a few weeks ago but with one thing and another I only made it out there today - and fell flat on my face so to speak: I was always under the impression that reflections and reflectivity is beyond the scope of present day real time render. So, how on earth did they achieve this? And why does it create no lag whatsoever? I took a lot of screenshots, some from the exact same location at slight angle variations since I want my computer scientist colleague, Selim to take a look at these and tell me what the hell is going on here...

Beautiful SIM too btw, but quite frankly the technology had me so gobsmacked that I couldn't really take much else in. Will go back for sure.

6 hours later:

ahum... Mossy put me wise: It is an extremely clever design trick: They did the entire architecture twice, one being the perpendicular mirror image of the other and then interleaved it with those transparent textures.

jeez... am i embarrassed or what?
