This little video camera is part of my PAP setup: it has a build in 2.4Ghz transmitter. It is part of the camera rig on top of the 10 meter pole, the receiver on the ground shows this live view and allows me to aim the camera precisely.
a video showing total Insolation for the last 12 months. Insolation means "how much light hits the Earths surface".
Blue areas have least, white areas are in the middle and red areas have most.
Data from NASA Earth Observations.
Used QGIS to calculate the total insolation over the course of a year (with Raster Calculator) and render the map.
Country boundaries courtesy of Natural Earth.
Animation was done with Blender. Flight path seems a little crazy - it was designed to show all parts of the globe :-)
Interesting to see some odd anomalies - China, for example (caused by smog/pollution?) and the slightly less bright areas around the equator and tropics, which I assume are to do with cloud cover. Altitude will also have an impact (e.g. the Andes and Greenland being brighter)

The Video Game Brain is a switching unit for Atari 2600 cartridges. The unit allows 6 cartridges to be inserted. The cable on the Video Game Brain has a plug similar to an Atari 2600 cartridge that is then plugged into the Atari 2600 and buttons beside each cartridge are used to select each game for play.
My latest ambience video just premiered. I'd love to have you as one of the first viewers! Be sure 4K Quality is selected before watching, and adjust the volume for comfort.

"Soar like an eagle over scenes of indescribable natural artistry in Arizona, where geological wonders unfold like a kaleidoscope of color below. Each episode is accompanied by uplifting music to match its distinctive aura of light and shadow.
"Some of the most dramatically colorful geological layers in the world are found in the Chinle Formation of the American southwest. This stratum, extending from Nevada to New Mexico with major exposures in Arizona and Utah, consists of horizontal bands of soft mudstone with a remarkable diversity of colors. Impressive enough from ground level, the sensation is fantastic from above! The emotional impact of the colors changes dramatically with the light at different times of day. The videographer did his own research to find some of the best outcrops, and knows of no other photographs from most of the sites. That makes this video essentially one of a kind."

We had a little excitement in the neighborhood tonight (3-22-15).. I was just getting ready for bed and someone came banging on the door and when I didn't open they yelled that there was a fire behind me... I went and looked and the shed that was between the back of the school and Dave's house was on fire.. The trucks weren't there yet so I called 911 and they said they were on the way.. So I grabbed the camera and shot a little video from my back patio... And then... I went and got the key to the gate to unlock it in case they needed to go thru my yard also... Well, About that time a stream of water hit me in the back and I got soaked.. They had arrived !!!! I am sorry that I wasn't very steady with this video but kept forgetting to make sure I was looking at what I was taking instead of watching the sparks fly up and over our houses... Am so thankful that there wasn't anymore damage than what was done.. Dave lost all his arborvitae along the back and it was getting close to my shed so was getting a little anxious for the fellows to get it stopped... I am doing this now because I am waiting for my hair to dry where I got wet.. LOL!!
