I had someone question the seeing conditions that were present when I took my picture of the gibbous moon on February 2 and I responded that the atmospheric stability/quality wasn't very good. In any case, here is a 10-second video clip that I captured at nearly the same time that I took the still capture of the moon that I posted a few days ago. This is a 1:1 crop from the center of 1080p HD video that was shot with the same equipment that I used for the still image (which you can view through the following link).

If you compare the still image (which was NOT a composite or a stack of selected images) with the video you will probably be surprised that the still image looks so good.
By the way, I replaced the audio that was in the original video with a recording I did last summer in the local mountains (I don't live in the country, all you could hear in the original video was traffic and some distant voices).

This image was made without any use of photo-editing software. Simply set up your model in LDD and render it. Then render it again, using the PNG file from your first render as the decoration for the computer screen. Do this a couple of times more and then do a final render to add the camera. Thank goodness for a faster laptop, as this would have taken me forever 12 months ago.

The Hölderlin Tower is named after the poet Friedrich Hölderlin (1770-1843). In that tower he lived during the second half of his life, from 1806 to 1843. It is the place where his last poems were composed, often signed under the pseudonym »Scardanelli«. While living there, he used to be visited by contemporaries, admirers and other authors.
Nowadays, Hölderlin is considered one of the most important German-speaking poets. The tower in which he spent the last 36 years of his life represents one of the most significant literary places of rememberance worldwide. Moreover, his works have been adapted to numerous works of literature, music and art.
