Very small Mai Tai cocktail. And very delicious too. For Macro Mondays. This week's theme is 'Beverage'. HMM!

I have no idea how many little ones they are,

I don't like to bother them cause some times the parents will leave them.

Happy Friday!

Dear friends,

Here is a view of the wonderful glass roof in the department store Galeries Lafayette in Paris.

Happy day or night :-)

Hugs! :-)

Through my window...

A very rainy day in London. Taken from the cover of a subway near the Imax, Waterloo. The heavens absolutely opened with a downpour of almost biblical proportions for a few minutes - well, by British standards anyway. The walkways turned into rivers, water flowing almost an inch deep in places, soaking my feet even though I was undercover. It was worth wet toes for the rest of the day for the drama of being there, and it lent interest and atmosphere to the scene in front of me. Canon EOS 6D & EF 28-80mm f/2.8-4.0L @ 46mm, f/4, 350th sec @ ISO 800.

Very southern Alberta.

Very early on the the Charles bridge and too early for creazy crowds. Prague, Czech Republic.

Very nice sunset on the river. Colorful und wonderful clouds and reflections.

Very shy and well hidden in the forests - just when drinking you can sometimes find them with some luck in the dark ;)

Very old Cypress Tree stands alone on top of sandstone boulders, Joshua Tree National Park, Ca.

Best viewed large.

I'm very happy because it was the first time that I saw a woodpecker in this mountain range. I have been going to this mountain to photograph for more than 15 years and I have never seen this woodpecker species.

It is very rare to appear in mountainous areas with an altitude of 1000m... or more.

I have better pictures of him, but I like this one :-)

Taken at the end of a misty and dark day, with very little light.

Very well, then. It's a series - once I have a name for it. At least it's not facing left, though.

After all, what's better than a constant, when combatting the restlessness brought about by impending change?

Thank you so very much for this surprise gift of cover. I'm so happy and extremely honored. Hugs and love 💗

Quiet, but still, and still a very crappy jetty. Well past its SELL by date. It would be interesting to know what it used to look like when the timbers were still young, all vibrant and full of activity?

Apparently I used to be like that once. Now it just seems I'm seen at my worst. What cheeky plank said that?

Mind you there is something becoming and interesting about the old jetty at Taynuilt. Not gone yet, and still around to thrill those that seek its charms one beautiful evening

I was reminded of this painting by Levitan, who did mostly landscapes but also included structures in some of his paintings. When i saw this, i thought, the scene needed a cat:-) My version of a rural structure, did in fact have a resident cat:-)

Bird in freedom. La Ceja, Colombia; Central Andes; 2.300 meters above sea level.

Momotus aequatorialis (Andean motmot / Barranquero)

The Andean Motmot, as the English name implies, is the Andean representative of the "Blue-crowned Motmot" complex. For many years, all members of this group were considered to be conspecific, but this group now is reclassified as representing five different species. The Andean Motmot occurs in humid montane forests of the Andes mountains of South America, from Colombia south to Bolivia. Andean motmot is a big bird about 50 cm from beak to tail.

These birds often sit still, and in their dense forest habitat can be difficult to see, despite their size. They eat small prey such as insects and lizards, and will also regularly take fruit.

From my archives. Large view is better.

Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. I very much appreciate it.

It is possible to go inside, but it is not easy to do. Because the steps leading to the front door were torn off. In addition, it is quite clear that everything that can be taken from this house has been stolen.

A very unique looking bird adept at natural camouflage and found in the higher elevations of the Himalayas. The male - in this picture - has a very interesting pattern and I struggled to sight it for a couple of minutes even while the others started taking shots.

This is a gamebird closely related to the Grouse bird. The birds just lay down on the forest floor and stay still making it very tough to identify them. They also forage on the forest floor eating pine nuts, shoots, seeds, pollen and other fruits that fall on the ground. I believe they are named after their calls (noted from Wikipedia).

Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.

I'm very happy to be re-united with gorgeous little Candy today after a couple of nights away in Tuddenham, Suffolk. We should have been staying with some resident swans, but they flew off a couple of weeks ago...

Never mind...I found a beautiful little organic farm who were kind enough to let me take lots of photos. Turkey portraits coming soon, as well as a young bull and little pig!

I also got out for a couple of landscapes, capturing heathers at sundown and autumn hills...coming soon also. Little Tiffin is sitting with me as I prepare the photos for sharing :)

very late this year!
