Students from Gladesmore School take to the streets to campaign against gun and knife crime in Tottenham, North London as part of the Value Life Campaign originally set up by Youth Act campaigners in 2003
As part of the ALSO! Project, I took photographs of existing design in the Terminal Stores Building. These photographs show that design was already present in this space before the Wanted Design 2013 show brought in new furniture and design. Design is all around us if we take the time to look.
this has a very nice examle of value bc of the fact it goes from light to dark. and i love the color blue
This countertop in my dorms common area was very interesting, in this picture it looks like a countertop that has tints and shades which is true. At some points of the day some parts of the table change color due to the light coming from outside. Throughout the whole counter you can see the value scale. I think this is interesting because everyone sees the color change differently.
Value is apparent in this picture, as indicated by the monochromatic scale. This is interesting because the value in this piece allows one to see the subject of the picture.
The Arkansas novaculite of North Mountain has long been valued for the hardness of the rock. As I mentioned before, Native Americans used it as spear tips, axes, and arrowheads. I orignally thought this little pit just downhill from the Goat Rock Trail was the result of thier work, but it's a bit more recent. Starting in 1818, A Scotsman named Anderson started a business here mining the novaculite and selling it as whetstones for metal blades all across the eastern U.S. There are supposedly similar pits all over the mountain, but this is the only one I saw.
1. The element shown in the image is value. Value is reflected into the image due to the transition of various tones of blues. From top to bottom the transition starts with a dark blue to a lighter blue then light blue almost white, then it transitions to a light blue then normal blue then darker blue again.
2. The subject matter of the image is birds eye view of a country taken from a plane.
I found a kleenex box that demonstrates value. You can see the mixing of the light pink into orange in a subtle way, which is showing the color value scale in action. However, it is interesting that this is not demonstrating just one color, it's showing the progression into another.
This picture was also captured in my dorm! This is a picture of the ceiling, with my flash on. I turned the flash on to create a sense of different lightness and darkness in the picture, and the end product consists of value using am achromatic scale (meaning in all black and white). I thought this was the most interesting picture that I took because I really captured the difference in value located on the ceiling.
This candle is supposed to represent value. It can be seen at the bottom of the candle is the pure color, while as the candle goes up the color becomes lighter.
I chose this image because it's very nice. It is valuable to the school because if the school didn't have it, then people won't know what's the name of the school. It might have good contrast too, just saying.
This photo is a good representation of value because it has both dark black parts, and very bright white parts. The Black of the background and the darkness of the surrounding wood and cobwebs contrasts to the bright white part of the cobweb where the sun is shining.
What is the element of art and how is it reflected?
Value, the whites and blue blend to make a painting life effect in the sky.
What aspect of the photo is most visibly striking?
Just how unrealistic it appears to be. At first glance it doesn’t seem to be taken by a camera, yet it is.
The shade of lightness and darkness illustrates value seen in this bottle of Hugo boss perfume.

These shoes have many different shades and tints of lightness and darkness. You can easily see the different light and dark areas of the shoes.
I want to raise my family in this great city. It is a challenging proposition against the curve, so I use signposts for inspiration.
