Am 26.07.23 fährt der HLB VT 260 in den Bahnhof Altenkirchen(Westerwald) ein, als RB90 auf der Fahrt von Siegen Hbf nach Altenkirchen(Westerwald). Die Züge endeten in Altenkirchen(Westerwald), von dort bis Westerburg bestand SEV.
Schienenbus VTG 98 des "Bayerischen Localbahnvereins" war am 1. Dezember 2018 bei Ãœbersee in Richtung Traunstein unterwegs.

VT 390135 'City of Lancaster' is seen at Warrington Bank Quay, working the 9S47 London Euston (07:43) to Glasgow Central (13:15).

Canon VT with the lovely (and talented) Canon 50/1.8 LTM (Leica Thread Mount) lens. The VT, introduced in 1956, was an interesting transitional model with some nifty original features and the unusual built-in triggerwinder on the bottom. My first interchangeable-lens Canon rangefinder. Another view here.
This was an eBay bargain, a rare impulse buy for me. The camera and lens together were about the price of either item alone. I figured if either one worked then I'd be doing ok.
The camera turned out to be in perfect working order, though clearly well used. Unfortunately the lens had some oil on one of the internal elements. I disassembled it with the help of some tips found on rangefinderforum.com, cleaned off the haze, and crossed my fingers. The results look pretty good, so I'm happy.

Der VT 03 wurde 1951 bei der Maschinenfabrik Esslingen mit Nr. 23350 gebaut und als T7 bei der AKN in Dienst gestellt. Von 08.04.1977 bis 04.08.1988 gehörte er als VT 03 der Regentalbahn AG in Viechtach. Seit 05.08.1988 ist er als VT 03 bei der Regental Betriebs GmbH, Viechtach im Einsatz.

The trend that shaped the automotive industry of the 23rd century was that of consolidation - the world could not afford having numerous car factories being run around the globe and shut down once a model went out of production. Instead, immense facilities that massively benefitted from economies of scale were being built in areas where strong links of deep sea and rail infrastructure provided connection with the major markets.
Because of this, every successful or failed model of any major company left a lasting impact in the media and on automaker's reputation. In 2210 Velocitech have rolled out their Vulcan Mezzanotte - a right car that came at the wrong time. Shortly after the capacity at the VT plant has been allocated, the global economy began to experience a noticeable recession with reduced borrowing happening across the globe. Luckily, it turned out to be short-term and not at all impactful, yet the media did its job when it came to exaggerating the seriousness of the situation. Mezzanotte was marketed as a higher-than-average class luxurious coupe, and apparently there was no space for such a model at that day's world.
Obviously, the target audience didn't care much about how Mezzanotte fit in with all the recent events, but the public opinion was more than ever driven by the uneducated masses, resulting in the very targeted customers eventually turning away from this luxurious coupe. Later on, a number of famous car enthusiasts have praised this model for its decent performance and a level of comfort that was hard to top - but it hardly made any difference, because a thing of the past was anything but interesting to the modern public. Another factor that majorly contributed to this model going unnoticed were stubborn car dealers, who didn't seem to want to give the lower-paid segment of population a chance to own a higher-class piece of automotive engineering - probably because they refused to believe there was sufficient positive publicity to justify such a move on a larger scale.
The year was 2207 and technological innovations seemed to pop up everywhere across the globe. The automotive sector was also showing signs of thriving with the surfacing of several new car manufacturers, including Urokko in 2204. Velocitech had their production schedules steady, but overall they had a hard time matching the world stride for stride. The company executives knew they needed some fresh publicity. Assembly line managers knew that too. Heck, everyone in VT knew it, even part-time office building cleaners felt that there's something brewing. And there indeed was.
By the end of January VT had a product development team assembled that for the next four weeks could be seen (and indeed, heard) brainstorming marketing, design and configuration aspects of the new model. Half of the team hardly knew each other, but by the end of their final meeting everyone was in a pleasant mood and seemed to agree on all major aspects of the product. Exceptionally handy came in a recently hired graduate majoring in Automotive Studies. His idea of painting the model in orange/black livery that a Dutch Spyker F1 team used to race in up until 2007 has proven to be a huge success, more so that it was somewhat a two-century commemoration of the date. It was the only colour the car was produced in, although some owners, according to occasional street sightings, were inclined to paint the orange parts in red, brown, grey and even black.
The VT Spyker was effectively marketed through a well-timed Halloween-themed commercial, and featured an unconventional rear-end design with a wing and matching tail lights. Additionally, it had another small wing in a place where one would expect to find a diffuser, which made Spyker very distinctive. The model also served another purpose - it was a testing ground for many fancy composite materials that have been developed recently, and also certain new technologies. Some innovations have been gradually or immediately dropped, but some appear to live hitherto. Overall, thanks to the efforts of a noisy, yet professional development team with a bucketful of fresh ideas, company's name has been once again strengthened, and the world saw another exquisite piece of automotive industry.
