The tall, golden-haired, blue-eyed twin goddesses were modeling the black & gold Braveheat Sword (Cross) simsuit and "Gold 45 Revolver" Gold'N'Virtue swimsuits with the main equation to Moving Dimensions Theory on the swimsuits: dx4/dt=ic. May the Hero's Journey Mythology Goddess inspire you (as they have inspired me!) along your own artistic journey! Love, love, love the 70-200mm F/2.8 Lens! Holding it up all day, alongside the Sony NEX 6 with the 50mm F/1.8 lens for cool video bokeh which I have mounted under the Nikon D800E camera, is quite the workout! My shoulders have gotten bigger after so many days with six hour shoots in the AM and 3 hour shoots in the PM holding that rig up :). Plus I have to carry all the gear, books, and clothes a few hundred yards up and down the steep cliffs. I count my photography days as two workout days. :) But I love it! Every day presents a puzzle--how to figure out the light, and every model presents a mystery to be unlocked--what are her best angles/poses/actions? Nothing beats the challenge of capturing the natural beauty of a day out there, when the light's dynamic range can change by a factor of ten in a few minutes as the mist burns away to reveal the sun, and then the wind whips up and a fog rolls on in, making it seem like a windy December dusk in July. One must always be mindful of tide, times, and temperatures and work quickly before the cameras get too hot in the sun, or the model gets too cold in the wind, as the tide and rogue waves reach out to grab your equipment/props/clothes and claim them for Poseidon, the god of the sea . Beach photography/video is just like surfing, with the conditions always changing and every wave a bit different. Studio photography is like riding an exercise bike set at level 1 in a gym in front of a TV. And shooting stills and video @ the same time is like Jimmy Page or Slash improvising on his double-necked guitar.
I'm working on a book called "Lone Cowboy Photography: A Humble Hero's Journey into the Art of Photography" about how to shoot it all on your own--stills and video for sports, portraits, and landscapes--with no assistants nor teams. Just you and the goddesses, the heroic athletes, the majestic, epic landscapes, and a copy of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey to teach you of the poetry of epic, heroic beauty. You gotta be ready, son--you gotta be ready for quick-draw showdowns at sunrise and sunset, during the magic hours and in the harsh light at high noon. Every shoot is over the second you finish packing your bags for the day with all your batteries, backup cameras, freshly-cleaned lenses, washed and folded clothes and hoodies, and props and polarizer filters. Day 2 - Fort Worth Audubon Society Ecuador Magic Hummingbird Circuit Tour. San Tadeo feeders: This was a great stop between Tandayapa and San Jorge Milpe. I couldn't locate it on the map but great tanagers and hummingbirds and several Chocó endemics.
Ordered by Hants and Dorset, but delivered to Bristol in April 1981, Bristol VR / ECW DHW 351W is seen here performing at the Isle of Wight Beer and Buses event on 15th October 2016. The vehicle has carried a number of liveries in preservation including NBC green and Badgerline livery with it now wearing this Swindon and District NBC poppy red livery.

#AlphaTrainingRecap 9/12: On dirait les joysticks d’une console un peu rétro ️ mais ils ont un rôle très important. Grâce à eux, on pilote le Canadarm 🇨🇦 de la Station spatiale internationale pour la maintenance, les sorties extravéhiculaires et aussi pour amarrer des vaisseaux cargo. Ce sont des manœuvres délicates pour lesquelles il a fallu m'entraîner. Le bras a de nombreux degrés de liberté et seulement 2 joysticks pour les contrôler !
Dans le futur, on utilisera peut-être les connaissances acquises grâce à l’expérience Pilote : elle utilise un casque de réalité virtuelle et un dispositif avec retours haptiques. L’objectif est d’aider les futurs explorateurs lunaires et martiens à piloter des robots. Mais pour l’instant, elle ressemble un peu à un jeu vidéo 🎮

#AlphaTrainingRecap 9/12: These are the joysticks we use to move the @Space_Station's Canadarm for maintenance, spacewalks and berthing spacecraft. As with everything training makes us get used to it. We use the joysticks to operate the robotic arm in all degrees of movement possible, which is many! There are some pictures of the setup on the Space Station where there are two robotic workstations, one in Cupola and one in the US Destiny Lab, and a picture of the arm in use, releasing HTV-6. Hopefully this year the European Robotic Arm will be launched with the latest addition to the International Space Station, the Russian laboratory Nauka, then we get an extra two robotic arm workstations!

For many, the star of the Express Motors fleet is their open top Bristol VR UVW 622S. Once again this year the bus has made it's annual appearance on a shuttle service linking the Ffestiniog Railway's 'Harbour' station, the Welsh Highland Railway (1964)'s operation, the Cambrian Coast line at the other end of town and the Pont Croesor railhead where the majority of the 'big' Welsh Highland trains terminate. Twice a day the service diverts to serve the holiday parks at Morfa Bychan (Black Rock Sands area) and it was returning from there that this picture was taken.
I'd seen the top of bus approaching in the distance over the trees, but thoroughly expected the little group of walkers who'd shown up out of nowhere to louse it up after all the planning! ... Luckily ....
Nikon 24-70/2.8E VR shot with D810. Developed in Lightroom 5.7.1 to Adobe Standard with sharpening at 35/0.5/36/10, no NR.

Using the old 70-200 VRI f2.8, which is the first professional grade lens I purchased, many years ago. I replaced it with the AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR lens, which is much better in almost every way. But I used the old version for tens of thousands of images, on a range of bodies, and was quite happy with it until trying newer lenses like Sigma ARTs. The romance with the old lens died at that point. But, like an old dependable horse, I won't sell it, just put it out to pasture in my lens cabinet next to its' Holy Trinity mates.

Ten years ago, First still had a handful of Bristol VRs in service in Dorset, albeit mainly on schools work. Here we see former Southern National 1161 (AFJ 768T) at Bridport on such a duty. A few weeks before this photo, First had moved the Weymouth & Bridport operations onto the First Hampshire Ltd licence (appropriately renamed First Hampshire & Dorset Ltd at the same time), so the bus was technically on its third keeper from new: Western National OC, Southern National and FH&D. The FH&D company, of course, started life in 1986 as the arms-length company for Southampton Citybus.
On a completely different topic, I'm very pleased to see that Aviary has had a revamp and the incredibly annoying borders to any text added to pictures has been dropped. Yippee! :-)
Novocherkassk Russian built class Sr1 no. 3050 is seen waiting at Kouvola with train P75 the 10.05 Helsinki to Oulu. This service took an indirect cross country route to the north of Finland, first heading east to Kouvola before taking the inland route north up the centre of the country via Pieksämäki and Kuopio taking 8hrs 10mins to reach Oulu on the Gulf of Bothnia. The direct route from Helsinki via Tampere took just over 7hrs back in 1986.

Devon General Bristol VR 623 DGR477S on The Strand Torquay. This bus was new to Northern General but had been ordered by Trent. Two apologies one for the photo quality and the second for the date taken. It was a day when the booked open topper on this route was being used for the celebrations of a local sports team.At the time it was one of the last full size buses in use in a minibus dominated fleet.
