I don't know if it was just me, but I never felt comfortable trying to get into the Laira depot at Plymouth, any requests in person were frequently denied, or at best, given grudgingly. It was suggested to me that I write before going, but I was never in a position to say on the 12th of next month that I'd be in Plymouth, could I please take a few photos of buses in your depot, most trips being planned a day or two in advance. Hence many of my photos of this depot were from the outside or quickly snatched from the entrance, like this one. Not a lot on show this day apart from this unibus advert VR and an ex LT DMS with Cornish Fairways fleetname.

Happy Macro Monday to all flickr friends, HMM

In England the Mail boxes, as well as many other things, are marked with the reigning Monarch at the time of their installation. Here, VR stands for Victoria Regina, which is Victoria the Queen, or Queen Victoria. Makes this box from the 1800s

Among my neighbours is a young man who could best be described as a computer geek. Through him I have explored a whole new world of IT experiences, Virtual Reality among them. Last week I bought a Virtual Reality headset and software. Yesterday he installed and set up my VR device, allowing me to enter a new world of amazing possibilities.

With VR software I can travel anywhere and experience anything from sky diving to white water rafting on the Colorado River. From driving a F1 racing car to diving the Great Barrier Reef, and all without stepping outside my front door.

I shot this brief video of my neighbour interacting with a VR real life setting. My life has been transformed and this is only the first day. Adventure before dementia, that's me, just as described on the label.

Pretty happy with the stickering on this one. Some of the stickers are Lego, some are from an Estes model rocket kit, and some are from BrickStix.

This still is part of a backup for a virtual reality 360 I took at this location. We're experimenting with ways to bring VR into online courses, and I played with some of the technology while at a conference in Jackson.

We're doing a serious pilot project at Indiana Dunes National Park this spring. We want to know what things students do (not) learn effectively in a VR setting.

Whatever the answer to that question, I spent a lovely morning snowshoeing off-trail through Grand Teton National Park, taking both VR and conventional images.
