I had an hour this morning on my way to show the new camera off at Samy's Camera in LA. So, a trip to the studio was in order.
I had arranged to meet a model at the studio. But that didn't work, so plan "B"! I had this peacock feather laying around and with an addition of an over sized drop of water...
The lighting was left over from the shot with my dog, Oliver. I killed the rim light and went with the single flash in the Orb.
The ISO was pushed up to 400 ISO so that the flashes were more efficient at the Æ’/18 setting. Æ’/18 was selected for the added depth of field I wanted when working this close and handheld.
A short, steep section on my home-trail, shot by my daughter
You never really see how steep it is, but if you look at the birch-trees on the right and then back at the trail and at what angle it drops, you get an idea ;o)

My opinion: it looks good in white !

If I must be honest, I never could understand the point of bodying a low chassis with a highbridge body ... thereby making it less versatile. In this case, with the ECW VR, the standard height variety had widespread acceptance already and looked respectable enough if a little dated, but ECW's attempt at streching the body upwards was little short of an aesthetic disaster in my humble opinion. In a similar vane were the Nottingham AEC Renowns ... possibly the ugliest of the type, again with highbridge bodies on a low chassis.
Anyway, back at the beginning of this century I encountered this rather anonymous ex London Country VR, PPH 467R in a lay-by on the outskirts of Kirkbymoorside in Yorkshire. I'm not sure to whom it belonged, but the other buses present were owned by Stephensons of Easingwold.

Been doing some Updates to my T class lately these include: new front and rear steps and redesigned front and rear pilots infact most of the front and rear noses have been redesigned, redesigned bogies, bogies are now more accurately spaced because as usual i read the dimensions wrong, added jacking points, redesigned top exhaust thing (theres now a half plate gap between the raised part with the exhibits and the back raised part) i finally added the rectangle cut-outs on the sides of the cab it was still accurate without them but i thought I'd try add them just coz still no stickers though and probably won't have them for a while because i suck at stickers

With a PVR of two vehicles Mendip Mule has plenty to choose from with 7 vehicles in the end. UWV607S was new back in 1977 and had its life at opposite ends of the country with Southdown until moving within stagecoach to Scotland. It has been with Dave Hoare 18 years and seems a popular motor.
Went down to Happy Rolph's this afternoon to see some animals.
This is a city funded park with animals that have been rescued. All the farm animals are up for adoption. They look very healthy, well fed and well cared for.
The park also has ponds and a children's playground with picnic tables. A very happy place for the young children.
One of the smartest non pcvs this year for me must be VTV169S which forms part of an elusive fleet based in Perthshire but operated countrywide spreading the good word of God. This veteran new in January 1978 is shown about to set off on a marathon journey to the Outer Hebrides where it will be semi permanently based for most of 2015 at least.

Vought delivered this Corsair, Bureau of Aeronautics serial number 50375, to the Navy on April 26, 1944. By October, pilots of VF-10 were flying it but in November, the airplane was transferred to VF-89 at Naval Air Station Atlantic City. It remained there as the squadron moved to NAS Oceana and NAS Norfolk. During February 1945, the Navy withdrew the airplane from active service and transferred it to a pool of surplus aircraft stored at Quantico, Virginia. In 1980, NASM craftsmen restored the F4U-1D in the colors and markings of a Corsair named "Sun Setter," a fighter assigned to Marine Fighter Squadron VMF-114 when that unit served aboard the "USS Essex" in July 1944.

It's hard to tell here as the weather was so rubbish (and after the sun had been out less than five minutes earlier!), but this isn't 'Poppy Red'. What other colour would you paint an ex Eastern National Bristol VR than LT red and white? That said, the last PSV user of STW 30W, Hedingham & District, also had it painted in red, so I guess there's a precident.
The picture was taken today just after leaving the paint-shop, with Moorcroft pottery's bottle oven as a back-drop.
The VR is destined for life in a non-PSV role, I believe its to become some kind of mobile class room at a school in the Home Counties.
This is a build that's very close to my heart: may I present to you all the VR-052F Veritech, or more simply, the Cyclone. If you're a Robotech or MOSPEADA fan you'll most instantly recognise this build, it's iconic. As a kid, my dad raised me on Robotech, which in the last few years I've been able to expand on with my discovery of Macross and all of the other titles Carl Macek smooshed together to produce his saga. The basic idea of the Cyclone is to provide REF soldiers with increased survivability through a means of transport and enhanced combat effectiveness. It does this by transforming from a motorbike into a set of armour, granting the wearer extreme abilities via boosters, weapons and targeting systems.
