I've had a severe case of cabin fever due to my recovery from surgery and I just had to get out and shoot something today. I ventured down town to the state capital grounds and found some lovely flowering trees. They are almost done though because the petals are really falling. There was also a pretty cool abstract fountain that I will post for you to see as well. It wasn't a big outing, but an outing that fulfilled my need to shoot something :)
It certainly looks it's best viewed large on black here B l a c k M a g i c
sorry about the abysmal photo
here is my ZLP van that i put together this morning it actually went together pretty quickly considering its almost entirely made of plates and tiles
there's a couple of things i might change particularly the steps at each end and also the battery box's need work
and of course Lego's inconsistent dark red is on full display which is incredibly annoying
Enjoy the night sky as I did. My first experiment with 360° hemispherical panorama.

The real treat from the summer of course though, was during Goodwood Revival; where around 20 vintage buses descend on Chichester to operate shuttles into a bygone era! My stallion for the event was Stagecoach West's Bristol VR, JOU 160P; oddly the very first time I've driven a Closed Top VR, despite having done thousands of miles on Open Top ones! She is seen here operating late into the night on Serv: 902.

Back in the good old days (well from the enthusiast point of view) you could even find a gaggle of VRs in Devon away from the masses which were still in use in Cornwall.
This is Tavistock outstation in the morning after the school runs.
1201 was a Torpoint VR but was covering for shortages especially as that day it was working the 185 to Bere Alston normally the haunt of the Merc Minis!
Sadly 1201 was written off by a new Torpoint driver a few months later when it hit a low wall.
The other two VRs 1155 and 1262 survived for a good few more years the latter being one of my personal favourites.
I decided to build a new 'locomotive' for Brickvention, and thought a railmotor would be a quicker and easier build than another steam loco.
Built from 1948, the 102hp and 153hp railmotors consisted of a 4 wheel driving unit with a trailing passenger unit mounted on a single bogie.
The model has a PF train motor under the trailing unit, with the wheels on the motor unit unpowered. The motor and trailing units can slide apart by ~1 stud allowing the railmotor to handle standard Lego curves, but close up on straights and wide-radius curves.
