RBW 83M was the only semi-coach to be painted to this livery and is seen at Bicester in Sept 85, the only shot I managed of it, don't think it ever made Bedford
Unique small gray flycatcher found exclusively along fast-moving rivers and streams. Often perches on rocks in the middle of a waterway, but also along the edge. Plumage is also unlike any other flycatcher; pale gray overall with diffuse black cap and black wings and tail. Sexes similar. Pumps tail.

Staying at Burchell’s Bush Lodge is a unique experience. Not only is it an RCI Gold Crown resort but there is very easy access to Kruger National Park through the Paul Kruger Gate, a mere 200 metres from the resort. Our purpose is to provide Lodge guests with a bushveld experience next to the Kruger National Park and the Sabi Sand Conservation area. The emphasis is on guests relaxation and enjoyment of the natural surroundings while indulging in wildlife, birds and nature in general. We are fortunate to have a large variety of bushveld trees on the property, many of which have been identified and labelled. These attract a variety of birds especially in summer when our locals are joined by many immigrant songbirds. Enjoy coffee and rusks on your own patio while listening to the dawn chorus. For the more energetic, most sporting facilities are available locally. The swimming pool is a delightful respite after a hot day viewing game in the Kruger National Park, and tennis is available at the Protea Hotel next door to the Lodge. For those who relish a different kind of challenge, play a round of golf at the Skukuza Golf Club. Hazards take on a different meaning here as you can add stray warthogs and buck as obstacles to be avoided during your round.

During a brief stint in Washington D.C. in 2023, I spent the better part of a summer evening exploring the grounds of Capitol Hill. Few landscapes invite as much inquiry along winding paths paired with plenty of moments for quiet introspection on marble benches; all in picturesque view of the Capitol dome. These on-site experiences are exactly the form of anecdotal justification I seek when considering whether to recreate such monumental places in the first place.
In tackling any work of such storied precedence as the US Capitol, I always seek to expand the conversation beyond existing works in the medium of plastic bricks. While the consistent 1:650 scale among my works has always ensured some level of originality, it is no guarantee of further insight that cannot already be gleaned from existing works by other artists. With this in mind, I set out to capture the full 100-acre site currently maintained by The Architect of the Capitol. What's more, the diorama depicts a particular time of year - specifically late March to early April - as illustrated by the iconic presence of hundreds of cherry blossoms rendered in two shades of light pink.
The diorama starts downhill at the trapezoidal Capitol Reflecting Pool, with the Grant Memorial taking pride of place along its eastern edge and the US Botanic Garden across the street to the south. The diorama expands from there, capturing the radiating pathways meandering uphill, as designed by Frederick Law Olmsted within the parcels laid out in the city plan by Pierre Charles L'Enfant. The piece culminates with the widely imitated US Capitol Building, perched atop a plinth projecting from the Capitol Visitor Center on the opposite side.
Topping everything off is a custom-made representation of the Statue of Freedom (as designed by Thomas Crawford), steadfastly overlooking the National Mall from atop the dome. The statue was designed in collaboration with BigKidBrix and was sized comparably to the minifigure statuette / trophy element.
The piece was designed over the course of about two months: first in December 2023 through January 2024, paused during the build-out of SPQR - Phase II, then resumed between March and April. The build-out lasted from July through August and was completed by September. The piece will soon be added to my personal gallery of works, now available for touring exhibitions.

Items from elka, after 2 long years of absence... I am not sure what I think about it all, the process nearly made me die, didn't sleep in 53 hours, but... I can say I am actually pretty happy with the results, and I hope you will be too! <3 Either way, creating again opened some doors, I shall try to do it more often. I am NOT promessing the full revival of !BF!, but DU gives me the opportunity to have no choice to create something fun and unique every 2 months, and I need just that: inspiration. Here’s another shot from within the “new CD” department, once again looking out across the store; that’s the right-side wall of the building in the back of this shot, and the store’s entrance along the front where all that natural light is flowing in.
Be sure to check out those makeshift endcaps placed along these aisles. Obviously, given that these units were designed specifically to hold media, they weren’t exactly made to feature endcaps like traditional retail gondola shelves. But Trans World came up with a rather inventive workaround for that.

I purchased my first computer in 1985. It was the first revision of the original Macintosh--a Mac Plus. About that time I also began my photography career and was assigned to photograph Apple luminaries. On a couple of occasions I brought along my Mac to be used as a prop and afterwards had the subjects sign the bottom of the case. Signatures seen here include Steve Jobs, Andy Hertzfeld, Mike Boich, Joanne Hoffman, Patti Kenyon, Guy Kawasaki, Larry Keenan and a couple I can't make out. I still have the computer, manuals and discs and could be tempted to sell for the right offer. Scroll down the following link to see computer with Mac team mimicing a characteristic Jobs pose.

This unique road sign, in the delightful town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, England, is known locally as the Pillar of Salt. No-one quite knows why, but what we do know is that it was designed by Basil Oliver, the town council’s architect, in 1935, and it now has protected status.
Apparently the structure had to be granted special permission because the height of the letters and numbers didn’t conform to national road regulations. It’s also believed to be the first internally illuminated road sign in the country (and it still works). And despite street alterations, one way systems, road 'improvements' and all the rest, its pointed direction boards are still accurate!
By the way, in the background is the Abbey Gatehouse, which dates from the 14th century.

Sassafrass saplings cover the forest floor in this spot along a path. This is a unique tree, with its three differently shaped leaves. There can be a single-lobe, a mitten shape, and a three-pronged shape on the same tree.
They give the forest floor a fiery look in autumn along this stretch of the trail.
