One of Siligi's 7 cubs. Recent news informs me that there are now only two. Sad news indeed. There was such hope that she would do better. She was named Siligi which means "hope".

Good morning my friends, have a nice weekend!

Today's afternoon following the previous day's groundstorms. Cropland, farms and big sky on the plains. Patches of flurries, haziness and wispy clouds throughout today as well. (The grain silo in the background is probably 60-100 ft tall)

The town of Darwin, CA contains an outdoor sculpture garden containing works by residents in the town. I am uncertain about the artist and about the expression on the three foot tall head stuck in the ground.

Its 8am. There is a boy on the boat when people arrive to go the working place. Meanwhile he starts the machine and take out the water from the bottom of the boat. This is how the times going on the whole day. Sometimes he has been seen like the way he look in here.

I feel the pain of monotonous life on his eyes.

This particular juvenile was very reluctant to leave and I have a feeling that he was having an issue this the one foot. I know that the rest like this remain in this position as long as they don’t feel threatened, but something just didn’t seem right, and I didn’t try to get any closer. This is a juvenile Tri-colored Heron perched on an old snag on Horsepen Bayou.

tonight's prose…

bones lay on the cold floorboards

behind locked closet doors.

we all have them -

pushed into dark corners,

long forgotten.

skeletons of lost love

and broken promises.

comically painful moments

covered with shame and dust.

they want for a last embrace

for that ecstasy of mortal joy

extinguished long ago.

-- me.

The moon is a loyal companion.

It never leaves. It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do.

Every day it’s a different version of itself....

Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light.

The Michigan City coaling tower was built in 1923 by the Michigan Central Railroad. Constructed of reinforced concrete, the entire structure was poured in one piece. Amtrak deemed it structurally unsound and proposed to have it demolished in 2010. However, nearing its 100th birthday in 2023, it still remains standing with an uncertain future.

Demolition has finally commenced as of September 15, 2025.

Ex CDOT FL9 2027 looks forlorn parked on a spur track beside the Providence and Worcester mainline near MP 38.6 in storage for owner Boston Surface Railroad (maybe?). Built as New Haven 2015 in October 1957 it last ran in revenue service for CDOT in 2009 and after being stored for years was sold in 2018. BSRC had hoped to begin a privately funded commuter rail operation between Worcester and Providence that always seemed dubious and far fetched at best. After filing for bankruptcy in 2019 and being evicted from their headquarters in the Woonsocket depot in 2020 their website is now dead and their Facebook page hasn't been updated in years. Similarly this old girl has sat in this same spot for four years suffering occasional vandalism and awaiting an uncertain fate. Frankly I don't even know who owns this unit anymore or if it somehow got tied up in the bankruptcy, so if anyone could shed anymore light on it I'd love to know.

Sunset and some ominous clouds over Scarborough Marina, Redcliffe, Queensland.

Have a great weekend everybody. Thankfully with two variants raging and borders now open, the Queensland Government has mandated masks again. We have had so few cases until recently but even just before the border reopened, cases started going up. You all know what I mean, I refuse to say the word today!

Despite those clouds, it was a delightful afternoon at Scarborough. One of those unplanned events, my wife and I just popped out for a little drive and ended up walking the beach, collecting shells and having a lovely Italian meal. Who could ask for better than that? One never knows when it can all come to a grinding halt.

Take care all.

My uncertain path with green, that I may speed

Easily onward, thorough flowers and weed"
