For starters, I have no idea about anything RDH related. I just know that my girlfriend is struggling heavily, outside of her instructors being ambiguous about directions and her getting punished for it. She is a really smart dude and a creative and tough worker. She has two terms til graduation, and she expresses a lot of frustration and stress when it comes to filling up her quotas. Particularly the one where she needs to find patients with Calc 3 and 4, and a ‘special kind of build up’, and if she does not find these people in the real world to screen, she will be kicked out of her program.
I feel bad for a lot of reasons, but mainly because it seems like an almost impossible task to find a lot of Calc 3 and 4 patients on the street, unless she approached a homeless person and offered to pay for their screening or something outside of reasonable safety like that. She mentions that there are events and meetings where prospective patients can attend, and students are able to branch out that way. Though, I feel there has to be another way to find these patients. She has already paid out of pocket for some of her friends to screen, but that still isn’t enough, and she is limited on time and money. It doesn’t help that some of her friends are inconsistent with their attendance, which leads her to lose more hope in this method of finding patients.
Still, it seems like Calc 3 and 4 patients are a minority. And the ones with the special build up are the minority in that minority. And none of the people in her life has this that she knows of. I have absolutely no idea how I can help since this is completely out of my league.
Tl;dr: To those who have had success finding these patients, or those who have made it through this program, what advice can you offer to help a future dental hygienist out?

Like many consumer electronics purchases, an A/V receiver is a significant investment. Not only will you probably be spending at least $600 on one, but it will have a large effect on how the audio coming from your speakers sounds. In short, anything you run through your A/V receiver will only sound as good as the level of quality that it can support. So when you are shopping for a receiver, how can you tell which models are up to the task of giving you the top notch performance you need? Read on and we’ll break down the ins and outs of receiver comparison.
This is a huge topic, so for the purposes of this article, we are just going to focus on comparing A/V receiver power. We’ll run through a few key things to look for as you compare the power of different models, as well as identifying some of the tricks that manufacturers use to inflate their specs.
Weight Matters
It sounds simple, but it’s true, one easy to way to identify if a receiver has a quality power supply and transformer is to look at the weight of the unit. Cheaper power supplies and transformers and their associated components will be smaller and more light weight. Take a look at the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX102. It’s the entry level model in their Elite line and will only set you back a modest $499. The weight is listed at 19 lbs, which is pretty light for an A/V receiver. By contrast, the Onkyo TX-NR585, which is in a similar price range and lists comparable specs, comes in at 26 lbs, over 30% heavier. Even though they are both listed at 80 watts/channel, my money would be on the Onkyo to actually deliver more power in a real world situation because it’s likely to use higher quality components. Sure, this is conjecture, but it’s worth noting that Onkyos are fairly legendary in terms of their bang for the buck and the power they provide. Pioneer’s reputation on the other hand is a bit more mixed with a lot of their accolades being based on features and video performance rather than power. Speaking of power, let’s take a look at what you need to pay attention to when comparing specs.
Deciphering the Power Spec
Go back to that spec page for the Pioneer Elite VSX-LX102 and look at the power specs right at the top on the left hand side. Notice how there are actually two specs listed, 170 W/ch (6 ohms, 1 kHz, THD 10 %, 1ch Driven) and then 80 W/ch (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, THD 0.08 %, 2ch Driven, FTC). Pretty big difference there with one spec listing 170 watts/channel and then another showing only 80 watts/channel. So which power spec is correct? Well this where things get a bit tricky, because technically both specs are valid, but in the case of the 170 watts/channel number, it relies on very specific conditions that are highly unlikely to really happen. In order to actually get 170 watts out of this receiver, you’ll need to only be driving a single channel, that is only one speaker, and that speaker will need to be rated at 6 ohms and also will need to be to be only producing a 1 kHz tone. When will a speaker be producing just a 1 kHz tone? Only if you are running a test tone at that specific frequency, for all intents and purposes a speaker will never be producing only a single frequency during actual use. Oh and by the way, the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) will be 10%, which means you’ll have cranked the volume to the point where your speaker is producing tons of noise and basically sound terrible. So as you can see, that spec is there merely to make the receiver look like it will provide more power than it really will under normal conditions. Now just about every receiver manufacturer does this, in fact if you look at the Onkyo TX-NR 585 page you can see the same thing, so Pioneer is far from the only guilty party here.
In fact, things have gotten better in recent years, it used to be that for some models they would only give you this inflated spec and not even bother with the more realistic version that the second one represents. Let’s go through that second spec to see what it tells us about the power. The 80 watts/channel spec is a much better indication of the power that the receiver will actually deliver. First off, it’s connected to an 8 ohm speaker, which will draw less power. Second, it’s when a full band signal is being produced, all the way from 20Hz-20KHz, which is the typical range of most music. Third, that THD spec which measures distortion is at .08%. Higher end receivers can get you an even lower THD rating, with some even down to .01%, but for a model in the $500 range this is acceptable. Finally, in this case the receiver is driving two channels instead of one. Now here we run into a little bit of fudging as for movies it is very common for five or even seven channels to be putting out sound at once, but at least we can rely on this spec for the power output for two channel music listening. Just keep in mind, when you are watching a movie you’re going to get less power from the receiver, a good bet would be in the vicinity of 60 watts/channel for this model.
Bench Testing: The Real Proof
The best way to find out what kind of juice you are going to get from a receiver is to try and find a review where they have put the receiver through a bench test and measured it’s actual power output. One publication that regularly includes a bench test is Sound & Vision. If you are looking at models definitely check their reviews first to see if they’ve put a particular receiver through the paces. As an example, their most recent review is the NAD T 758 V3 and here is their bench test or as they call it, the test bench, tomato, tomahto I suppose.
The NAD T 758 V3 is a fairly high end unit and priced at $1300, so we should expect it to test quite well and get reasonably close to their stated specs. Looking at Sound & Vision’s test, it came in at 100 watts/channel with two channels driven at 8 ohms with .1% THD. Over on the NAD site, they claim 110 watts with two channels driven within “rated distortion”. The “rated distortion” is fairly vague and could mean practically anything, but if we look lower we see that they are advertising a THD of .08%. So they are being a little dishonest, as according to the bench test at .08% THD, the power output would in fact be lower than 100 watts/channel. One nice thing that NAD does give you is a “full disclosure” power rating which is all channels driven, full range signal at .05% THD, which is quite low. This rating is 60 watts/channel according to NAD. However Sound & Vision found that there was an output of 66 watts/channel with all channels driven but with a THD of .1%. There may be some fudging going on here too, but it’s probably only on the order of about 5 watts or so. Overall, if we just look at the bench test, 66 watts/channel with a .1% THD with all channels driven is a pretty good level of performance and again, not too far off from what NAD states. As you can see, finding a bench test for a model you are interested in is an extremely valuable evaluation tool.
Transformers and Amplifiers: High End Designs
If you are in the market for a high end receiver, there are a couple things to look to ensure you are getting a high quality amplifier design. One is a toroidal transformer, which is a transformer that is in a ring or donut shape, that’s right donuts aren’t just for breakfast anymore! But seriously, because the donut shape is symmetrical it minimizes magnetic leakage from the transformer and also reduces electromagnetic interference to neighboring circuits. Essentially, it allows for less noise to be introduced by the transformer to the rest of the amplifier. Toroidal transformers are also more efficient, meaning that more power makes it to your speakers rather than getting lost to leakage. Now you aren’t going to see a toroidal transformer in most receivers under $3000 as they are the hallmark of a higher end design. A couple of examples of receivers that use toroidal tranformers are the Marantz SR8012 and the Anthem MRX 1120.
Another feature of a quality receiver is discrete amplification. In many lower end receivers the amplifiers for each channel can share circuitry and in some cases even power supplies. In a receiver with fully discrete amplifiers, each channel will have it’s own circuitry as opposed to an IC that incorporates all of the amplifiers into a single board. This reduces crosstalk between the channels which is another form of interference that can result in distortion. Marantz are famous for their discrete amplifier designs and even offer it in the relatively reasonably priced SR5012 model which sells for $999.

Acid, in it’s purest form, can melt things. You’ve seen it in sci-fi films. In a lemon, acid has a less severe effect, but most assuredly enough it still has an impact of eroding your teeth over time; especially if consumed in conjunction with other highly-acidic food choices, the effect will be one you’ll see before long.
Read on to see if you already knew much about tooth erosion, and how much you might be exposing your teeth to this erosive villain when you go in for sour candies this holiday season.
What is enamel erosion?
There are four layers that make up your physical tooth. The pulp (the innermost portion and has connective tissue, nerves, and blood vessels, which nourish the tooth) is the deepest. The dentin that surrounds the pulp is hard as bone, and gives teeth their yellowish tint. The enamel (the hardest tissue in the body, covering the dentin and protecting other layers of your teeth from harmful bacteria) changes in temperature based on what you eat. And then, cementum is under the gum line, and covers the root of the pulp and connects tooth to jawbone1.
So, this enamel surface of your teeth is a protective layer. If your enamel is worn away by erosion, the underlying dentin is vulnerable to plaque, bacteria, and the whole gamut that causes decay.
What causes tooth erosion?
There are a few key culprits of tooth erosion. If you’ve been feeling sensitive to food temperatures, sweets and other foods, you can be aware of these corrosive foods (and signs of erosion) to take corrective action.
Drum roll – the biggest offender to teeth erosions is….acid! Acid comes in many forms. No matter the form, though, exposing your teeth to it will leach calcium from your enamel, therefore causing it to weaken.
This holiday season, try to avoid the following:
Carbonated drinks – Soda is bad for your teeth in general. In case you didn’t know why, we’ll spell it out: it contains high levels of acid, chemicals AND sugar for a triple-corrosive whammy.
Wine – The production process of wine makes it naturally acidic, so it doesn’t matter what your choice color is—it still can weaken your enamel.
Candy – We all know candy is bad. To remind you, though, sugar turns into bacteria and causes decay. But, in moderation and with good oral hygiene, it doesn’t have to be the end of the world. Sour candy, on the other hand, means acidity, which means erosion!
Sugar – As stated above, sugar is bacteria that turns into plaque that eats away at your teeth if not swished, brushed and flossed away – or better yet – not eaten at all – or at the very least – in moderation.
Fruit juices – The highest concentrations of acid in fruit juice can be found in cranberry, apple, orange and lemon juice.
Signs of tooth erosion:
In order to avoid dental problems like cracks, pain and decay in your teeth, it’s key that you pay attention for the following signs of erosion:
Sensitivity – Ever feel a twinge of pain after consuming something cold, hot or sweet? That can be because enamel has worked away.
Discoloration – You’ll notice a lot more yellowing as the dentin begins to be exposed from acid erosion to the tooth enamel.
Rounded teeth – Seeing rounded corners on your teeth? Yep, that’s almost certainly erosion.
Transparency – If the edges of your teeth start looking translucent, acid erosion has probably begun.
Cracks – Did a tooth crack? Or, are there some teeth that are rough around the edges? This could very well be erosion.
“Cupping” – If a dent appears on the surface of a tooth or a filling starts to rise out of tooth, acid may be to blame.
Worst-case scenario:
You won’t have teeth. That’s the worst case.
Up until then, you can lose one tooth, two teeth, or a lot of your teeth, because over the course of time, erosion can make them weak and then crack—weak teeth can then succumb to an attack of bacteria, which could lead to either an extraction, a root canal and later a crown, implant or bridge.
Tips to prevent erosion:
A healthy diet includes moderation in all things. We’re not here to deprive our patients of the finer things in life. That said, the following tips can help reduce chances of acid erosion to your teeth:
If you must drink soda – It may not be your choice way of drinking your favorite bubbly beverage, but it will curb the amount of acid that touches your teeth. Also, consuming a drink fairly quickly instead of sipping can help.
Swish with water – Even a half-glass of water can help wash away an acid that would otherwise sit on your teeth.
Avoid carbonation – Yes, that means champagne and soda alike. Milk, tea or flavored waters are good substitutes if you want a caffeine kick or something sweet.
Hold off on brushing – Brushing immediately after consuming something acidic can actually cause more damage than waiting, so hold off on brushing for at least 30 minutes after eating…particularly if there was something high in acid.
At the end of the day it’s all about moderation. How can you possibly avoid a glass of good ol’ bubbly on New Years Eve? Or that delicious glass of red wine Grandma paid a hundred dollars for? Or your friend’s “sinful and sour” cocktail recipe? Remember our tips on how to prevent the erosion, and be sure to schedule a post-holiday check in with your dentist to ensure everything is going good!

SHOCKING: Pair of twins misbehaves with Jacqueline Fernandez at Judwaa 2 trailer launch; Varun Dhawan comes to the rescue
When the Judwaa 2 makers announced a few months ago that they want real-life twins to grace the trailer launch of their film, it was seen as a great idea. After all, it was unique, never tried before and it also went with the theme of the film, that deals with twins.
Sadly, this well-promotional plan went for a toss. 50 pairs of twins were selected from a Twitter contest for the trailer launch. They were supposed to be a part of the trailer unveiling and they were also promised 30 minutes with the film’s star cast – Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez. Sadly, a pair of twins crossed the line of decency. The guys jumped the security cordon, pushed aside the bodyguards and charged towards Jacqueline Fernandez. They wanted to click selfies with her but sadly, they got uncomfortably close. Jacqueline Fernandez at first obliged but their aggression put her off.
At this point, Varun Dhawan came to the rescue. He asked the twins to leave. The interaction of the twins with the cast and crew was also cancelled. This dampened the spirits of the other twins present at the launch. Varun Dhawan understood their plight and he shifted the interactive activity from PVR Juhu, where it was originally supposed to take place, to Novotel, a five-star hotel nearby. Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez were to shoot for digital promos of Judwaa 2 and they squeezed out time to meet with the fans.
Reportedly, the Judwaa 2 team decided not to take legal action against the errant twins. They were promptly booked on a flight home.
Judwaa 2 is directed by David Dhawan and is all set to release on September 29.

Porter Robinson is personally rolling out the lineup for his inaugural music festival Second Sky. So far, it’s shaping up to be magical af and he’s adding in some J-Pop flavor.
The producer is beyond excited to announce one of his favorite Japanese acts, Wednesday Campanella, on the bill. He describes frontwoman KOM_I as “such a fearless and infectious performer.”
“they first came to my attention after the buzz of their 2016 SXSW performance,” he explains in a post. “(there’s a lot of legends about it — the rumor was that her show got shut down by the police so she kept playing her show from the back of someone’s bike). the music is tough to classify — i recommend going to watch any of of their many spectacular music videos.”

La verdad es una buena noticia que se estén desarrollando sistemas para aumentar la seguridad en los usuarios porque no han sido pocas las víctimas de hackeo con pérdidas sorprendente de dinero. Lo cual esperemos que no le pase a nuestros bolsillos.

Malaika Arora roped in to judge India’s Next Top Model 3
It seems like life has come full circle for Malaika Arora who made her way to films after debuting as a VJ for the popular music channel MTV almost two decades ago. Now, after featuring in multiple films and setting many a ramp ablaze, Malaika Arora, who is often regarded as one of the most stunning Bollywood personalities, has been roped in to judge the third season of MTV’s modelling reality show.
In fact, Malaika will be one of the panellists judging the soon to commence third season of India’s Next Top Model that will be aired on MTV. Talking about being one of the panellists judging the show, Malaika added that she would be judging the girls on various parameters. But most importantly, she will be looking at the ease with which they carry themselves.
As for the others on the show, joining Malaika Arora as another panellist will be photographer Dabboo Ratnani, while Anusha Dandekar and Neeraj Gaba will return for season three as host and mentor.

REVEALED: Arjun Kapoor becomes the face of the Girl Rising Campaign for gender equality
He tried to break the gender stereotypes with his film Ki & Ka and now Arjun Kapoor is going all out to support a real life initiative of gender equality with Girl Rising, Schools initiative. The campaign talks about promoting education for young girls and the Gen Y star has extended his support to the initiative since it is in sync with his thoughts and ideologies.
Further talking about the need of education, Arjun Kapoor believes that women getting educated will bring a much bigger positive change in the society as it will help them in parenting, making them better professionals in whichever field they chose to pursue. He further insisted on the need of giving women equal opportunities which in turn will benefit our country as a whole.
Elaborating on his involvement in the campaign, Arjun also asserted that he will be a part of several campaigns including the on-ground work. In fact, the actor is already planning to take the initiative a step further on Teacher’s Day [September 5] and he also mentioned about attending a conclave in Delhi to create awareness about this. While he appreciated the efforts made by Freida Pinto and Priyanka Chopra who too are a part of the Girl Rising initiatives, the actor believes that having a male perspective might establish a better connect with many.
As of now, Arjun Kapoor expressed his happiness over collecting Rs. 35 lakhs for the campaign, at the same time, he also reinstated the need of men coming out and talking about empowering women which will further add to the changes that the campaign is aiming at.
On the film front, last seen in Mubarakan, Arjun Kapoor will soon start prep for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar as well as Namastey Canada. Reports also claim that he will be playing the leading man in Raj & DK’s Farzi.

We have been busy behind the scenes getting ready to open under the new guidelines and regulations. All of our clinical staff now have high grade respirator masks which have been individually fit-tested and certified as safe. We also have a unique fan system placed in each surgery that completely clears the air within less than 10 minutes.
As a result of these measures (and many more)
we will be open for most treatments as from 09:00 on Monday 6th July
We believe that we will operate normal (published) opening hours from Tuesday 7th onwards. Please note though that we have a backlog of work that needs priority attention, which we will be working through over the first couple of weeks. Our priority groups are listed in the previous blog.
Our protective measures allow us to start offering hygiene appointments but these, and other routine appointments, are likely to be delayed until the end of the month. Please note though, that we are unlikely to be able to offer ‘joint’ appointments (where you can have your check up and hygiene in succession).
We are still required to pre-screen all patients and to ensure social distancing within the non-clinical areas of the practice, so it is definitely not ‘business as usual’ for the moment.
So, I refer to the previous blog and confirm that
any previously booked appointments are void at the moment
All appointments under the new guidelines need to be booked and confirmed by telephone and no one can be seen without a response to the pre-screening questions. Thank you for your patience and co-operation with this.
Our opening in July can be regarded as a ‘beta test’ for the procedures. The whole system is so alien to us all that we are sure it will need adaption and modification over the first few weeks. Furthermore, as the risk status changes (for better or worse), there may be other changes imposed or conditions relaxed.
For the moment it’s good news for all though, and we look forward to seeing you again even if we are peering at you from behind our PPE!

Out March 15 on Netflix is the new series “Turn Up Charlie” starring Idris Elba, Piper Perabo, and JJ Feild. The synopsis for the video reads, “Turn Up Charlie follows a down-and-out DJ who plots to rebuild his music career whilst working as a nanny for his famous best friend’s wild 11 year old daughter.”
While that may sound like quite the obnoxious Disney-channel-meets-millennial plot for a Netflix series ever, the trailer below should help put your mind at ease. Perabo and Elba are seasoned actors and their skill more than makes up for the shaky premise. The writing is also quick and witty, and doesn’t dwell too much on We Are Your Friends-esque tropes (sorry, Zac Efron).
The fact that Elba plays more of an amateur producer also helps to ground the series, as watchers are just as likely to be confused by phrases like “stack that layer” as his character is.

Vulnerability catches us at all the wrong times, or does it? I recently heard the term “vulnerability hangover” and completely related. There have been so many times I have felt like I tried something new or said something out of the ordinary and felt great about it at the moment. I felt empowered and really proud of myself. But then, time passes, and I thought about it, and thought about it some more, and second guessed myself, again and again. For example: “Should I have really asked for more money? Why do I think I have the right to get paid more? Did I offend someone?” Writer Brene Brown writes that vulnerability is not weakness, but rather it brings about “emotional risk, exposure, uncertainty, creativity and change.” Making yourself vulnerable is really about courage and having the courage to be who you are and say what you not only want to say but need to say to create the life you want to live.
Many women describe feeling vulnerable when it comes to sex and sexuality. Asking for what you want sexually will indeed expose you but try and think about that exposure as positive. You are exposing yourself for being a sexual person who wants to explore and change and of course there might be some emotional risks with that. In these situations, I always ask my patients what is the worst that could happen? A common example that often comes up with clients involves using a vibrator with a partner: You want to ask your partner to use a vibrator with you. That certainly takes courage to bring about a new subject and you are asking for something that will make you and probably your partner enjoy sex more, but there is also that uncertainty in not knowing their response. The best case is that they say “Yes” and buy one that same day. The worse that could happen is they say: “No” or some client’s biggest fear is of offending their partner and making them feel they are not “good enough,” and will feel insecure. In reality this rarely happens, but I have had a few clients return to me and say their partners were offended by bringing in a vibrator. A healthy relationship can get through these feelings, and open and honest communication can bring about compromise and open the conversation around sex in ways you might have never imagined could happen. Maybe your partner doesn’t want to use a vibrator, but they want to watch erotica. However, you will never know unless you allow yourself to take that emotional risk and ask. So, if like myself you sometimes feel yourself having a “vulnerability hangover” remember the word courage and turn that worrying into being proud of yourself for asking for what you need.

Mounting a TV on a wall can be challenging task, but in reality, it is only as hard as you make it.
Wall-mounting a TV can produce a better overall look and elevate the screen to a better viewing position while also freeing up space in the room. Wall mounts come in three basic categories, flat (also called slim or flush), tilt, and full motion (all also called articulating)
Picking out which mount is best for you
First off, no mount is perfect, they all have their pros and cons and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Let’s start with flat mounts. They are best for TVs installed at eye level (sitting or standing viewing position) where you want to keep the TV as flat and flush to the wall as possible. With no frills and a clean look, this is as simple as it gets.
Next are tilt mounts. They are great for TVs where a small amount of adjustment is needed. If you need to mount your display above eye level, you can angle the TV down for a better viewing position. Also, tilt wall mounts stick out from the wall slightly further than flat mounts do so if you have to hide something behind the panel, like an HDMI balun, Apple TV, or Roku, it’s now possible or at least easier to accomplish.
The third kind are full motion mounts, and they are incredibly useful. Need to mount a TV in a corner? No problem, you can put one just about anywhere. One good use for them is for computer monitors so you can angle them in towards a central viewing point. Once mounted, the TV can be positioned at any viewing angle you might need. However, use caution, as they can put extra strain and weight on your anchor points in the wall. You also will have to make sure you carefully route the cables to stay with the bracket arms as they are moved, so they aren’t damaged or unplugged.

Setting up where you want to mount your TV
The first thing you need to do when mounting a TV, is make sure it will fit in the space you’ve allotted for it. Measure the full size of the TV on the wall first, then you can determine the best place for the mount. The easiest way to do this is install the brackets on the back of the TV and then attach the wall bracket to the TV (off the wall of course) and take measurements where the wall bracket will be in relation to the TV. Obviously, you’ll need a couple of helpers to hold the panel in place while you make the marks.
For example, say the wall bracket is one foot wide by one foot tall. And when you put the bracket on the back of the TV, the panel hangs over another one foot on each side and one foot on the top and the bottom. If you want the bottom of the TV three feet from the ground, you would install the bottom of the wall mount four feet from the ground, since the TV will hang down an additional one foot. Take careful measurements and check both sides and the top and bottom of the TV position before drilling any holes.
Setting up how to your mount your TV
After you finished measuring where to attach the mount, you’ll need to identify the type of wall you’re going to attach it to. The most common walls are wood stud, metal stud, and concrete/block or brick. Each type requires a different approach.
Common mounting methods
Wood stud wall – Wood Screws or Lag Bolts
Metal Stud wall – Toggle Bolts
Concrete/block or brick wall – Tapcon anchors or Red Head wedge anchors
After you figure out what type of wall you are working with, you’ll need to make sure that when you drill into the wall you won’t hit any plumbing or electrical runs inside, or on the opposite side. Check for outlets and switches nearby and look for water fixtures too. If you’re not sure, consult an electrician or plumber. After you determine it’s safe to mount, place the wall mount on the wall and mark where you want your anchors to be. Always ensure you have at least four solid anchors in studs, and if you have a bigger/heavier TV, six to eight or more. Drill a pilot hole (do not skip this step!) and affix the wall bracket to the wall after ensuring it’s level.

The difference between cheap and expensive mounts
I get asked this all the time – what is the difference between a cheap and expensive wall mount? Aren’t they all just metal brackets? Well actually, there is a big difference. The cheap mounts use softer steel and often include less hardware and features, making a job of installing a TV more difficult. You also don’t want a mount that flexes when a TV is on it, something you find with cheaper mounts. One of the biggest differences in a cheap mount vs expensive mount though, are the available adjustments on three or more axes. A premium mount will have the ability to adjust the position of the TV after it’s on the wall. Want your display nicely flush in a cabinet? A premium mount with post-installation adjustments can do that, and cheap mounts just can’t. Doing a video wall and want all the TVs perfectly aligned? Don’t expect a cheap mount to do that! Mounting a TV outside? Don’t get a cheap mount that possibly could rust and fail. TV mounts are like tires and shoes, you don’t think about them until they break, so get a quality mount and eliminate the worry.
Motorized, pole, pocket and custom TV mounts
There are many special products available; it’s possible to mount a TV almost anywhere, at any angle and in any size. If you need a special mounting solution, contact a professional, I do not recommend DIY-ing any complex installations.
Words of warning
Always check the weight of your TV, with the rated weight of your mount and hardware. Safety first, second, and third! Whenever I mount a panel, I ask, would I sit under it? If you can’t say the same about the TV you just mounted, take it off and get a professional. Never, ever affix a TV to drywall only, always make sure your anchors are solidly in wood or metal studs. Never mount TVs in direct sunlight or in areas with high humidity or water contact.
