He tried to break the gender stereotypes with his film Ki & Ka and now Arjun Kapoor is going all out to support a real life initiative of gender equality with Girl Rising, Schools initiative. The campaign talks about promoting education for young girls and the Gen Y star has extended his support to the initiative since it is in sync with his thoughts and ideologies.
Further talking about the need of education, Arjun Kapoor believes that women getting educated will bring a much bigger positive change in the society as it will help them in parenting, making them better professionals in whichever field they chose to pursue. He further insisted on the need of giving women equal opportunities which in turn will benefit our country as a whole.
Elaborating on his involvement in the campaign, Arjun also asserted that he will be a part of several campaigns including the on-ground work. In fact, the actor is already planning to take the initiative a step further on Teacher’s Day [September 5] and he also mentioned about attending a conclave in Delhi to create awareness about this. While he appreciated the efforts made by Freida Pinto and Priyanka Chopra who too are a part of the Girl Rising initiatives, the actor believes that having a male perspective might establish a better connect with many.
As of now, Arjun Kapoor expressed his happiness over collecting Rs. 35 lakhs for the campaign, at the same time, he also reinstated the need of men coming out and talking about empowering women which will further add to the changes that the campaign is aiming at.

We have been busy behind the scenes getting ready to open under the new guidelines and regulations. All of our clinical staff now have high grade respirator masks which have been individually fit-tested and certified as safe. We also have a unique fan system placed in each surgery that completely clears the air within less than 10 minutes.
As a result of these measures (and many more)
we will be open for most treatments as from 09:00 on Monday 6th July
We believe that we will operate normal (published) opening hours from Tuesday 7th onwards. Please note though that we have a backlog of work that needs priority attention, which we will be working through over the first couple of weeks. Our priority groups are listed in the previous blog.
Our protective measures allow us to start offering hygiene appointments but these, and other routine appointments, are likely to be delayed until the end of the month. Please note though, that we are unlikely to be able to offer ‘joint’ appointments (where you can have your check up and hygiene in succession).
We are still required to pre-screen all patients and to ensure social distancing within the non-clinical areas of the practice, so it is definitely not ‘business as usual’ for the moment.

any previously booked appointments are void at the moment
All appointments under the new guidelines need to be booked and confirmed by telephone and no one can be seen without a response to the pre-screening questions. Thank you for your patience and co-operation with this.
Our opening in July can be regarded as a ‘beta test’ for the procedures. The whole system is so alien to us all that we are sure it will need adaption and modification over the first few weeks. Furthermore, as the risk status changes (for better or worse), there may be other changes imposed or conditions relaxed.
For the moment it’s good news for all though, and we look forward to seeing you again even if we are peering at you from behind our PPE!

Vulnerability catches us at all the wrong times, or does it? I recently heard the term “vulnerability hangover” and completely related. There have been so many times I have felt like I tried something new or said something out of the ordinary and felt great about it at the moment. I felt empowered and really proud of myself. But then, time passes, and I thought about it, and thought about it some more, and second guessed myself, again and again. For example: “Should I have really asked for more money? Why do I think I have the right to get paid more? Did I offend someone?” Writer Brene Brown writes that vulnerability is not weakness, but rather it brings about “emotional risk, exposure, uncertainty, creativity and change.” Making yourself vulnerable is really about courage and having the courage to be who you are and say what you not only want to say but need to say to create the life you want to live.
Many women describe feeling vulnerable when it comes to sex and sexuality. Asking for what you want sexually will indeed expose you but try and think about that exposure as positive. You are exposing yourself for being a sexual person who wants to explore and change and of course there might be some emotional risks with that. In these situations, I always ask my patients what is the worst that could happen? A common example that often comes up with clients involves using a vibrator with a partner: You want to ask your partner to use a vibrator with you. That certainly takes courage to bring about a new subject and you are asking for something that will make you and probably your partner enjoy sex more, but there is also that uncertainty in not knowing their response. After you finished measuring where to attach the mount, you’ll need to identify the type of wall you’re going to attach it to. The most common walls are wood stud, metal stud, and concrete/block or brick. Each type requires a different approach.

After you figure out what type of wall you are working with, you’ll need to make sure that when you drill into the wall you won’t hit any plumbing or electrical runs inside, or on the opposite side. Check for outlets and switches nearby and look for water fixtures too. If you’re not sure, consult an electrician or plumber. After you determine it’s safe to mount, place the wall mount on the wall and mark where you want your anchors to be. Always ensure you have at least four solid anchors in studs, and if you have a bigger/heavier TV, six to eight or more. Drill a pilot hole (do not skip this step!) and affix the wall bracket to the wall after ensuring it’s level.

The difference between cheap and expensive mounts
I get asked this all the time – what is the difference between a cheap and expensive wall mount? Aren’t they all just metal brackets? Well actually, there is a big difference. The cheap mounts use softer steel and often include less hardware and features, making a job of installing a TV more difficult. You also don’t want a mount that flexes when a TV is on it, something you find with cheaper mounts. One of the biggest differences in a cheap mount vs expensive mount though, are the available adjustments on three or more axes. A premium mount will have the ability to adjust the position of the TV after it’s on the wall. Want your display nicely flush in a cabinet? A premium mount with post-installation adjustments can do that, and cheap mounts just can’t. Doing a video wall and want all the TVs perfectly aligned? Don’t expect a cheap mount to do that! Mounting a TV outside? Don’t get a cheap mount that possibly could rust and fail. TV mounts are like tires and shoes, you don’t think about them until they break, so get a quality mount and eliminate the worry.
Motorized, pole, pocket and custom TV mounts
There are many special products available; it’s possible to mount a TV almost anywhere, at any angle and in any size. If you need a special mounting solution, contact a professional, I do not recommend DIY-ing any complex installations.

Always check the weight of your TV, with the rated weight of your mount and hardware. Safety first, second, and third! Whenever I mount a panel, I ask, would I sit under it? If you can’t say the same about the TV you just mounted, take it off and get a professional. Never, ever affix a TV to drywall only, always make sure your anchors are solidly in wood or metal studs. Never mount TVs in direct sunlight or in areas with high humidity or water contact.

We have been busy behind the scenes getting ready to open under the new guidelines and regulations. All of our clinical staff now have high grade respirator masks which have been individually fit-tested and certified as safe. We also have a unique fan system placed in each surgery that completely clears the air within less than 10 minutes.
As a result of these measures (and many more)
we will be open for most treatments as from 09:00 on Monday 6th July
We believe that we will operate normal (published) opening hours from Tuesday 7th onwards. Please note though that we have a backlog of work that needs priority attention, which we will be working through over the first couple of weeks. Our priority groups are listed in the previous blog.
Our protective measures allow us to start offering hygiene appointments but these, and other routine appointments, are likely to be delayed until the end of the month. Please note though, that we are unlikely to be able to offer ‘joint’ appointments (where you can have your check up and hygiene in succession).
We are still required to pre-screen all patients and to ensure social distancing within the non-clinical areas of the practice, so it is definitely not ‘business as usual’ for the moment.
So, I refer to the previous blog and confirm that
any previously booked appointments are void at the moment
All appointments under the new guidelines need to be booked and confirmed by telephone and no one can be seen without a response to the pre-screening questions. Thank you for your patience and co-operation with this.
Our opening in July can be regarded as a ‘beta test’ for the procedures. The whole system is so alien to us all that we are sure it will need adaption and modification over the first few weeks. Furthermore, as the risk status changes (for better or worse), there may be other changes imposed or conditions relaxed.
For the moment it’s good news for all though, and we look forward to seeing you again even if we are peering at you from behind our PPE!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock that’s devoid of neurofunk for the past couple of months, you’ll already know that Maztek released a new EP on his 0101 imprint last week. The 4 The Ravers EP is a fun, party-forward release meant to be an homage to all the rave bass that has come before. What the EP accomplished was to really show that, despite all the subgenre and generational bickering, there really has been a natural progression of rave music over the years and that is why he can make an album like this.
4 The Ravers does much more than showcase the progression in rave music, of course. It’s also given the DnB community an insight into the progression of Maztek’s own style, which seems to get more interesting, innovative and downright fierce with every release. Rave music history may have been his inspiration for this EP, but the composition, crazy breaks and impeccable sound design are uniquely Maztek.
Since this EP is largely about rave, we wondered what other Ravey McRavepants tracks Maztek looks to for inspiration other than those named in 4 The Ravers. He came back with a great list of rave classics that know no space and no time and will eternally be tracks ravers can jam out to. Here they are, in no particular order, Maztek’s top ravey rave tracks, 4 The Ravers. Rave on.
The Prodigy – Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)
I couldn’t not mention The Prodigy after what happened (with Keith Flint’s suicide last week), they are an icon of the rave culture and it is a big loss for all of us. This remix is definitely one of my all time favorites when it comes to drum and bass remixes.
Konflict – Messiah (Noisia Remix)
I Know this is pretty obvious but this tune is a symbol for my generation of drum and bass ravers. Who did not like or does not like to rave hard with this tune?
Maztek – Wrecktified
This is the first tune of my new EP. I love to play it and I love to dance to it. I remember when I made this tune I had a few friends at my house that night and we had fun listening to it. Sometimes it is hard to like your own music especially when you spent many hours producing it but this is not the case with this track.
Maztek – Babylon
At the very beginning I was not sure if I wanted to put this tune in the EP but my girlfriend was dancing hard on it and I was like okay wow let me try this out at a rave…Well the whole room started twerking on it! I was not expecting it would go off that way!
Optiv & BTK – Shredder (Inward, Hanzo & Randie aka IHR Remix)
This tune is just fun and I love the vibes. Optiv and BTK are good friends of mine and I released IHR on subculture, my first label, back in the days. I saw them evolving and they are killing it at the moment.
Maztek & Aeph – The Dirt
This tune is from my last album. I love this and I loved making it with Simone Aeph. It always goes off and the forthcoming Merikan remix even more. I’ve been playing many of my tunes in DJ sets lately so I am sorry to mention so many but this is what I am raving on at the moment!
Mefjus – Divergence
I like many tunes from his last album but this one really impressed me. I love the continuous hypnotic flow.
Gridlok – Insecticide
this is one of my all time favorites from my friend Ryan. Pure style!
Gydra – Bass Must Go On
I had to mention one of their tunes the guys are killing it at the moment!

Sorry to break it to you, but Illenium is officially off the market.
It’s no surprise that high profile DJs like to keep their work and private lives separate. But on a trip to Bali this week, Illenium brought along his Instagram model and artist girlfriend, Lara McWhorter, and snapped a cute picture in front of an equally cute elephant.

After much delay, Rhea Kapoor’s ambitious chick flick Veere Di Wedding went on floor in Delhi a few weeks ago. While Kareena Kapoor Khan’s interesting video of her prep and her son Taimur became a talk of the town ever since she started shooting for the film, the digital media team of the film did not expect this shock coming their way. In a one of a kind case recently, the official Instagram account of the film was not only hacked but a ransom too was demanded for the same.
As bizarre as that sounds, but when the Instagram account was hacked, an alleged ransom was demanded which was a role in the film. The hacker claimed to be a Pakistani resident who had changed the display picture of the account into a monkey with the emoji of the Pakistani national flag and a changed description that stated, ‘I am paki papu bhai.’ When the digital team came across the same, they were left quite surprised and decided to take action against the same.
They reported about the hacking incident to the Instagram headquarters in Mumbai and soon got their hands on the details of their hacker. While they have not only retrieved the access and control of their account, it was soon stated that the hacker’s location was indeed traced to the neighboring country.
Although the producers of the film haven’t officially made any announcements, reports claim that the account was hacked for 90 minutes by a certain Pakistani resident who demanded a role in the film in return to the access for the account.
Veere Di Wedding to be directed by Shashanka Ghosh and is slated to release next year. The film also stars Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in leading roles.

Ajay Devgn feels producers refunding money to distributors isn’t right. Find out why!
Of late, considering the dry spell that has plagued Bollywood, superstars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan failed to set the box office ringing with their recent releases Tubelight and Jab Harry Met Sejal respectively. What followed was the news about how these actors were planning on refunding the money that the distributors and exhibitors have lost owing to the dull performance of their films. Talking about the same was Ajay Devgn whose recent release Baadshaho is doing decent business at the box office.
Ajay Devgn recently decided to speak up on the matter of refunding money to distributors by producers who have invested in films and made his stand clear by asserting that it may be fair on humanitarian grounds but not from a business perspective. Explaining how the entire process of buying a film works, the actor –producer revealed that there are two ways to do so, MG aka Minimum Guarantee and Advance. Elaborating on the concepts, he stated that in case of advance, distributors buy a film for a said amount, say Rs. 10 crore for a territory wherein if they recover the amount it is fine or else it has to be paid back by the producer.
The other one is MG or Minimum Guarantee which says that if you have bought a film for say Rs. 10 crore wherein one can’t ask back for money technically. He also added about how then people would resort to the concept of Advance more compared to that MG. While he agrees that it may be fair from a humanitarian point of view but not otherwise.
On the other hand, considering the losses incurred by films, recently Salman Khan paid back money to the distributors of Tubelight. Although there have been speculations about Shah Rukh Khan doing something similar for Jab Harry Met Sejal, there is yet to be any kind of confirmation about the same.
