Shraddha Kapoor supports these underprivileged kids by making a donation
Many Bollywood celebrities have been associated with varied social causes that range from development of the girl child to providing basic necessities for underprivileged children to helping acid attack survivors. From the Gen Y generation, Shraddha Kapoor, who is gearing up for the release of her next, recently decided to do her bit for the society.
Reportedly, Shraddha Kapoor made a donation to an NGO Akshaya Patra that runs mid-day meal program, serving wholesome school lunch to over 1.6 million children in 13,808 schools across 12 states in India. A source close to the actress said, “We saw Shraddha Kapoor go out in support of helping the helpless and hungry kids. The actress is of the opinion that people who are privileged and blessed with a comfortable life should lend a helping hand to those who are deprived of even basic needs. She has deep concern towards the less fortunate and believes that the least they deserve is good, nutritious food, especially the growing kids.”
In fact going further, not only did she herself get involved in this initiative but she even decided to use her celebrity status to urge millions of her fans on all her social media platforms to contribute to the cause. “With a click you can provide food for helpless hungry children. I have done my bit. Log on to akshayapatra.org now. #MakeADifference,” the actress posted on her social media handle.
As for her films, Shraddha Kapoor has currently started the promotions of Haseena Parkar which is slated to release on September 22. Her other forthcoming films include the Saina Nehwal biopic as well as Prabhas’ much talked about action tri-lingual Saaho.

What should Shah Rukh Khan do to bounce back Trade experts and distributors speak
Shah Rukh Khan’s recent film Jab Harry Met Sejal has proved to be a big disaster at the box office. Since the past two years, Shah Rukh Khan wasn’t having a great run. Yet, his films were having respectable figures at the box office. Dilwale and Raees underperformed but managed to go beyond 130-crore-mark. Fan failed to cross 100-crore-mark but it was argued it was not a typical entertainer. With Jab Harry Met Sejal, all excuses dried up as it was a romantic film starring a prominent actress, Anushka Sharma, as his co-star and replete with foot-tapping songs. Yet, it failed to excite audiences.
So now what should be the next step of Shah Rukh Khan to get back in the top league? Harveen Singh, distributor from Rajasthan, said, “Shah Rukh Khan should play roles that suit his age.” Another leading distributor Rajesh Thadani also had the same views. He said, “He should choose the right kind of roles. He can’t be romancing younger heroines at this age. He should gravitate towards mature, content-driven roles.”
Trade analyst Atul Mohan feels action can work for him. He implied, “He should do more action roles and films like Don. Don 3 is a great idea. His role in Raees was also interesting but the film suffered due to clash with Kaabil. Not just action but even what he did in Dear Zindagi was impressive. Chak De India was highly inspiring.” He added, “There can be some elements of romance as well. Or maybe Karan Johar can perhaps come up with good romantic film for him. Even doing a sci-fi won’t be wrong, provided the script is first-rate. Ra.One, I feel, came a bit too early.” But he had an important piece of advice here, “Whatever he does, it should be one level up.” Rajesh Thadani also emphasized for films that have a bigger appeal. “The narration can’t be abstract that would limit the audiences,” he said. Another reputed trade analyst Amod Mehra was more critical about Shah Rukh Khan’s choice of directors. He said, “He is doing silly films. Signing Farah Khan and Rohit Shetty’s films sounded the death knell for him.”
Both Atul Mohan and Amod Mehra admitted that Shah Rukh Khan can take a leaf out of Aamir Khan’s choice of films. Atul Mohan said, “Gradually, he should plan to go the Amitabh Bachchan way. Even at this age, Big B is playing prominent roles and getting appreciation. Also, what Aamir Khan did in Dangal is something that Shah Rukh Khan should take note of. At the same time, once in a while, he can also do an action film. In short, he should plan his moves for the next five years.” Amod Mehra gave an in-depth analysis to justify why Aamir Khan can serve as a good source of inspiration. He explained, “Aamir Khan is not doing the typical hero roles. He’s doing character-based roles and his track record is impeccable. Look at his recent films. He played an alien in PK; in Dhoom 3, he was the anti-hero and also had a double role. In Dangal, he played a father to four girls and he was not even there in the climax. In 3 Idiots, he was one of the three heroes. Shah Rukh Khan should follow Aamir Khan’s path. He should not try to be young. He should play Shah Rukh Khan the actor and not Shah Rukh Khan the hero”
Shah Rukh Khan’s next film is with Aanand L Rai in which he plays a dwarf. Again, it’s an unconventional film and it remains to be seen if it works for the superstar. Harveen Singh said, “That particular film seems interesting. Working with a hit director is always a safer bet. He needs a good director and a good script” Amod Mehra however is unsure. He opined, “Doing Aanand L Rai’s film is a gamble – it may or not work. But at least, he has something interesting lined up.”
Self-acclaimed critic Kamaal R Khan’s advice for Shah Rukh Khan shocked us all. He matter-of-factly said, “Shah Rukh Khan should now retire and sit at home. He should launch his son Aryan. Maybe he can play his father’s role in his film” And what are his views on Aanand L Rai’s film? “He should shelve that film,” he signed off!

Subshock and Evangelos are the curators behind this melodically dynamic psy trance and bass house infused banger. They reworked the song together for Juicy M and the outcome is truly fantastic. Encompassing some serious house vibes and hardcore rhythm, the track coincidentally titled “Psyhaus” was recently released on Spinnin Records. Undoubtably the largest house record label in the world, this is a big release for any artist big or small. No stranger to this genre these two are more so spearheading the bass house style with innovation and ensuring that they keep it fresh as a duo.
The artists sat down to answer some questions over the phone which was a neat experience and a pleasure to get a deeper insight on their story.
How did it feel to get your release signed to Spinnin’ Records?
Evangelos: It felt so good to know that after working hard in that tune for months, tested out so many times and did millions of tweaks to get the perfect mixdown it got signed by the biggest label in the EDM industry. We are also very happy to see the good reactions to this release, we feel like it’s really something fresh!
You’ve been signed to many labels, including Dim Mak, MixMash, and other labels in partnership with Warner Bros. – what advice would you give to producers aiming to get on established labels?
Subshock: Well, we always advice to be patient, work hard and be humble and eventually it will happen, you only need to get noticed by working hard every day. A lot of people says that it is all about connections, which it is true, but not everybody is born having those connections. You need to go out there and network like hell. And of course, it was a matter of working hard on our craft and keep grinding every day and at last, never give up. It took us years for our debut release on Spinnin’ and it definitely didn’t happen overnight!
How did the idea for “JUICY M VS. SUBSHOCK AND EVANGELOS – PSYHAUS” come about?
Evangelos: There is not a really big history here, we are just big fans of Psytrance and Bass House, we play both styles in our shows and we decided to risk a little bit and mix them together. To breakthrough as an artist, we think you should be a bit innovative and just release crazy stuff. This new blend can work really well for our performances and we can’t wait to play it out again. We got some more cooking up as we speak, this year we’ll have lots of music out there, we want to release one track every month like last year!
Did the two of you had solo careers before linking up to form the duo?
Subshock: I started as solo act making dubstep and drum step, under those days I used to release on labels like Excision’s Rottun Records or Dieselboy’s Subhuman and gaining support from big Bass names that helped me tour Europe and North America.
Evangelos: I first started with a partner in a formation called Noiserippers making Dubstep, it was a good time. After some time, we parted ways and went solo under the name Evangelos where I started producing Progressive House. Later I came back to Bass as it satisfies me much more to produce it. When I started I was resident to Zoologico in Madrid, it was the center of Bass/EDM in Spain, that’s where I met Subshock and after doing some b2b sets and doing a couple of tracks we decided to keep going together. Our first collab was “Rebound” and it did really well in Spain, that’s how we knew we were good working together!
Will you be touring in 2019? What have been some of your favorite memories when performing at live events?
Subshock: Yeah of course we will be touring, we are already preparing our second tour around China and getting set some other shows around the globe. We also love to play more in the east part of Europe, people go crazy there!
Well, it always creates really good memories to spend time doing what you love with one of your best buddies you know? But it is also special to see how people are reacting when we play PSYHAUS, they don’t expect the Psytrance part and their faces when it switches is priceless.
Evangelos: Not long ago we were in China and to appear on stage we had to wait for a screen to open and we had to go through it, our intro was playing and people were going crazy, and as we were on stage, Subshock took the pendrive out thinking it belonged to the previous DJ and the music went dead! Now we laugh but at the moment we wanted to dissapear!
What techniques do each of you use to help boost creativity in the studio?
Subshock: We actually started to be a duo also because our workflow in the studio was quite similar but also complementary at the same time, but there is not really a technique. Maybe we could say that the best technique is to combine a lot of hours in the studio with some free time out of it enjoying life with friends and family.
Evangelos: Don’t be afraid to use lots of distorsion, use the buses to mix and control the overall track, be original and take breaks every 3 hours! Oh yeah, and use multiband compression! Also try to do original tracks, experiment and find your own sound. It someone listens to your track and recognizes it as your sound, you are on the right track.
What goals or plans do you have that you guys would like to share for 2019?
Subshock: I think that our main goal for the 2019 is to finally do a tour over the USA but also keep working, risking and give love and fun to those who follow and support us.
Evangelos: We’ve been working hard over 2018 to find our sound and we think we found it, Bass House lets us try lots of things with powerful sounds we love and let us experiment with different BPMs. Before doing a 150 BPMs PSYHAUS track we released a couple of Bass House tracks with the same BPMs and people loved them so we thought it was a good idea to keep the BPMs and give it a twist, expect more like that!

As I was checking the calendar, I realized that the festival of Maha Shivratri is nearby. Unlike most Hindu festivals which are celebrated during the day, the Maha Shivaratri is celebrated at night. A Celebration of all things Shiva – The Hindu God of Destruction.
What is the Maha Shivaratri festival??
Maha Shivaratri, or simply Shivaratri, is a Hindu festival celebrated all across India. ‘Ratri’, in Sanskrit means night. So, Maha Shivratri roughly translates to ‘the great night of Shiva’. The auspicious time begins at sundown on the 13th night during the month of Maagha in the Hindu calendar and ends at sundown the following day. Since the date of the festival is calculated on the Hindu lunar calendar it always falls on a moonless night.
When is Maha Shivaratri in 2019?
Shivaratri 2019 falls on March 4th, a Monday.
What is the story behind Maha Shivaratri?
There are many legends related to this festival. One of them says that it is the day when Lord Shiva married Parvati. The other says on this day, Lord Shiva manifested in the form of Linga for the first time. The third says he performed Tandava, the dance of the primal creation, preservation, and destruction on this auspicious night of Shivaratri.
How is Shivratri Celebrated in India?
Maha Shivaratri is celebrated as a day of gratitude to Lord Shiva. On this day the devotees observe a fast. Some have only fruits, milk and water. Some have only water throughout the day. This signifies gain of will power and release of all sins. Since Shiva is considered an ideal husband, unmarried women pray for a husband like him & married women pray for their husband’s safekeeping and fast as penance for their safety.
Priests also offer puja in at a Shiva Temple where they ritualistically bathe a lingam, a statuette that symbolizes Lord Shiva. Most people spend the day of Mahashivratri in prayer, meditation, and celebration. Chanting Om Namah Shivaya slowly during Meditation gives Peace, Concentration, and Energy.

Assumptions are a tricky thing. After all, much of what a child assumes rarely comes up in conversation. They just believe what they believe, until something contradicts it. But a child’s assumptions about credit cards can be downright dangerous, financially speaking.
For a child, money is usually tangible. Their money fills their pockets, lines their piggy bank, or falls out of birthday cards. So when mom or dad leave a store with a cart full of food by merely swiping a piece of plastic, a child can assume that such things didn’t cost a dime. But a few smart habits can turn your shopping trips into learning moments for your child.
Show and Tell
Studies show that 48% of all purchases are transacted with plastic. About half of those are debit cards, and the other half are credit. When you’re among the 48%, use the point of sale as a teaching moment. Explain that the card you’re swiping tells your bank to send the store some of your money. Perhaps something like this: “Today, we’re using some of the money mommy and daddy worked for, just like how you work for your allowance. We’re trading the store some of our money for this food.” Their follow up questions about how your bank communicates with the credit card processor? You have our permission to make that up.
Spill the Bills
If your child is old enough to understand the concept, sit them down at the end of your billing cycle and show them your transaction history. “See, we’re now paying for the food we ate last week. But we saved our money to pay this bill, so it’s okay! We worked hard to make money so our family could buy what we needed. We knew how much money we had in the bank, and were careful not to spend more than we had.” Your objective here? Drive home the point that those cash-free purchases didn’t go unnoticed by your pocketbook.

Finally, to turn your credit card concepts into financial understanding, hands-on exercises will help. There are a number of modern apps and programs that allow parents to pay their child’s allowance digitally, offering practice in cash-free living. Here are a few of our favorites:

“Mission: Impossible — Fallout” topped the weekend box office in North America, outperforming the five earlier editions of the stunt-filled Tom Cruise action franchise, final figures showed Monday.
The Paramount/Skydance production took in $61.2 million for the three-day weekend, according to industry tracker Exhibitor Relations, more than quadrupling the $15.1 million earned by second-place “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.”
“Impossible” has 56-year-old Cruise, who famously still does his own cliff-hanging, car-rolling stunts, ordered to track down some missing plutonium and find a terror-minded villain.
Universal’s “Mamma Mia” clung to the second spot for a second straight weekend, though its take was nearly 60 percent below its opening.
With a star-studded cast including Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan, the film uses plentiful flashbacks to fill in the story of Streep’s carefree character on the only Greek island with a built-in ABBA soundtrack.
In third was Sony’s “The Equalizer 2,” with Denzel Washington again playing a former black-ops agent — and now low-profile Lyft driver — drawn into action to avenge a friend’s death. It took in $14 million.
Fourth spot went to another Sony film, “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation,” at $12.3 million.
The animated comedy, whose voice cast includes Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez, follows Count Dracula and his family as they get away from their hotel for their own vacation.
In fifth was a new release, Warner Bros.’s family-friendly “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies,” at $10.4 million, which Variety called slightly disappointing given the film’s 90 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The first feature film based on a popular animated series, “Titans” has a voice cast including Kristen Bell, Will Arnett and Greg Cipes.
Rounding out the top 10 were:
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” ($8.8 million)
“Incredibles 2” ($7.3 million)
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” ($6.7 million)

It’s been more than a year since Rhea Kapoor announced her much ambitious chick flick Veere Di Wedding featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead. While the film garnered attention owing to its star cast, the schedule that was supposed to go on floor last year, was pushed further owing to Kareena’s pregnancy. But now we hear that the stage has been set and the film has gone on floor in Delhi today.
Kareena Kapoor Khan resumed her work commitments earlier this year after the birth of her first child Taimur. The actress had taken a short maternity break and now, with all the preps completed, she was spotted at Mumbai airport last night taking off to the capital for the shoot for Veere Di Wedding. Followed by the same, Sonam Kapoor too flew to the city later in the night. Reportedly the first schedule, which will almost last a month, will be extensively shot in Delhi.
Enthusiastic about the film going on floor, Rhea Kapoor said, “We are really excited to start shooting. Delhi is a key location. The food, the fashion and everything it has to offer in terms of the lifestyle sector made it the ideal location to shoot Veere Di Wedding.” From what we hear, the actress will start off the shoot with an elaborate wedding sequence.
Furthermore, producer Ekta Kapoor added, “Delhi forms an essential part of the narrative of the film and as a city it adds to the vibe of Veere in a big way. Bebo, Sonam Swara, and Shikha are going to take Delhi by storm and all of that will translate beautifully onto the screen”.
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh and written by Mehul Suri and Nidhi Mehra, Veere Di Wedding stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The film is a fun ride that explores the spirit of the modern Indian woman and will have a 2018 release.

Cleveland Water will be watching returns come in tonight. Returns from our monitoring buoys that is.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Gale Warning for Lake Erie waters, which is in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon to 5 a.m. Wednesday due to the risk of sustained surface winds with speeds from 35 to 45 knots (39 to 52 miles per hour).
The wind is predicted to cause significant wave heights that range from 7 to 11 feet, with the size of waves getting bigger throughout the day and occasional 14-foot waves by tonight. Significant wave height is the average of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the waves.
Cleveland Water’s nearshore buoy measures many parameters including significant wave height. Today’s wind storm may cause the largest wave event that our buoys capture this year before they are taken out of the water for the winter. The highest significant waves recorded this season so far were 10.25 feet and occurred around 9 p.m. on October 20.

What Waves Mean to Cleveland Water
When Lake Erie is rocking, increased turbidity can come knocking at our water treatment plants’ front doors. Turbidity is the cloudiness or haziness of water caused by individual particles of sediment that are generally invisible to the naked eye, similar to smoke in the air.

Esha Deol to tie the knot again
Back in June 2012, Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s daughter Esha Deol tied the knot with her fiancé Bharat Takhtani in a private ceremony at the Iskon Temple in Juhu. What followed was a wedding celebration that was attended by close family and friends. Now a couple of years on, we hear that Esha is all set to tie the knot yet again, but this time the actress will be taking three instead of seven pheras.
In fact come August 24, Esha and Bharat will be taking the three pheras that are customary as per the Sindhi tradition of ‘Godh Bharai’. If that wasn’t all we also hear that like her wedding, Esha’s and her husband’s attire will once again be designed by her long-time friend Neeta Lulla.
As for the ceremony, unlike her wedding that was in Tamil, the ‘Godh Bharai’ will be conducted by a Sindhi priest who will be chanting mantras in Hindi as well. Apart from the customary prayers the priest will also be chanting prayers for the well-being of her child too, following which family members will apply oil on Esha’s forehead and shower her with blessings and gifts.
Besides the prayers there will also be a `mehendi’ ceremony with the women singing and dancing to folk songs.

“I am best qualified to expose Honeypreet & her father Ram Rahim” – Rakhi Sawant
The unstoppable Rakhi Sawant is shooting for her Honeypreet Insaan bio-pic in Delhi when I catch up with her on her latest escapade. Yes, believe it or nuts, Rakhi is indeed playing Honeypreet Insaan. A bit of a flurry to catch the bus considering the case is still so raw and the lady in question is on the run.
Says the enthusiastic queen of controversies, “I agree it all happened suddenly. But I felt we needed to expose Ram Rahim and his so-called daughter’s kale kartoot (evil deeds) so that the public doesn’t fall for such evil godmen. When my brother came up with the idea I immediately latched on to it.”
Wait. Is Rakhi’s brother making the film? She beams with filial nepotistic pride. “Yes, my brother Rakesh Sawant is directing the film. We’ve named the film Ab Insaan Hoga. We shot an item song Bewafaa item (she sings the opening line for me. I go wow). The film will be called Ab Insaaf Hoga…Bewafaa Item.”
Errr…so would Rakhi shed some light on her association with the Bewafaa Item and her famous Daddy? “Yes, I’ve known them well for years. I am best qualified to expose Ram Rahim and his so-called daughter. Initially I was introduced to them as father and daughter. Lekin bahot jald hi mujhe daal mein kuch kala laga (very soon I realized there was something amiss). There was nothing father-daughter about their behaviour. I also visited Sirsa, to see Baba’s secret gufa (cave). He told me he performs all his pujas there. Later I came to know this is where he rapes all those poor innocent children. I was so shocked and repulsed I didn’t know what to do.”
Rakhi rather rightly blames the rape victims’ parents. “The children would go back and tell their parents about the kaand (misdeeds) done to them. But the parents would send them right back to this Baba. Do you know why?”
Tell me, Rakhi.
“Because they were bribed. And you know what the bribe was? Daru (alcohol). They would be swinging and swaying drunk while their daughters were crying for help. This is our India,” says Rakhi all set to expose Baby and his baby with a melodrama where we would see shots of Baba’s lechery being intercut with visuals of inebriated parents.
Recalling how she got to know about Babajee’s exacerbated libido Rakhi Sawant says. “I was once invited to the Marriott to meet Ram Rahim by his secretary C P Arora. The film, Rakhi Sawant reveals, will begin in jail where we will see Ram Rahim chakki peeso-ing. As he weeps he recalls his past.
Exults the excited bio-pic maker, “Then the whole story will be revealed. We’ve found an actor who looks like a carbon copy of Baba Ram Rahim, ekdum ditto. Same hair, walk, talk everything. Audiences will be fooled. They will wonder, Yeh kahaan se aa gaya?”
So does Rakhi look anything like Honeypreet? “I am an actress,” she declares loftily.

SCOOP: How Katrina Kaif lost Race 3 to Jacqueline Fernandez
There was a time when Jacqueline Fernandez saw Katrina Kaif as a kind of role-model. Both being outsiders with no gyaan of the rashtra bhasha. Both fair and sexy… A more critical commonality is Salman Khan. While Katrina’s proximity to the superstar Khan is a part of movie folklore, Ms Fernandez in recent times has been making every effort to get into Salman’s good books. But then the unexpected happened. Salman decided he was too old to play a dancing star. He decided to do another film with Remo: Race 3, produced by Ramesh Taurani. At this point Jacqueline Fernandez was not part of the translocated package. One hears Katrina Kaif was the no.1 choice for the female lead opposite Salman in Race 3. But then in this whirling of grand illusion known as Bollywood, there is many a slip between the cup and the lip.
The plum role in Race 3 earmarked for Katrina has now gone to Fernandez purely on Salman’s recommendation. We hear Salman felt morally obliged to compensate not only director Remo D’Souza but also Jacqueline after the dance film they were doing together was shut down. So Salman being Salman he cart lifted the entire team to an alternative project, flood-relief style.
I am sure this development won’t do much to aggrandize Katrina’s friendship with her Sri Lankan rival. Oh yes, Katrina and Jacqueline now have another (f)actor in common. Sidharth Malhotra. Both the hotties have delivered duds with him.
